They believe you should have to spend the twenty years and mega money to figure it out on your own too. I'm just trying to make memories with my boys and ripping lips on monster bass is our dream!!! So I REALLY appreciate what your doing for us with your channel. Had I not found some of you guys, I probably wouldn't have attempted it, but as I've watched people like you freely dispense your knowledge, I said hey, I think we can go out there and just murder some big bass. So last week I got us some lews Walmart Xfinity baitcasters and a spinner. Found a 1232 jonboat. Going to try nedrig, chatterbait with strike king crawtrailer and the kvd shortbill crank. I'm hoping the shortbill will be our fave. I'd love to see my kid crank it and then just get nailed by a monster. 1000 bucks later. Favorite spring bait is definitely the chatterbait. A white chatterbait with any type of chartreuse trailer will always be tied on from now until winter, just catches the snot out of them. Thanks for some great info!
My go to for right out of winter, beginning of spring while the water is still cold is a ZMan ned rig. Once the water begins to warm up I typically transition into something with a little more action to get the attention of the fish like a swim jig or square bill crank.
G'day Alex great video I loving square bill crank baits at moment and you are right! when you throw into some heavy cover (snags galore ) Just watch your line guys. If it starts to lift up a bit your line is going over a snag just stop it! Let it float back up for a bit then start winding it again it will go back down the opposite side of that snag! Just watch your line you will see what I'm on about! But it dose take practice to get the timing right when to stop the lure. but like I said just watch your line to get the timing right. Favorite spring time bait, was a spinner bait but the more I use the bladed jig. The more I love it. So the bladed jig is taking over. I was at Douglas lake this past weekend. Wow the water was down, couldn't understand with all the rain you and we have had. Looked like an awesome lake to try once the water comes back.

My favorite is flipping a Texas rig with either a Man-Bear Pig, D-Bomb or a BrushHog OR a jig. If they are picky then a weightless senko or a shaky head depending if they want it on the bottom or on the fall.

Alex, My number 1 anytime of the year is some sort of jig. Shaky Head, swim jig, Jig Rig Etc. I have a variety of sizes and shapes ranging from trout to bass sized up to about 3/4oz. This means a variety of trailers and sizes to fit a wide range of conditions. It is my confidence bait.
The Rapala Husky Jerk is hard to beat on the Great Lakes coastlines. You can nail bass (smallmouth & largemouth) but also trout (steelhead & brown trout) and salmon (cohos & kings).

Being new to Bass fishing, I haven't fished for the Spring time bite, yet! I'm looking forward to it, based on all the vids I've watched, as well as my brother's stories and pics of the Bass he catches. With that said, I love chatterbaits. My first time Bass fishing was the Summer of last year and my brother told me they do well, so I ended up buying one. I've caught several fish with it and love using it when I can! Love your channel and a lot of good info for a newer Bass fisherman like myself.

Best blade bait anytime of year is a rage blade pro tour! 2 to 1 against the others! Nobody mentions it but over some grass it's amazing! In the rocks I treat it like a jig! Never stop fishing brother!

Because of the large walley population in my home lake I love a crankbait. I know in March and April I can catch bass and walley on it off the rocks. Targeting both species with one bait makes for a more exciting day!
Damn thats a loaded question. My favorite depends on what lake I'm fishing. First Ice out Vision 110, tube, weightless zoom fluke...as spring gets going and water around 50 then a chatterbait, swimjig, rattltrap...golden rule never ever rule out a jig with a zoom super chunk! But dont always fish it slow, I find STROKING a jig is killer and you don't need warm water to crush them on this technique. Try it!

the bass love perch up here in MA in the spring and the jackall rerange in the RT perch is money! easily one of the best perch finishes I've ever seen on a Jerkbait!
My favorite spring lure is the strike king pond magic spinner bait in nest robber and a z man white and chartreuse chatter bait with a zoom super fluke jr in white ice color as a trailer on my h2o express classic rod with a Lews speed spool
I like the Spro Little John in spring. Similar to the KVD 1.5 (also a great bait) in its ability to deflect off structure and not get hung up, but it has a rubber coated tungsten ball for a completely different sound in the water.
The lipless and a small plastic swimbait . Its a tie for me .Here in upstate NY I have to start in the river for smallies . Ice gives way there first. The two baits above just get it done when the water temps are still cold and fish are lethargic. Awesome selection of baits . The bladed jig is my favorite bait to throw by far but looking to crank a bunch more this year .
Absolutely love top-water fishing so my "favorite" springtime bait is definitely a FROG. As soon as I think there is the slightest chance that the fish might hit something on top that frog comes out and I have landed some nice fish on it a lot earlier than most people would even thing about bringing it out.

I’ve always liked a Shad Rap in yellow perch. It’s tight wiggle fits the cold water and the color makes it appear as a crawdad as well as a bream.

My favorite springtime date is any lipless crank half ounce in a craw pattern. I love the red-eye shads in a chrome or gold pattern as well.

Live in southern Missouri. Love the finesse worm and jerk bait.
