Back in the mid Nineties I used to use this rig to present a string of 5 or 6 mini green and black crab flavoured boilies for Plaice fishing. Works very well
Great video mario I'm experimenting with it on the boat at the moment and I'm very impressed with its hook up rate and no more deep hooking, however I use a crochet needle for my baiting up I slide a whole squid over the hook part of the needle and after elasticating it, simply put the hook of the needle, into the bottom loop of braid and slide up, it works for me bud tight lines
Brilliant video Mario really well put together again and a nice and simple example of hair rig best I've seen yet. Thanks pal 👍 Take care and tight lines 👍
I'm new to sea fishing, that was a great informative video. It sound a bit naive of me but will ask anyway. On the hair rig thats attached to the hook- what is the reason for the loop on the bottom end of the hair rig, the reason I ask is because it stickes out doing nothing. Is there a reason why?
@@richardjones2811 Hi Richard. If there is a better way, please share. Also, what to you isn't good about it? Just out of curiosity. I find this way works well for me and has led to me catching more that another fish to stick to this method. Thanks for the comment, look forward to hearing back
@@marioasprou8548 Yeah man that way is great but more than 1 way to skin a cat. I use a crochet needle, load that with the bait then hook the little hook on the needle on the dongle loop and slide up.
Great demo - thank you. Question - how do you prevent the dingle dangle from coming off the circle hook? If it's out on the surf, it'll be moving around a bit and the wire loop could go over the barb. How do you prevent this?
Do you mind if I ask what bait clips you use with the dongle loop? Gemini splashdowns are my favourite bait clip but I wonder if they would work with this?
I've never tried it with braid but it may work. Could possibly use a heavier braid and splice the hook on which will give you a loop that should work the same as a perfection loop

Great video, most straight forward I've seen on TH-cam 👍

Just found your channel, great video demonstrating how to make the dongle rig, thanks for sharing

Better ways of baiting up a dongle but thanks for the info of how to fix it to a hook.

Great video Mario the best demo for the dongle I've seen Thanks
Do you use the dongle for cod? Cheers 👍
@@chrishale6190 thanks mate, yes I use it for pretty much everything. I'm going to be uploading an updated dongle rig this Sunday evening.
Great video. Very clear. Thanks 😊
A great, straightforward and well presented tutorial.
Will start practicing, tying the perfection knot.
Would a " rapala " knot work the same ? ?
I've never tried the rapala knot but I'm sure it would work
Brilliant demonstration 🙂
Very nicely explained, thanks for sharing!
Best Video I've seen on the Dongle Rig, Cheers just subbed 👍🎣🐟🐟
Thanks mate!
Looks great I'm going to try the rig myself are there any fish you wouldn't recommend using it for
Good Stuff....Showing The Baiting Up, Cheers!!! - 👍
Great explanation and great video thanks 🎣🐟👍

Hi mate, its not a wire dongle. It's braid. The dongle will never come off the hook with it being a barbed hook
Thanks. Great video.
Cheers for the helpful info
Good video, but Isnt this a hair rig, why not just use a knotless knot, or have i missed something?
Do you mind if I ask what bait clips you use with the dongle loop? Gemini splashdowns are my favourite bait clip but I wonder if they would work with this?
Hi mate I normally use imps but I've also used splashdowns. It will work with any bait clip
Great video Mario, what bait clips do you use for that hook length, and is it on a pully rig?
I use imps mate and yes for pulley rigs
@@marioasprou8548 thanks mate, I will have a crack at making some 👍🏻
Do you reuse yr dongle rig when changing yr bait
Will the perfection loop work with heavy mono of 150-200lb?
With heavy line like that, could you not use crimps to form the loop?
Great video, will be tying several of them 👏
Would 60lb braid do for the dongle??
I've never tried it with braid but it may work. Could possibly use a heavier braid and splice the hook on which will give you a loop that should work the same as a perfection loop
I’ll stick to carp fishing mr Mario 😂 I’ll let you set my rod up pal 💪🏼💪🏼
🎣🎣🐟🐟👍👍👍🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦
1 hook less than a pennel 🤷♂️
It's called a Dingle dangle, and it come from South Africa. not a dongle!
Bobs wrong again !
