    The subscription fee is the killer for me for most of these units. Mevo+ wins just for that reason. Im in a good position as i havent purchased yet and will wait to see whats new for 2024.

    I think as a community we need to make it clear to manufacturers that charging yearly subscriptions to unlock “on box” features isn’t a business practice that should be rewarded. Pay for updates and upgrades? … maybe, but charging 15-20% of purchase price every year just to use basic features? Nah. Mevo offering bolt on features for a one off? I’m ok with that too.

    Therez one important category u forgot. And thats ‘interferance’. Because mevo is radar based u cant have fans or air conditioners in the room it is being used because it throws it off. Thats not an issue with Skytrak because its camera based.

    Having the average golfer target metrics default on the SkyTrak vs having to add them manually on the Mevo+ is kind of nice. However to Sean's point the flexibility and portability of the Mevo with no sub is kinda GOATed

    Skytrak...more accurate, easier to set up, requires less space, wins the "fun" category but still doesn't come out on top? Interesting...

    Hi New to the channel im interested in the Mevo and the sky track as i,m looking at a simulator setup at the moment, If i,m correct flightscope gives you 12 e6 courses,
    but can you if you wanted buy the e6 subscription, and would you get the bag mapping closest to the pin etc within the two tier subscription do you get these option, or are you better off to get other programs that have these option ?? just to finish i agree with you i like the flightscope mevo , i have 19 a feet room, i like the option for left and right handed play with mates, lots to think about cheers

    The BIGGEST PROBLEM for most people to tackle IF the want to use it in sim is SPACE. SKYTRAK, BUSHNELL, EYE MINI, solve this problem and the latter 2 provide great putting & chipping as well. Now that the Eye Mini is selling for less than 4k and its subscription model is so much cheaper than the Bushnell it has to be considered as a contender as well - how about a review?

    • @boredymcboredface8624
      @boredymcboredface8624 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t agree … space around you is nice regardless. I chose to set mine up in an area with more space so 1. I could have my mates over and play 2. It doesn’t get too hot/ claustrophobic.
      Initial Cost and ongoing cost are very big factors for most people on these projects. So subscription hardware and USA only hardware should be scrutinised with a tco over at least 5+ years

      @@boredymcboredface8624 I think you misunderstood my comment. I agree, Having more space than the required minimum makes any SIM better. However, my point was that Radar units require far more space than photometric units. Instead of a minimum of 8 foot behind, you need only enough space to comfortably swing the club, instead of 10 to 15 feet of ball flight for radar, You need only enough space to be safe from rebounds.
      my point was that For people with minimal space, photometric units are their only option and the EyeMini and EyeMini Lite deserved a review, which I believe has happened since this comment my made.
      Subscription models are constantly changing so I’m not sure what a five-year comparison would prove. Having a unit capable of connecting with multiple software vendors could be a huge plus over the long haul. The defacto standard is GSpro and I doubt I would consider any unit that didn’t have a vendor supported connection to GSpro, but that is a personal opinion.

    Bought the Mevo+, having a lot of connection issues in the first few days. I have a skytrak+ on order now and will return the loser. I think the simplicity of setup for the ST+ will win me over as you described, and will overcome the currently limited sim options. Playing outdoors in a golf cage setup.

    I unfortunately can't use the monitor indoors - have a early 1970s vintage home and just don't have enough overhead space downstairs and even the garage only has ceilings which are a tad over 8 feet. We put a family room addition on which is 16 x 24 with a 14 foot peak height and windows along three walls; however, turning that room for a golf simulator will only cost me my marriage!!
    Therefore I'm stuck with the range. I think for the flexibility of the display, responsiveness, and ability to get the clubface data, I'll try the Mevo+.

    Many people talks about Mevo is easier to carry to the driving range… that’s depends of the driving range… if your mat is elevated by few inches… you have to bring something to align your simulator… do not underestimate this thing… it is really a mess in many cases!

    • @damiensmith8351
      @damiensmith8351 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      You don't raise the mevo+ if the matt is raised (as this throws it off if there is a dip in floor level), you adjust the ground level in setup.

    Does the quality of the driving range golf ball make a difference in performance between Mevo Plus (radar based) and SkyTrack (camera based)? When using the Mevo Plus on the driving range, does your iPhone or iPad get hot and drains the battery?

    Hey Sean. Maybe a bit of a fringe request, but I would love to see a video on "best launch monitors for the range". I want to pick something up that'll let me have my own data (vs relying on inaccurate/sometimes broken TopTracer) and practice a range of approach shots/distances. It looks like the FlightScope Mevo (non plus) is probably the best/most accurate option for sub $600. Would the original MLM fit the bill in terms of accuracy for wedges?
    The MLM 2 Pro looks absolutely amazing, and the combine feature looks great, but it's probably out of my price range. I have a PRGR for swing speed training, but what I really want is accurate carry distances for LW through 4 iron (I care more about wedge accuracy than anything else) when hitting range balls. Any other ones you think I should check out? I vaguely remember the Garmin R10 not being good on wedges, and often times the ranges I hit at will only have 6 feet behind the mat.

    I just can't understand how the Skytrak+ can have all club data except for Angle of Attack. That is probably more important for amateur golfers that would be in this price point than face angle. How on earth could AoA be the only metric it cannot measure?

    I recently found your channel and just want to thank you for the content. I'm looking to set up a home Sim and have used your reviews to decide on getting the Mevo+ as the backbone of my setup. I'll be building a man cave with Bar around it so that I can enjoy it with friends... which also leads me to the Mevo+ as I don't have to worry about right vs left handed swings. I also always carry a LH 8 iron in my bag for recovery shots against hazards... so I love the idea I will be able to practice my left hand shots as well as my normal swing. Thanks again... great channel.

    For me, I have my simulator set-up in my garage. I don't have 15'-20' of room. I hit into a 10'x10'x10' cage with an impact screen and the SkyTrak (or SkyTrak+) only requires a few feet past where you hit the golf ball. For that reason, I went with the SkyTrak+. You mention options for simulators, but don't mention the TGC2019 software. I've been using it and have been really impressed with the quality of graphics - the downside is you have to have a gaming computer to run it in it's highest graphics mode. Thanks for the reviews and insight - just subscribed and looking forward to your future content!

    • @bougie_kenny
      @bougie_kenny ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d say it depends.. both are good indoors. One thing about the ST+, if you are in a garage like me and winter hits - the ST+ isn’t affected by space heaters or fans if you’re using during the summer. Outdoors probably the Mevo+, from what I’ve listened to, ST+ will only work on a mat.

    Really interesting video, both of these devices are on my short list to buy. Not too bothered about portability and would like to use a non RCT ball so think the Skytrak + would be the winner but prefer the simulator options available on the Mevo +. I guess both are good options and it is just which one I need to compromise with and to work out what is the most important feature for me. Thank you for making this video, very helpful to confirm my direction and shortlist appears to be correct.
