Worth noting: with a Lyre of Building you can cast Mending on your Steel Defender to regain 2d6 hp. It changing from a minute to an Action cast time makes it usable during battle.
I love the Idea of a Battle Smith Artificer. Dwarven plate, Staves of Power and Magi, the Lyre, Animated Shield and a gem of spell storing 6th-9th (the higher the better) or at least a ring of spell storing. If you really want to go crazy, be a small creature and ride your Defender into combat.
The Bloodwell vial is also surprisingly useful... _if_ you have the Metamagic Adept feat. It never specifies class when it comes to spells, and can be used as a focus while _worn._ The effect where it restores Sorcery Points, however, is only useful if you have Sorcery Points to expend, hence the Metamagic Adept feat.
here's an item i'd have liked to have seen. Cauldron of Rebirth, very rare, sourced from tasha's, normally requires druid or warlock. extra Benefits: spellcasting focus, component for the scrying spell, free greater healing potion per long rest, Main feature, as an action you grow the cauldron to fit a medium sized creature, if you put a corpse of a humanoid in the cauldron and cover it in salt for 8 hours, instead of people jerky, you instead the corpse comes back to life as if per the raise dead spell. can be used once per week. saves you 490 gp when bringing someone back, and pretty sure artificers dont get raise dead as a spell. combined with the free healing potion every day, pretty darn good option, especially for say an alchemist artificer.
Personally, if an item said, to use your example, that it gives a bonus to your bard spells, I would DM rule it that if used by an artificer it would give that boost to their artificer spells, instead. If they are a bard/artificer, I would make them choose either bard OR artificer spells to be affected.
I think I would make a case for the Dragon Touched Focus. Specifically the Metallic variant for Fizban's Platinum Shield. And also the ability to basically overcharge a spell to 9th level. Advantage on initiative rolls isn't bad either. Me personally, I would love this on an Armorer or Artillerist.
I played a high level artificer and got a staff of woodlands in a rise of tiamat campaign. As a final move, i used the tree form to escape as the temple was collapsing in our final battle.
All the ones that add spells are even better in a thief than they are on the artificer. The other big deal for the thief is spell scrolls. They can use ones from every class!

@@NerdImmersion it’s very unclear cause for example it has that thing about ignoring lvls but only like 2 items care about lvls for example the holy avenger would you get the 20 lvl aura and for the scrolls would you need to make the check to case a 9th lvl scroll
@@HavocTheWendigo scrolls have nothing to do with lvl they require the slot lvl and it being on your list and nothing to do with character level do try to read the books it's not hard you can probably even get the vasic rules in audio books by now
I recommend not including third party authored content like critical role for things that should be applicable on most tables. Most are not allowed to take deeply setting specific content like mark of warding dwarf, backgrounds with feats from strixhaven and similar. They are also poorly tested and often ends up somewhat gamebreaking because of it. Example is the echo knight and chronomancy wizard but extends to some of the spells and magical items. I only ever recommend to allow setting specific content in oneshots and in their setting. Otherwise it is ask first. This is because setting specific content is purposefully designed to give you something MORE POWERFUL that other things and more gamechanging because they are designed to work in the settings environment. The settings environment is also usually designed to cope with these things. Outside of the setting they often overshadow the other options. For example an abjuration wizard is ten times tronger if they are allowed to play mark of warding dwarf. They basically gain a free character level with the included spell slots and extra spells and all sorts of goodness. Other examples are the sentinel echo knight ranged melee combat and extra attack each attack action in combination with gloomstalker. Or why not just all the chronomancy rerolls that makes divination wizard look like absolute garbage in comparison? Nah. Play these in the settings and in oneshots but dont expect to play them on tables outside of their intended setting. They are usually banned in my experience :( But I mean, power sells so ofcourse their stuff is designed and intended to be more powerful.
It is 1st party technically but you're right in that many tables don't allow setting specific material (for all of the balance reasons you quoted as well as how flawed the CR content is)
There is no way for Ted to know what is and isn't "played at most tables". If it's published by WotC then it's good for Adventurers League. While WotC is moving more and more to setting agnostic, you would be limiting the list to just the pub and tasha's essentially. Plus, as an aside, until Tasha's, the Artificer class has mostly been setting specific.

what about top 10 items to replicate using the replicate magic item infusion?
Illusionist's Bracers- use your bonus action and action to cast Booming Blade twice- just like Extra Attack, but better.
That should have been on the other list if anything since this list is what their special ability allows them to extraordinarily attune to.

Honestly, just reflavor Nature's Mantle into a cloaking device and it fits. Bulky armor, disappearing like the Predator while still making attacks.
