Your son does a really great job with the SMKW videos and the livestreams. We all really like him and are glad he's part of the SMKW/knife community.
I have my original cub scout knife, boy scout knife, my original issued demo knife, my dad's stag handled hunting knife Othello-Solingen 1955, and my 2nd, 3rd, &4th professional guides knife (Gerber 600, Tekna Divers Knife SS, AG Russell Folding Hocho SS), and my mom's cleaver. These are personal/family history knives of great sentimental value to me. But the best is a small collection my dad had started a few years before his death...it was then lost....and found again. I recently had the privilege of completing his collection of the series of knives he started all those years ago. That collection is special.
That’s a really cool story, and exactly what I love to hear! They may not be the shiniest or most beautiful but they hold so much meaning! Love this!
My most special knife is a USA made Old Timer Sharpfinger that my dad carried and actually had with him when he was killed in a truck driving accident. He died when I was a year old in 1979. So the knife is around 45 years old and is somehow in great shape. The accident was very bad and gruesome but somehow the knife came out unscathed besides a little staining in the leather sheath. That is the knife that started my love of knives and will always be the star of my collection. The Old Timer was a lot better knife back then than they are now but it still wasn't anything crazy expensive. But bcuz the sentimental value, it's priceless to me.

#smkwcollection I have several daggers that belonged to my Dad. He died when I was 14. I remember watching him sharpen his knives. Precious memories.

Awesome video thanks for showing us your collection. Same thing for me, grandpa was Navy WWII & Korea, dad was army Vietnam, I have all their knives and my first knife was my imperial Cub Scout knife when I was 10 years old in 1968.
I'm glad I came back to this vid (after watching Isaac's collection) Thank you so much for explaining the love of knife collecting. Sure there are knives I bought "because it looked cool" (and have spent waaay to much on them), but the ones in my collection that mean the most are probably worth the least monetarily, and yet are worth the most to me personally. Thanks TC. The work that you've put in at SMKW (along with Issac) is the reason that SMKW has come to mean so much to me (of all the places to buy knives on the internet) and it's also the reason that my wife and I will be visiting this fall when we take our vacation. Thank you for all the hard work that you do. We recognize it. I absolutely shows.

Thanks for the cool story and background. Wish I could go on vacation and visit SMKW!! You guys are great. My dad always carried a pocket knife and as a kid it fascinated me and I wanted to have one of my own. My Brother and I used to love looking at my dad's small collection with him. He always had a great story behind each one. Definitely know where you're coming from. You may be a good welder, machinist, and metal fabricator but you're a great knife salesman. Love you're videos and the knives you guys introduce. I've got several SMKW exclusives and just added the Boker Kwaiken lava flow. Looking forward to more on the way. My brother and I still have some of my dads knives and I'm looking forward to passing it down with the stories to my son. He loves collecting knives Along with me just like I did as a kid with dad. They are more than just knives, they are memories. Anyway, great video and great part of you're collection. Thanks again for sharing

I wish I had a knife I could call an heirloom. Sadly mine mysteriously disappeared from my mother's gun safe when she died, along with everything else that was in it. Life isn't perfect sometimes. But at least I have a few that I can leave for my children.

The kukri is more than likely from Nepal at least originally and from the brief look appears to be a WWI era or earlier example, great knife and cool keepsake.
Thank you for this insight, I’ve always been curious about it as I never got the opportunity to ask about it’s origin and the story seemed to be lost but it is very special to me as an heirloom.

This is not your entire knife collection, these are probably the most rare knives and sentimenta value knives in your collection. Do you have any other video showing all your knives?!
TC, the knife at 2:04, the engraved Buck, is that a Buck 305? It looks like the two I have; one from my dad, and one from my father-in-law.
Edit: Ah! At 4:00, that Old Timer...I have two of those, too. One was my dad's, and one was his dad's. Massive slip-joints, those beasts.
I fear that the way the world is going, heirlooms like these will cease to exist, given our political climate/political correctness. So sad.
It is actually a Buck 310, really cool memory that I appreciate even more now that I am grown. Love that giant Old Timer, I remember my dad pulling it out of his pocket and as a kid that thing seemed like a sword to me!
