Piles of Knives: My Knife Collection Overview and Review

  • After years of collecting pocket knives I lay them all out like a weirdo and talk about each one. Waxing poetic, Comparing the brands, discussing the pros and cons. Switchblades, autos, tactical, butterfly, balisongs, traditionals, slipjoints, folders and more. Super steels, carbon steels, and more. Links below take you places to buy or look at knives. Nearly all knives I have done videos on in the past, so search "Advanced Knife Bro" and the knife name to find more info about them. Some links below support the channel.

the sheer amount of traditional slipjoints you own is truly the mark of advancement in being a knife bro. I expected to see "the usual suspects" in 3-5 steel variations each + a bunch of ugly overbuilt man hole lifters, but so far 16 minutes in I see a lot of really cool and realistically pleasant designs!

35:50 I bought a 7cm Black Higonokami out of curiosity. I subsequently sanded off the Black coating because why not? I keep the blade razor sharp and use it to cut down bamboo skewers into thirds, and then sharpen and end on each. Robust toothpicks to clean my weed pipe, and as cheap toothpicks for my teeth. Not the ones that clean the pipe of course...

Avant-garde Blade Comrade, I’m super psyched for your slip joint coming out and fully intend to get my filthy paws on it. I hope one day you also design an overbuilt monstrosity as an ode to your love of cold steels- a love that has inspired me, or afflicted, depending who you ask. E.g. I have the 4-max scout arriving in three different colors today.
The planet is on fire. The growth of inequity is in proportion with the diminishing of many’s rights. Our rulers are myopic ghouls who refuse to cede power to younger and wiser people. Most of them are owned by unfathomably wealthy, vampiric perverts with breeding kinks.
BUT AT LEAST THE KNIVES ARE FUCKING SWEET!!!

Great rundown. I like that you don’t care for some knives just because if brand. It every knife they make is gonna be for people and some people fake it and say they like everything they make. I am very fond of the Benchmade Barrage and can’t get enough of it. Even when I get a new knife I’m comparing it to Barrage or mini Barrage.

Those are the popular knives or what most people carry imo . Fishing is boring . We just go out there to hang out and if they’re biting great but if they’re not we’re drinking beer and that’s good enough . Have a good one . I ve enjoyed your vids .

Last week, while I was applying a coat of Renaissance Wax to my GEC collection, I had the Knife Junkie Podcast playing on shuffle in the background, and your 4 year old episode randomly started playing! It was so serendipitously appropriate! It's the one where Bob tells you the story about cutting himself badly with his Endura 4, because he was slashing at mosquitos while drunk on tequila LOL. You were cracking up hard while he told the story. I didn't even own a single GEC 4 yrs ago, now I have a ton (partially inspired by your videos). Thanks for sharing your collection with us, AKB!

Very cool pile of knives, appreciate your taking the time to go through everything! What’s funny to me about knife collecting, is that I got my first knife in 1963, and have been buying new ones as I can afford them since 1975. (A $20 Gerber folding sportsman and a $20 Schrade LB-7) I have hundreds of knives, but have heard of only maybe half of the models you show here. I also have several of yours on my all time wish list, so enjoyed seeing them. Just shows how people can go in different directions collecting, as I’d like to think I might have some new to you as well. I think I have 8 or 10 custom 110’s, and they’re slow and heavy but I carry them scout side in a custom sheath and you don’t even know they’re there. You’re right, I have my Dad’s 1972 customized 110 in a pocket slip he made, so it’s tradition as to why I have any Bucks.
FYI, that first ‘63 knife was a yellow delrin Case Sodbuster. I bought the new one last year for that $30, and what a disappointing POS. I had to spend 45 minutes on a slack belt grinder with it just to get the handle scales evened up and then get an edge on it. I bought a yellow AG Russell Rancher I think it’s called, and it’s a huge improvement even over the classic Case.
I have maybe 50 slipjoints, but with the exception of a Tony Bose and a few GEC’s and a pile of Trappers, don’t have anything like your set of quality knives.
    Thanks again! 👍

Stay away from unboxing videos and gushing over packaging and cans with cartoons on them and I will keep watching your awesome and entertaining shows. Thank you sir.

Cool collection & huge grats on being able to design a knife yourself and have it made!
Given what's on this channel I'm not sure if calling yourself the brains behind it is the best marketing idea though.
