Thanks for the video, Fjorde. I'm wanting another nice pair of jeans, and am right on the fence of whether to get Samurai or not. I love my Momotaro copper label (10oz). I also love my Studio D'artisan D1820 hinodo (15oz), am quite fond of my (150oz) Japan Blue and 18 oz JB J236j01 (18oz). I'm just not sure whether to go for a Momotaro Copper Label 14.7 oz or a Samurai S300VX or S510XX. The issue is: it's always great to try new brands and new jeans VS the Momotaro's are my best jeans,, so why not stick to a cotton and cut that is the best I've found? Any advice?
Hi Jason, thank you so much for your message. I know how you feel…I feel the same way, when I find something I like, I tend to duplicate it. I have SDA and Momotaro and they are great brands. But you will do yourself a favour to try Samurai. I feel Samurai is little more exclusive and special. Hope this helps. Keep on rocking 👖
@@Fjorde Thanks for your suggestion. I did go for a pair of Samurai S510XX in a limited edition white stitching (year of the ox). I'm hoping they are special, as you say; fingers crossed. :)

Hi Fjorde, what cut is the 19oz Samurai? I‘d like to get a straight cut but am not sure if I‘ll also get these nice fades - or if I need to get a tapered cut to do that. Thanks for youe feedback!
You can fade any type of denim, but typically the heavier it is the more contrast you can get. In Samuari's 25Oz denim is legendary and coveted, but hard to get. If you're going for the fades you cant go wrong with Iron Heart. 19oz, or 25oz iron heart.

Love your channel, just one thing and it’s just my personal opinion . As and older guy can I offer some advice , the whole dyeing your beard thing just isn’t working it’s too much contrast and it looks so fake. You have great personal style and it takes away from it, imho.

Hey bro fades depend on a lot of things not just the weight of the denim. Also fades take time, frequency of wear and the way and construct of the denim. Also some folks like their denim to not fade in a hurry. So please can you you not go on and on on “fades” as the be all and end off to judge Selvedge denims. There is a lot more to Selvedge than what you say in your channel.
