    Matt: Giving the BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front) on the two jigs that you would use if limited to two was a stroke of genius. Keep doing that. When you give us the punchline at the beginning, it sells the rest of the video. In addition, if we don’t have enough time to watch the whole vid the short teaching point at the beginning is money. Thanks.

      @@Gulb180 My biggest piece of advice would be get the proper setup, flip that thing into the jungle, and reel down before hookset. I use a G Loomis e6x 7'6" Heavy flipping model paired with a Lews Super Duty lfs reel. On my river there is not much grass so I flip lay downs and wood piles and have found big ones in them Spring through Fall.

    Super Matt Brown is pretty much all I use. Dirty jigs or Keitech is all you need. Pick a trailer and catch the big ones. I’m not sure how you can put out another video on jigs and trailers and make it better than the last one but you do it every time.

    Just caught my biggest so far this year, a 4lb 14oz pre spawn female here in OK. Pitched it to the other side of of a stump. Had a half oz boss outdoors wood walker jig with a balk/red, brown and orange craw color with a ultravibe speed craw in red bug. It was fun getting through all that brush!!

    One of my favorite baits is a 6 sense divine swim jig it caught my Pb of 8.70 and a bunch of 4s and 5s . In magic bluegill for spawn

    • @PrestonMartin
      @PrestonMartin 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lexm0 That swimjig is legit. I throw it a lot. It catches big ones, small ones, open water, grass, docks, wood, ponds, lakes, and rivers. Only complaint is the primer under the paint is bright white. The head starts to look funny after the paint chips off. Doesn't seem to affect the bites though.

      The Divine Swim Jig in Pearl Ice is definitely one of my top winter baits. Paired with a Zoom Super Swimming Fluke Jr, it is a fish catching machine. One day I was fishing for around 4 hours with no bites, and I switched over to the Divine Swim Jig and in the next hour I caught at least 6 bass over a pound. Also, their lipless called the Quake Thud is amazing. I almost had a 3 pounder the other day, it came off right at the bank...

    Brother you answered everything I needed to know because I had me a like a wacky jig head or easy wide gap that I put my beaver on just a hop around the cover but once I put it on the back of my trailer on my swim jig and all my chatter bait I got hit and the Beaver style T or DZ man’s they are like the crawdad a 2.75 inch they are amazing and I’ve done caught three pounders lip hitting them I don’t know if that makes me a better fisherman that I can lift fish through the nose by the way I feel them biting and sucking on my line that’s why I say if I get onto a gas boat a real bass boat instead of these trolling motor boats up here in Maryland in the Lock Raven reservoirs without a 72 V ray motor you can’t really beat the fish the way you would like to but you answered all my questions and you’re absolutely right I got the same exact color from innovation reactions and honestly 2017 is when I first use their paddle tails of the sexy shed color and I use them for trailers on my chatter baits and I switch them upside down so the towel would be upside down but that was my biggest question to watch the video was to see about the beaver bait should I do it on a Texas or Carolina set up or I’m popping in usually I use a half ounce jig in the back that’s weedless for the wait I know people can do a Texas or Carolina rig all different types of ways and still called the same thing common sense is common sense and I don’t believe a lot of fishermen have that I believe if it wasn’t for lotta great friends in the industry a lot of people would be lost and I thank you guys for what you do I know you’re making a buck but hey I’ll make a book every day and try to make a dollar every day but sometimes I ain’t got the energy to speak on things so my hats off to you man keep seeing these good videos because center later I’ve been taking all the information for the last nine months on here and during my injury and I applied it to my since January of this year I caught my first 5950 smallmouth largemouth hybrid I had no lateral line and I didn’t understand what type of fish I had I know it was a largemouth bass because he hit that stunner jerk bait and like the ripped it right out my hand but I landed it and for that starfish it was my personal best at 5.5 pounds I just wish we had more opportunities up here and a lot of times money comes in the play especially during a pandemic I run a little small service plumbing business and I’m very good at what I do my favorite is kitchens and bathrooms I love to redo kitchens and bathrooms but what I love the most is watching of bronze back tail walk it’s something about coconut fish and bring them to the boat

    Goal of 2020 is to get confidence in the jig and spinnerbait. Thanks for making the perfect vids that cover all I will be focusing on fishing this spring. I’m in eastern Washington so we have a super good smallmouth population and would love to have some smallmouth specific videos to help me out with when to downsize and when to use the same baits as you would for largies. The different areas smallies go and different tendencies ect. I know you guys sprinkle in smallmouth tips but would love to see a video or two dedicated only to smallies considering all those videos are for people on the Great Lakes or Midwest and not the west coast. Thanks for another banger!

    Matt, if you were fishing a lake that had a combination of muddy/stained/clear water, would you pick 3 different colors or would you prefer to pick an all-around good color for it? My local lake is kind of all over the place as far as water color/clarity goes. Usually deep in the weeds, it's relatively clear, but most of the lake is greenish water, and near the creeks that fill it, it gets kinda muddy.

    • @ScuffedEngineer
      @ScuffedEngineer 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Green Pumpkin with Black and Blue as a combo, some companies do it, as for trailers you can find them more easily available with that color combo such as reaction innovations tramp stamp or just put the color you want to stand out more depending on water color.

    Try a 1oz Hack Attack Jig- no skirt trimmed- with a full size Rage Lobster. Pitch it at stumps and fish it like a square bill- run it into wood; pop it hard- and then let it fall. Been hammering bass all spring in 49-55 degree water on it. Giants.

    i just ordered a GLX 854C and im super nervous about it as it’s my most expensive Rod purchase to date. I own an 822s IMX Pro Mag Medium DSR which is frankly the perfect shaky head drop shot and 2.8 keitech rod on the market.... obviously you can go higher in price with GLX and NRX and they’d be better but the 822s in general is amazing. I’m hoping this 854c can be a bit more versatile than what i’ve seen of it, i think i can use it for open water weighted t rigs and jig to heavy cover lily pads

Also, can TacticalBassin do some reviews of TFO rods this year???? I know TFO are one of the top manufacturers in the fly rod world, and them working with G Loomis before I think they could be in consideration for getting looked at!

    There’s just something about pitching a jig somewhere and landing a big one right where she should be

    Listen up folks and I can't stress this enough. These get Big Big bites. Sometimes the bites on and you can catch just as many as you would throwing a drop shot, but something about jigs will put a gorilla on the end of your line. I've gone completely down the rabbit hole of jig fishing just because of the size increase of fish I started catching. Its consistent and it works tight lines

    Hey Matt, just wondering, for the swim jig why don’t you throw it in a black and blue?

    Are these rods medium heavy power, moderate action?

    Matty, why do like the lighter line 8-12 lb in clearer water? What’s wrong with 20 lb? Are you referencing that that line is too big and the bass will see it and less bites verse the 8-12?

    Matt, in one jig video you recommend for the budget jig rod the slx 7'5" med hvy, and in this one you recommend the 7'5" hvy. What do I need to consider if I'm only going to get one, and I have a Bass X 7'4" heavy but want a dedicated jig rod. I appreciate any help.

    So you think it would be acceptable to fish a football in a grassy, natural lake in the midwest? The weeds aren't terribly thick, especially in the spring

    Wondering when to throw a tungsten or regular lead head jig.. little confused

    • @richardbossman9875
      @richardbossman9875 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tungsten is the " better" option all around because it is smaller at the same weight as lead and transmits bottom type better but it is also considerably more expensive. I think personally that fishing with braid and a decent rod gets you most of the sensitivity you'll need in jig fishing, being made with tungsten is just the icing on the cake.
