    Viewer Question:
    Mr. Pink Don’t Tip - Hey guys. I’m up late and I’m just through the first 2 episodes of Andor and I’m floored! I never expected a Star Wars show to feel like this does. It’s incredible and I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I actually think it’s better than Mandalorian. Now that all of you have had a chance to watch it, what do you guys think of it so far? Thanks!

      Exactly. I never let the fact that I know how a character or story in general will ultimately end dampen my enthusiasm if what I'm watching is really engaging. If anything it can make it better if the story is told well & you're really invested in the character

    Andor is Star Wars for adults. It has no fan service, no force users, no fun family adventure for the kids and a little slower paced. I like it because it more mature in themes and acting and is a much girt. I get it if the hardcore Star Wars nerds don't like the show because all they want is fan service, nostalgia, Skywalker in everything and gratuitous light-saber fights. Andor is how Star Wars is going stay relevant for the next 10 years because nostalgia is like cat nip to Star Wars nerds but it is killing the franchise with a broader audience. There is a reason why Disney don't feel comfortable releasing a movie and is cancelling film Star Wars films projects because they are worried the franchise has become too niche and doesn't have a broad enough audience. They mess this up by not making Finn the lead Jedi that would have broaden the audience so much for Star Wars and they chickened out. There isn't enough mainstream interest in Star Wars anymore to sustain a big budget Stars Wars movies. They are stuck on Disney Plus.

    • @Delboy0
      @Delboy0 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ChildOfTheWilderness You are being very selective with your information. Of course the force awakens did well when it was the first Star Wars movie in over 40 years with the original cast. But box office has been rapidly declining ever since to where Solo was a massive flop and Disney put an end to Star Wars as a movie franchise. Star Wars fans always talk up Mandalorian as the biggest show in the world because it delivers in fan service, but the show isn’t even in the top 5 most watched shows on Disney plus and the other Star Wars shows have been mediocre and not doing well in terms of viewers. When Disney are cancelling all the announced movie projects for Star Wars that tells you it is a dying franchise and you hardcore nerds cannot accept the truth.

    I have been looking at the comments and it is fascinating to see the different perspectives on the same episodes. It has got to be hard to be a writer these days when there are so many factions of society. I think the best stories are those that aren't interested in trying to please everyone all of the time. Probably, a Vader series right after III would definitely be the best period for a jedi hunter type series, a series like that could really bring the Dark Horse Vader comics of old to life if done right

    My only issue with this series (which is the same with all live action Star Wars) is where are all the bloody aliens? It's just human, human, human.... oh there is one alien and now human, human, human.... oh there are alien dogs..... human, human, human. Season 1 of The Mandalorian started off really strong with alien characters but by the 2nd half of the season and all of season 2 it was mainly all humans again.

      Yes, excellent point and something that also bothered me in these episodes. It didn’t bother me in Mandalorian because the story and pacing made up for that, but in these 3 episodes I was constantly thinking ‘where are the alien species?’ Hopefully it’s due to the planet they’re on and things will be better on Coruscant.

    Im glad all the "disney" feeling is out of this. And love the show. But what's gonna actually pull me out of the show is waiting a week for 30 minute episodes. Disney has the absolute - w o r s t - streaming model. Although i hope the ratings stay strong because i would rather have star wars in this tone than anything else they have given us.

  • @BushmasterH

    As many have said, this show will split viewers. It will not be for everyone and that is ok. It’s a show that takes its time and has a pace that many viewers will not like. For some they’ll feel that nothing happens in the show, for others the dialogue and character moments is plenty. I personally love it but I understand those that won’t.

    This is an important show. If "Andor" succeds, it will be shown that serious sci-fi can be explored inside the Star Wars universe. But if fails, then we will be condemned to watch childish and superficial trash forever.

    As much as I love the show I think John is wrong, it won't unite the fanbase as much as The Mandalorian because it's just not got enough action for some. This is grown up Star Wars and unfortunately alot of the fanbase are children or just immature.

    • @Coracora-he9pz
      @Coracora-he9pz ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I wouldn’t say “unfortunately”. It’s absolutely great that kids get to enjoy Star Wars as I did when I was a kid. After all SW is primarily a kids franchise. But I am in agreement about the reception, in the internet era, where everyone is extremely polarized about everything, not many things can unite a fanbase as large as SW. And this certainly is not a show for kids. But hey, as for me, I’m loving the show.

    The oppressed upraised!. This is so historically grounded in a way. I lived back in my country of birth through a revolution and, can you believe it, I found it relatable to it!. It's weird I feel the whole three episodes could have been compressed in just one. YET!, I loved the subtle world and its look and, each and every character seemed to have substance and purpose. And you can feel how it's building up a very emotionally charged tone for the show in a very serious way. I'm gonna expect now, a line very close to, "if we don't do anything then evil wins" 😮👏
    I expect a Winston Churchill-like character to rally and inspire the cause. And, start calling each other comrade.
