    ok two things. well, three. 1) the bmpcc is one of the greatest cameras ever created. 2) I still dont know how to upscale footage. do a tutorial on that lol.. 3) subscribed ! amazing piece man.

      Thank you! I really enjoy your videos too! The ones you made with the 14-42mm kit lens made me go out and grab that lens right away. Great job! I don't like the Mega IOS on that lens so I'm now looking for the smaller 14-42 with Power IOS.

      Thanks! I honestly appreciate your comments. I have really enjoyed each video, the cinematographic sense that you convey creates a spectacular narrative.

    I have owned GH5, A7SII, Digital Bolex, RED, Sony F35, Bmpcc 6K, Canon R5 etc.
    The OG bmpcc beats them all easily except for maybe the Bolex, they are both fantastic looking!

    • @AIBEKNEO
      @AIBEKNEO 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tell me please! BMМСС is also like Pocket and Bloex? The sensor is the same (bmpcc).

    • @edwardenciu
      @edwardenciu  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aibek Akaev The digital bolex is different but the bmmcc and the bmpcc-original have the same internal imager/sensor. The bmmcc has 60fps for slow motion which is great

    • @AIBEKNEO
      @AIBEKNEO 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@edwardenciu It seems to me that the pocket looks like a film strip like a bolex. bmmcc is similar to bmcc and bmcc 2.5k

    • @Snowboy2015
      @Snowboy2015 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      beats them in terms of what? I like the analog film look as much as the next dullard, but I think you nostalgia seekers need to let go of the past and accept that cinematography has progressed. long live the bmpcc4k and 6k!

    • @patrik.clifford
      @patrik.clifford 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Snowboy2015 Beats them in color, how it renders motion, highlight rolloff, true stops above middle grey, codec (true cinema DNG), and more in my opinion... :-)

    @spencerh20 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The reverse slow-mo shot is incredible! How on earth did you manage that with the 30fps in camera cap?? Did you drop it into a 60fps timeline and slow it down then? just awesome.

    • @edwardenciu
      @edwardenciu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks!! Nothing special at all. The waves seems slower up there in Northern California, lol. Someone else asked how I slowed down the footage on a another video I shot on that same trip (the Davenport Pier video also here on YT). It’s simply 30fps conformed down to 24fps in a 24fps timeline. The real magic is in the ogPocket with Panasonic lenses.

    Great footage! Makes me want to go out and shoot with my OG pocket right now! Did you use an ND filter to cut out additional light?

    • @edwardenciu
      @edwardenciu  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you! Yeah, I used basic low-cost fader ND filters.

    Thanks for sharing your experience. I would like to test the color grading on my desktop using davinci resolve but unfortunately I can't find any raw or prores footage to experiment with. Would it be possible to share some seconds of original footage? I am sure that a lot of people will appreciate that. Thanks in advance...

    • @edwardenciu

      @@edwardenciuis that how you upscaled the footage? In resolve?

    • @edwardenciu
      @edwardenciu  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Cinegavo yes, that's correct. I upscaled the project settings to a 4K resolution and applied 2x superscale to all of the clips with medium sharpening and low noise reduction (after editing it in 1080).

    • @Cinegavo
      @Cinegavo ปีที่แล้ว

      @@edwardenciu nice. I was thinking of buying the studio version of Resolve because I have the same camera and really need this. Is it worth it?

    • @edwardenciu
      @edwardenciu  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Cinegavo If all you need is superscaling then I think you can roll back to ver 15 or something similar where it was still included in the lite version. But yes, imo, it's definitely worth every penny.
