I appreciate and resonate with that video. Last year I started tattooing and my confidence was high, I was pulling clean lines, doing good job for an apprentice, until I moved overseas, and had to start all over again (building a new clientele, finding a studio). It destroyed my confidence in my practice (tattooing less than I used to do), in my capacity of producing good art and clean tattoos. Since then I’ve almost quit tattooing, but your video just gave me a reminder that, with patience and practice, I can give myself the opportunity to pull off some awesome tattoos. Tattooin skin is the best experience you will ever get. I have been tattooing for 1 year and fakes skin is so much easier to miss mistakes. Its very easy to tattoo fake skin and get crisp lines. Soon as you go to real skin its totally different. Practice on yourself and close friends or family that are willing to let you tattooo them and maybe even mess up ! So future reference cover everything it takes to execute that line no shade but for people who are looking for particular details, it will help you on your explanations on the video however, it was great video I watched from beginning to end
Being confident it's very important, practice skin it's nice to improve your skills in a technical job like this....but some day some way you have to hit a friend or yourself by doing a shit line.... 😁😁😁😁
Your apprentice version makes me nervous. I just started on actual skin but I don’t think I’ve ever done that bAd even on my practice skin🥲I often find myself not going deep enough bc I’m terrified of causing a blowout causing me to have to go over lines again. Luckily I’m pretty confident going over lines but this videos was very helpful as I was having a bit of a hard time but turns out I just need to trust myself with the needle depth.
A&D should be applied on top of the stencil in a thin layer just before you start to tattoo to help keep the skin clean whilst tattooing. The green soap should be applied to a wipe and gently wiped across the skin after its been tattooed to clean it and freshen it up. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
Oh wow the thing is I thought I was doing it wrong because I was too confident and bold from beginning and then I got little sad that my line didn't go as solid as on draft but I looked at that straight line and it looks exactly like mine(maybe because it's skin it can't be too straight as I imagined) also while being confident is good yeah I need practice on timing because sometimes I hurry
Sir I have been watching all your videos... Right now the mistakes made by me is when am rubbing skin with green soap lot of times with tissue major skins got infected soo please let me know how to apply vaseline and use green soap while tattooing
It’s extremely important to make sure all your work areas are fully sanitised before even setting up for tattooing. Always use clean gloves and change them often if you touch anything other than your machines or client. Yo don’t need to rub down ‘too much’ with green soap as this can agitate the freshly tattooed skin. Just use a little to clean any excess ink and make the area clean. The important thing here is to make sure everything is sterile all the time.
I am just starting learning how to tattoo on a real skin, there is different info everywhere about what you put on the skin before you start tatooing. Is this a good thing to put vaseline on the skin before you start? Because I hear it everywhere but it sounds wrong
Great video! If you don’t mind would you make a tutorial/video with tips on how to tattoo yourself and get the right technique ie; tattooing your own arm correctly?
Haha this is exactly how I was when I was practicing. My thighs too are sacrificed and this is near pin point perfect of what it feels like as an apprentice. Only thing you forgot was the wobbly shaky assed hand haha regards from Yorkshire 👍👍
I’d have to disagree about equipment & ink , a hand made gun out of a Walkman motor and some Higgins ink will get you tatted up. - some of the best work I’ve ever seen has been from a hand made gun? But would prefer professional equip. Cool video thanks
Omg thanks you're a boss! I can't help but go ahead and do myself. I've never had any tats before. The commitment scared me. Now I have end stage heart failure and I don't want any serious surgeries, transplant or defibrillator. I want to be covered in ink when I die. I've got scars from road rash to chainsaws. Lol I drink and stuff. Quality over Quantity. If I tattoo over a fake tattoo is that ok? How much are my "Conditions" really affecting my skin's ability to hold ink?
Hey, just discoverd your channel and I'm addicted already :) I have no experience and want to learn. Probably a noob question ;) While watching I was wondering if there is a difference if you drag the line (from B to A) ...
Getting my first set up today... I'm not good at drawing or painting or making only thing on paper. Only thing I got is a steady hand. Should I even try? I always figured u gotta be good at that stuff to then be able to tattoo people
Hey! I hope all is well 😊 I'm wondering if you can tell me why on just 1 line, won't take? Like no matter what I do the ink just won't go into my skin. What am I doing wrong, because the place it choose not to stick is in the middle of a moon phase I'm doing on my finger. I've tried adding more into to my cartridge, I've tried going even slower than my already agonizingly slow speed, I've tried pushing harder, etc. Nothing is working and I'm starting to panic a bit. Thank you
For me one of the most important factors is where abouts on the body. I'm struggling with belly n side of body. I'm super confident with legs n arms but my process falls apart when doing difficult areas
Hi, first thxx for your amazing explain , it was a pleasure for me to watch your demonstrations, my question is : the angle of my needel how can I control it ? How is the degree must be angle ? Thank you
Hey Jono, what machine would you recommend that is close to a professional. Im on disability and I'm getting into this field cause I love to draw. I've been tattooing for 7 months now. I love it. I can see myself being a professional one day. I'm working hard like 3 hours 4 hours a day. Im starting to notice small improvements. I'm not putting the cart before the horse. From watching your videos I've gotten a lot of help from them. They have this program here in the states that is 15,000$ to enter that want 3,900 down and 390$ a month in on a fixed budget so I'm basically teaching myself watching your videos,
Jono, Thank you for another great video, especially for those of us still learning to tattoo and not yet working in a tattoo shop. One problem that I have is not being able to buy the Envy gen 2 tattoo cartridges because Tat Soul will not sell needle cartridges unless you work in a tattoo shop.
Ill see what i can do. Thanks for watching!
Haha this is exactly how I was when I was practicing. My thighs too are sacrificed and this is near pin point perfect of what it feels like as an apprentice. Only thing you forgot was the wobbly shaky assed hand haha regards from Yorkshire 👍👍
Aww yes the shakes! Good call on that one. Thanks for watching, I really appreciate it!
Great Video J. Rest in paradise 🙏 ✨️
How did he pass??
@rev.dr.dayspring7805 he passed from brain cancer.
Just tried to tattoo my leg, the lines came out pretty crap so let's see if this video helps..
I’d have to disagree about equipment & ink , a hand made gun out of a Walkman motor and some Higgins ink will get you tatted up. - some of the best work I’ve ever seen has been from a hand made gun? But would prefer professional equip. Cool video thanks
I’ve been checking out this dudes vids for a while, and yet to see if he has any tattoos besides the ones on his fingers, and the few near his wrists
rweally loved this on specially cuz u did it on an actual skin .just awsomeeeeee
Do you think being left handed makes a difference at all?
Omg thanks you're a boss! I can't help but go ahead and do myself. I've never had any tats before. The commitment scared me. Now I have end stage heart failure and I don't want any serious surgeries, transplant or defibrillator. I want to be covered in ink when I die. I've got scars from road rash to chainsaws. Lol I drink and stuff. Quality over Quantity. If I tattoo over a fake tattoo is that ok? How much are my "Conditions" really affecting my skin's ability to hold ink?
Thank you so much!! Super thanksssss!!! Your tips are GOLD!!
Hey, just discoverd your channel and I'm addicted already :)
I have no experience and want to learn. Probably a noob question ;) While watching I was wondering if there is a difference if you drag the line (from B to A) ...
Which bishop wand did use ??
The liner for this video.
Oh my god 3.09 mins then it gets started 🤔great vid good info thank you.
Yes these areas can be quite problematic especially if there’s a bit of lose skin. Thanks for watching mate, always appreciated!
They have this program here in the states that is 15,000$ to enter that want 3,900 down and 390$ a month in on a fixed budget so I'm basically teaching myself watching your videos,
can you post that mick thomson tattoo you were doing??
I related so much, and so hard on the first few senteces you've said, and lost the will to live. 😭😂
Love these videos my quality and technique has Improved tremendously
I’m glad the channel is helping you out. Thanks for watching!
Do you have a new tattoo on your throat?? 😍 Nice vid once again - thanks Jono, appreciate it! 😊
Why did you use a new needle for the second line?
So all the variables were the same. Like making an experiment as fair as possible. Thanks for watching!!
You are a great channel and I love watching your videos!
Thank you I really appreciate that!
Do you have any suggestions that can help me? Thanks 🙏poppy
Thanks Poppy. You should be able to buy too quality cartridges from any reputable tattoo supplier with no issues.
Is blood comming while doing .
What voltage were you at and was this a 3.5mm stroke? Very detailed video!
is it me or is your hand really shaky even when doing the "pro" line? but it comes out solid tho.
There’s actually a big story behind this which will be shared soon. Thanks for watching!
HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU GOT INTO THE DERMIS?
Hey mate.
You do very good lines but why are you hands shaking? I am new to the channel so idk if you've addressed it before, but even during the straight line your hands were shaking quite heavily
will you try the Neuma4 ?
What speed do u set the machine at?
Thank you Jono love your live examples
Thanks for watching!
I thank you so so much bro this really helps me get started on my journey
