Really like the "likelihood" modifier. This is great stuff.

Thanks so much! Yes, it seems to make things a lot less random, while still allowing for the rare case of an extreme result. 😊👍

Thanks! Fortunately they are really easy to find and really cheap!

Nice to see Fate getting some love (kinda). Just getting into Solo gaming and I'm feeling "Indeterminate" about "Indeterminate" dice results, but otherwise liking the oracle. Nice!

😂 Thanks! I have really been getting into FATE lately, and I am hoping to start a campaign in 2023 (or a least a few one-shots). It seems like a really great system! Hopefully indeterminate need not be as boring as it might sound. When I get indeterminate in response to a specific question I use it to introduce an entirely new thread or twist to the narrative (which makes it especially interesting). So fear not the indeterminate! 🤪

@@GrayArmyGaming Makes sense! There's a few Fate Let's Play's lurking on YT. There's just a bit long in the tooth. I think some of mine may still be up.

A simpler version of the Oracle uses just rolling one D6 (1= "No, and" 2= "No, but" 3 = "No", 4= "Yes", 5= "Yes, but" and 6= "Yes, and". There is no "Indeterminate" result. That makes the outcome more random (any result is equally possible), so less nuanced, but faster to resolve. And no need to get the "+" and "-" dice ;-)

Interesting! There is certainly something to say for simplicity, especially when playing solo!

This is a really good oracle and it lets me use my Fate Dice too! Nice video!

I like fudge dice, and the modification dice approach you propose seems indeed a good solution to counter the usual tendency of the results canceling each other out. Still, I work on my own approach using fudge dice, which breaks away from how most oracles work.

Neat! It kind of reminds me of FFG's Star Wars RPG, just a bit simpler.

Thanks so much! I just finished a draft of a new role playing game that uses the FATE dice, but not the FATE rules. Playtesting starts soon, and if it works I will be featuring the game on the channel! Who knows, I may even pay a graphic designer to package the rules in a nice layout! It all depends on whether or not the game is any fun… 😬
