I have a 2004, there is no screw holding that cover on, you have plastic barbs in front and metal spring clips on back, that screw was added to "fix" it. you also don't need to start the truck, key ON is all you need for power
My son is working on my 2001, just replaced all 4 window regulators and we have the same problem, I’m ordering a new driver door switch today! Thanks for the video!
Good stuff, thanks! My dad bought a new 2001 Quad Cab 4WD, two-tone blue and silver like your truck. He died in March 2011 but the truck has stayed in the family since he passed. I now own it and had this same window issue when I bought it off my sister about two weeks ago. A new master switch now allows the three non-driver door windows to function as they should!
What I figured out is that the lock windows button sticks in the down position even though you assume its up. Thanks to watching your video, cleaning up inside control buttons all my windows work great except on the passenger doors because of the control button not going all the way up. Ordered the new part as you did for $21. BTW it would be $73 for the Chrysler part. The off mkt has a better rating than the original part! THANKYOU for making a great video!
Ordered this part off amazon it came today I just installed it and guess what? Guess what? That was the problem. GOOD LOOKING OUT! since 2011 I've been the one to roll everyone's window down and now they can do it themselves. Thanks for the video
@realmanskills thank you for this video and explanation. Everybody that resoldered their PCB, how did you get the buttons off without breaking them. I tried, but stopped before breaking something. But I only tried prying each button from one side. Is there a special technique to prying them off, or just pull straight up with 2 screwdrivers, or something else?
You didn't even have to buy a new switch... if you would have took the switch apart to the contacts, you would see that the contacts get blacked and charred from electrical contact... I had the sam issues and all I did was took some Q-Tips and rubbing alcohol and cleaned all copper contacts and they all work since...
You Sir, just saved me from having to order a new master switch. I did exactly what you said to do and used an air hose to blow everything out and clean. The Q-Tip and alcohol tip worked to perfection. Glad I scrolled down and read your reply. Thank you! 👍😊
I had the same problem and then was two option buy new piece and 30 bucks or try to fix it I opened it and that was a soldering broke next to the switch to control the back windows I just fixed it with a soldering iron and works like magic
Did you ever take that photo/video? Breaking it apart has been a nuisance too, took the six screws off the back and don’t know how to detach the buttons
I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota and the master seems to be shorting out. The front passenger switch doesn’t work but the rest do even on the master switch except for the drivers front as of today. Some of them seem to not work off the master switch unless you rock them and press down on them and they’ll go up. But now the drivers front won’t go up. I’m thinking it’s in the master switch which you described in your scenario. Any ideas on anything different?
@@RealManSkills That’s what I ended up doing and it fixed the problem!! Thank you for the video it helped a lot!! Unfortunately the cheapest master switch for a 2000 Dodge Dakota I could find was $126 from O’Reilys but it fixed the problem. I really do appreciate the help!
@@RealManSkills yea, Amazon, but I threw the original one out already, I just had to replace my blower resister and wiring because of a burnt connection, I'm wondering if there might not be the same issue with the window plug connection, I'm going to check that later.
@@stacyostler1731 I have had to replace the blower resisters on two dodge dakotas. Found out that they were melting because the blower fan itself was faulty and causing the wires to overload. Too much drag. Keep that in mind if you continue to have a problem. Not hard to replace the whole blower assembly.
@@RealManSkills good to know! And I feel like an idiot lol was checking all the connections and realized the lock button was engaged... must have hit it on accident 🤦♀️
Same issue for my 2002 dakota ,I changed my switch from passenger side like you, I finally found your video and I on my way to change the driver door switch ! Thank you for making this video 👍
test the wires going to the window motor when the switch is depressed. If voltage is there, you have a dead motor. If no voltage, then the switch for THAT window is bad (still need to buy the whole thing though)
My father owns a 2004 regular cab Dakota. It doesn't have the lock window button. It is experiencing intermittent problems with the passenger controls not working. I will continue to research. Thank you.

I think that you should change the same large switch that I did. It was less than $20 from Amazon. Worth a try.
If you could help me please what is the name of the master switch to search for on Amazon I can't seem to find it thank you

I have a 2000 Durango and first my back window didn't work now all the windows dont work. Does anyone know how to fix?
Do you have an video showing how to change the regulator?
If you mean the fan speed regulator, no. But I've done it, and it's simple (unless you are too big to get under the dashboard).
I've had the same problem and bought this part, the windows worked independently for a day, now they don't light up or work anymore?? Any suggestions?
Can you return it for another? Maybe you got a faulty unit.

I just need the plastic bezel. Can’t find one nowhere for 2001 dodge Dakota quad cab.
Seriously did u ever find one
I've been looking and I got a part but it wasn't the right one it was just a small peice
Thank you soooo much. You've just saved me time money and alot of frustration
Glad I could help
If you reheat the solder on the back of the circuit board you don't have to buy new. Worked on mine.
Thanks for the info.
