What a journey from back in the Moab Bronson days, the Giant Trance test, etc! Very happy to see how you have progressed and great new bike for your wife too (also congrats on the marriage, I’ve missed a lot 😂)
Wow, nice colour. You are a lucky girl Sarah. Just the addition of the T1 components alone are going to make this great ride, a fantastic ride. Congratulations, enjoy!
here's a video idea: discus & demonstrate why Sarah chose the Ripley (less travel), you chose the Ripmo (more travel), when you both ride together on the same trails at the same speed so one could argue the same geometry & travel would be appropriate for both (though weight ratio could be a factor). I think the answer might help new riders like me understand the difference in the bikes
Grats on the wedding! My wife has the same bike, same color, etc. Just make sure that you get some heavy tape on that upper suspension link; my wife's bike got hit pretty hard there by a rock on her second ride and took a large chip out of the finish. Otherwise she loves the bike.
Making my Ripley purchase last year looking just THAT much better! Silly to say, really, as I couldn't be happier with it. What a difference a few decades in bicycle design make! Dude at LEAST give that new paint a full wax first! Better yet, ceramic coating, then PPF for some true preservational love!
Love my Ripley V4! Glad I got it last year since Ibis just cranked up their prices substantially for April 2022, not sure I would have made the same decision now. Beautiful bike nonetheless!
You may have told us all what Sarah is studying, but what is she studying at Hah-vard? That's a very impressive wife you have there Brian, you def out-did your weight class bro! Congrats!
Congrats, nice bike and build and i am sure you'll enjoy it. After selling my 2019 Instinct BC close to a year ago i finally built a 2021 Niner RDO hardtail which started out as a 3 star build but i sold cassette, crank and wheels then replaced with XO crank and cassette, since i was looking for LOW weight i got a set of YISHUN 1226 gram XC wheels with DT 180 EXP hubs and installed the 54 upgrade, i have a set of YISHUN trail wheels with 240 hubs that are only 1426 grams if youre interested? they are 30 internal, centerlock and XD with 54 upgrade installed, perfect condition with less than 10 rides
Note on the Ibis hubs - the dust seal protecting the pawls & engagement ring in the freehub is prone to coming loose and exposing the innards. Both my new Ibis had this issue. I had lots of skipping right out of the gate on my Ripley. I should have addressed the problem sooner. Took care of my son's Ripmo with far fewer miles on it and it's good. I used a little contact cement on the dust seal and hub shell to keep it from coming loose. Any owner of these hubs should consider doing same. As I didn't address mine right away, I had a TON of engagement ring material floating in and around the pawls. Should be a warranty issue, but haven't pressed it yet. That said, it's functioning much better now that it's clean, relubricated and sealed properly. Still missing some edges on the engagement ramps though.
Ahh c’mon Sarah, we were team Stumpy. J/k I actually sold mine a couple weeks ago. Congrats on the new whip! Oh and Blue Steel-I hope you can turn left!
There are alot of great trail systems very close to Sarah at Harvard. Everyone ones of Lynn woods, Harold Parker and the Fellsway but don't forget to check out Breakheart Reservation. It's a sleeper
The Pump track looks fun! Where is it? Just an observation: Looks like the Ripmo is funner than the Ripley on that pump track! ( not knocking the Wifey btw). Seems like it's more planted - that longer wheelbase helps!
remember to always cut away from you. but I recommend to get packaging knife with ha good handle to make it fit well and secure in the hand. a packaging knife lets you have a few mm of the blade stick out, so no risk using it on the tape on the box.
i am jealous to you guys doing this because i am riding this time on my own cause my son has move to his place doing things by his own,i am emotional because ever since we ride together and now his now an adult already doing things by his own way.so sad 😂 btw Brian im back to riding a few years ago because i seen your video with Erik .
Congratulations on the new bike! Great build for sure! Not a bike question, but which part of Harvard’s campus are y’all at. I’m pretty sure that’s one of the buildings. I’m partial to my HBS ;)
Deadly buzz! Except put that rear light at a height it can be seen by a car from distance - your hardly going to use the dropper on the commute so slide it way the heck up!
What a lovely bike.
What a lovely place you live.
What a lovely wife.
What a lovely couple.
Love your videos man.
Greets from Lisbon, Portugal.
Sarah matches Brian's energy so well. This is great!
Brian, that blue steel was ON POINT! Carry on 😂
It's nice to see your wife in a video you should bring her into more of them
Because you did the blue steel face, you forever will be my favorite YT creator! Nice ride! That's the way to treat your lady!
Sarah seems such a confident and fluid rider, well done for putting her on a great bike.
It’s nice where your partner shared the same interest with you. Shared same happiness if there’s a new bike or gears.
Congrats!!!

Yup, same here. Loving my Ripley, almost a year old.
Same. I got mine March 2021 and I love it for the riding in New England.
Same. Went up $700 2 weeks after I got mine. Would be awesome to get a free 9000 bike though. Lol

Been watching your channel for years, never knew you were even married. Ha ha

Deadly buzz! Except put that rear light at a height it can be seen by a car from distance - your hardly going to use the dropper on the commute so slide it way the heck up!
I didn't know you were in my state of Massachusetts. How cool is that. Head 39 miles north and you'll slam right into me if you're near Boston.
