    Me: *sees FATE Core mentioned* Violently pushes the like button even not watching the video! There needs to be more content around FATE and I fully support video for beginners!

      Haha thank you!!! It’s so underrated right?! Like I’m so shocked there’s barely any content on it.

    don't forget about Fate Condensed! Personally, i tend more towards the full toolkit of Fate Core, but i think Approaches are really neat so i tend to swap those back in

      Ah! I think I’m going to do a big video just for condensed as its own little thing :) what do you think about that idea?
      Also same!! I’ve been using them in both systems lately haha

    I have tried both FATE Core and FATE Accelerated. Accelerated is great for one-shots, since approaches clearly define how a character operates. Core is good for longer games - it prevents someone from leaning on the same approach for all their actions, which becomes rote over time.
    I'll also say this in favour of FATE: There are other games that do storytelling well, but FATE is the rare game that has a strong mechanical support for any improvised storytelling that may happen. Just come up with aspects during play, and FATE's mechanics will handle the rest.

    I'm a Fate CORE GM and I feel like I feels good for everithing except combat. I'ts so simplifyed that I must make a few homebrew rules in order to not to make an all-powerfull character with 3 skills. As a frined of mine told, in Fate, the fights are just a way to do narrative (he is hardcore).
    Thinking of keeping an eye in Accelerated for a normie group.
    Btw I love the way the characters are created and the fun of making them, not like D&D that are photocopies... In FATE they have sould.

      There are easy ways to make combat more interesting. First of all, use Create an Advantage a whole bunch, it makes the game more fun. Then you can introduce situational combat aspects based on the people engaged. Let's say your player uses Rapier and enemy wears Plate Armor, you can introduce aspect "Plate Armor" which the enemy can use to Defend against rapier, but another player with hammer can invoke that aspect against the enemy, because hammer is great against armored opponents. Also introduce more personalized skills, instead of Fight, use Fencing, Kung-Fu, Fist Fighting etc.

      @@Tesoro1996 I agree with you. The main problem is that my players never think on creating advantages or not thinking of weapons narratively so always go to the crude statl. Don't know how to make them think of creating advantages 🥺...

    • @lawrl777
      @lawrl777 19 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@oriolbiosca693 you can practice it with them by giving enemies big obvious weaknesses, like a vampire's Trouble "Garlic is Poison", or a mage's "Wards of Weapon Turning" that makes them immune to attacks until the PCs find a way to Overcome or Compel it

    • @oriolbiosca693
      @oriolbiosca693 19 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@lawrl777 Yeah it should work. The key point here if the whole stats and aspects are shown or not. I mean, it's quite known that garlic and vampires mixes bad, but some of them don't jave it event in mind, so I make it expicit or it will be useless. :/
