    The woman who was wearing the cape that went to talk to Vel is Luthen's assistant Kleya. I love how a lot of viewers did not recognize her at first glance because she totally changed her clothes, hair do, and even the way she walks and carries herself. She put on a disguise for her meet up with Vel. This is spycraft 101.

    Yes, It's the best Star Wars show. and it's not even close. I like Mandalorian, but let's be honest: that show is pure escapism with no real substance. The pure definition of "empty calories". Andor, on the other hand, is talking about real issues: oppression, rebelion, personal responsibility, etc. It's a serious attempt to make art.

      The interaction between Maarva & Cas were some of the most raw & emotional. Such superb acting from Fiona Shaw one if the best character actors in the industry.
      The scenes between the 2 of them some the best in the entire series.
      The lack of appreciation from Kris & to a lesser extent JC confuses 😕 me regarding Marva v Cas scenes.
      Kris is great but

    I loved the conversation with Cassian's mom, her telling him this robbery was a call to arms and he probably wouldn't understand it. And he doesn't, even though he was part of it (and couldn't tell her, would she have been proud?). Just great multilayered writing.

    THIS IS AN AMAZING SHOW!!! This last episode was SOO dope!! It was so cool to see how the Rebellion grew from these small pockets of disgruntled citizens. This is STAR WARS!! This is the beginning! The least interesting scenes weren't with Andor, they were with that dude going on a damn job interview. Sure it has a place in the story, but they weren't more exciting than Andor's scenes.

  • @calarencrow7480
    @calarencrow7480 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    I think Cassian's story just moves slowly because this is his show, so his character arc is stretched out over the entire season. Therefore, it seems like he doesn't change much. But I found that scene where he was going after the troopers with a stick while his mother was saying "we need heroes that will stand up to the Empire" was exposing the bravery and the potential Andor has to become one of those heroes. He has it in him, he just doesn't care yet. Once his character goes full circle and becomes a believer, he will become someone the audience can rally behind while he fights the empire.

  • @helyderosendo2661
    @helyderosendo2661 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I find cassian’s arc very moving and very well acted. Diego Luna is fantastic as Andor and as a Mexican actor he is great representation for the Latino community just as T’Challa is in Black Panther for the black community. I’m glad the show is named after Andor.

    Wow. So satisfying on so many levels. Story, script, character development, casting, pacing, costuming, not special effect driven... The many references to the 1956 film '1984', especially the striking resemblance that the Diedre character has to Jan Sterling's 'Julia' (hair colour, hairdo and cap). I can't wait for the next episode, but at the same time do not want it to end.

    This show blows Boba Fett and Obi Wan out of the water. If only those two shows had had the writing, directing and acting of Andor (plus the more well directed action that those two shows would have warranted) - makes it even more excruciatingly frustrating just thinking about it...

    • @alexanderp7083
      @alexanderp7083 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@darrel7589 Christ mate, I'm going to have to strongly disagree with you. All of Obi Wans side characters were dreadful. The Inquisitors were cartoonish, Vader was not explored in enough depth character wise apart from a couple scenes. Every supporting character in Andor has fleshed out character arcs and development. Boba Fett was awful, inconsistent with the character and action scenes were horrifically choreographed. The best episodes were the two which didn't even feature him in it. Even Temuera Morrison wasn't happy with his characterization in the BoBF (see his interviews where he wishes for a more badass boba). If you're not finding Andor fun that's because it's not supposed to be an action filled swashbuckling adventure. It's in the vain of Endeavour, Breaking Bad, HoTD levels of seriousness. A top drama with excellent acting, drama and dialogue. Many of us SW fans have been screaming for something like this for years. We can have the adventure family friendly SW shows as well as the more mature darker shows like Andor. Something for everyone. I pray to God that they keep making shows in this tone.

    It seems to have cut loose all the Lucas (ie. Joseph Campbell) elements. The "hero" doesn't have much issue around his birth, he is mercenary as opposed to being simply reluctant or skeptical, practical. His super power is not the force but seems now to be his poverty ridden beginnings ... a super power of it's own in contemporary narratives. And it has almost no humour at all... a staple of Star Wars from the beginning. Probably why most die hards are tuning out for one or all of these reasons.

    • @Bagofsoup
      @Bagofsoup 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Very true, though I wonder if they are doing that to preserve the specialness of the heroes’ journey for characters like Luke in the main saga movies. A lot of these shows and stand alone movies have served to prop up or deepen ideas in the main movies, which I’m glad for. I don’t think we would want all the protagonists in these shows and movies to have that same heroes blueprint, as it would get repetitive and take away from the uniqueness of the main heroes of the saga films. Just a thought.

      In this Star Wars world, there isn't any room for humor unless you're a Jedi. I'm down with the original, serious, gritty storytelling set in the Star Wars Universe. It's like a really good science fiction show. The fact that it's based in Star Wars just makes it better - but clearly this show is above and beyond all the other garbage Disney has been producing. Obi-Wan and Boba were total trash that insulted our intelligence.

      It is up to debate though. While Mando is more interesting as a single character compared to Andor the world building of Andor is much better than Mando. Dialogue is also much better than Mando even though Mando dialogue is pretty good. You could say both shows are different in genre. One is an adventure type of show while this one is more spy thriller drama. Both aims at different types of audience and their execution is different. Which is better is up to your personal preferences and taste.

It's not always about cool action moments, dialogue, plot, and writing are important. Obi-Wan lacked most of that and it was the show I am looking forward to the most.
