Geoff Capes, there’s a blast from the past. If my long time memory is correct, he was a Police officer and bred budgies as a hobby as well as being a strong man athlete.
wish this had come out before Id brought that spool of line from China ! , do you know if the Cox & Rawle clip fits the trident roto bait clip ? a few others Ive tried are too small and a loop gets stuck between the moving parts, so Im forced to use a Imp or splashdown for a dongle rig currently
I use oval split rings, 19mm, the ones you get with white lead lifts. They fit perfect in a Gemini Solo, I tie the braid to the split part so the single part of ring fits in the Solo
When the bait is elasticated to the section of braid, the knots prevent it from sliding and keep it in place. Some anglers use an Octopus hook, but I find the hook up rate to be better with a circle. Hope that helps. Jansen

Thank you, Jansen. That really makes a rig simple and removes the mystique of rigging a dongle.
Excellent demonstration. Many thanks
Great simple explanation thank you 👍🏼

I use lighter braid and tie directly to the hook shank.
Much more confidence using it that way.

Exactly what he said ☝️👍
