Ted: Artifcers are a support class Me dming a game where a armorer had an AC of 21 at lvl 3 and routinely tanks better then the barbarian " oh you're just adorable.... (insane giggles)"
Yup and 22 at level 6 and 24 at level 10. 2 level dip into war wizard for arcane deflection adds 4 to reactionary saving throws and the shield spell for 29 AC.
The Stirring Chromatic part of the Dragon-Touched Focus is great if you're an Alchemist Artificer because it stacks with Alchemical Savant, which gives a bonus equal to your intelligence modifier to spells that deal Fire, Poison, Acid and Necrotic damage (the odd one out being Necrotic).
These are great! I always wondered why artificers didn't have detect magic or identify as a class feature. Even if you scaled the information they would get per the class level (similar to the cobalt soul extract aspects)
The real crime is that Artificers don't have Mending as a class feature. Instead they have to spend one of the precious two cantrips they get to have it.
Love it! Really looking forward to the one next week. I'm honestly a bit stumped on what yo use for Magical Savant items so keen to see what you have in mind!
Thanks for another great video Ted. Some items on there that I'd never have considered and my players probably aren't aware of, so certainly gives me ideas of what to sprinkle into treasure drops. Thank you.
Ok homebrew ideas that i always felt only artificer could do would be to combine the eyes of the eagle, eyes of minute seeing and goggles of night together into one item. You just need to have to flip down the right lenses.
This is actually something I’m working with my dm to have for my character lmao. Her owl like goggles have different switches on both sides which would activate the different types of eyes 😂
Last session I was able to get a Scaled Ornament (+1 AC; can't be charmed or frightened at the Rare tier) which I personally find better for my Armorer (other subclasses may vary) as I'm often put into a tank/secondary frontline role. Fizban's stuff is great.
Only issue with Mizzium Armor on this list, is that Armorer subclass cannot use this, since their subclass Armor cannot be a magical suit of armor. I am trying to talk my GM into letting me get some Mizzium to infuse my Artificer armor and use an Infusion slot for it.
The Arcane Armor feature CAN be used with magical armor. Magical armors just can't have Infusions so it's probably not worth it especially when you get Armor Modifications at 9th level.
Monks didn't get a class item in Tasha's because they got the pretty awesome Dragonhide Belt in Fizban's. The other three martial classes didn't get items either, though could argue that magical weapons are kind of their version of that. Still, Dragonhide Belts. I'd have preferred if they added to attack as well as DC, to make them on par with the other items. Still really cool
Small note about the Blast Scepter: it is an arcane focus, but artificers cannot use arcane foci for their artificer spells. If its description just stated "you can use this as a spellcasting focus for your spells" it would be different.
The page he has pulled up says the Blast Scepter gives you resistance to Fire and Lightning damage, not thunder. Was he misspeaking or is D&D Beyond wrong?
I am also really partial to Molten Bronze armor on an armorer. With a full plate version, you can wear plate and be really sneaky. Plus, it let me take like 4 fireballs to the face at level 8.
You only need to be attuned to store spell in the gem. Once they're stored anyone with the spell on their class spell list can cast them. Now your wizard can store a *tiny hut* that an Arcane Trickster Rogue, Eldritch Knight Fighter, a bard, a Mark of Hospitality halfling or potentially level 13 Thief rogues or level 14 artificers can cast as an action. (This is especially good for sniper builds.) With an Amber or better spell gem you could store a *fabricate* for instant battlefield deployment. Instantly turn the stone under someone's feet into a 5' cage? Turn your opponent's armor into shackles? Make a bridge or ladder out of the lumber in a wall? Get your cleric to store an emergency *prayer of healing* for AOE heals. Hit level 14 and borrow spells from other party members. Have the paladin cast *find steed* into it and now you have a mount. Get a *find familiar* from the wizard. If you have some downtime (and a Jade or better spell gem) get a druid to store an *awaken* or *planar binding* for later use. Instant awakened tree or awakened hostile beast charmed for 30 days, or polymorph an enemy into a T-rex and awaken and charm it for a fun combo. Or use *planar binding* to take over extraplanar enemies. I'm sure if you think about it you could find other fun combos.
my artillerist is literally everything. 80hp at lvl 9 with 18ac. in our curse of strahd game i got turned on the party and it became a real problem, specially since i had made our cart into basically a moving fortress.
Curious if you would allow this, Ted. Large PC, wearing robe of stars, grapples and picks up medium enemy NPC. Next action goes astral (technically carrying enemy), drops enemy in astral plane, uses next action to return. Enemy (no longer carried) is stranded in astral plane. 🤔
Random question, any thoughts on Kibblestasty's Psion class or crafting system? Introduced the crafting system to my campaign and will be trying out the psion soon. Very neat homebrew.
I do not believe the gem says it casts a long spell as an action. It says the spell must have a casting time of 1 action or 1 minute or longer, so you can't put BA spells in it. A 1 minute spell would still take 1 minute to cast with the gem.

What book does it say that artificers can make and helmet of teleportation not trying to sound judgmental legitimately curious
All purpose tool is just so far above the curve, a level 6 artificer with it has expertise on everything lmao.
The All Purpose Tool is a screwdriver is because it was obviously inspired by Doctor Who's Sonic Screwdriver.

Robe of Stars is a favorite magical item of mine…it’s the perfect cosmic flavor for any character remotely interested in SPACE.

Great list, first I heard of the All-Purpose Tool, I want one lol.
Onward to 100k! Enjoying the updated top 10 lists. They help with me as the DM choose the pc magical items
Love it! Really looking forward to the one next week. I'm honestly a bit stumped on what yo use for Magical Savant items so keen to see what you have in mind!
And hey, the All-Purpose Tool being a screwdriver basically makes you The Doctor also.

Love a Top 10 Tuesday! Great video as always
I can’t believe that I haven’t heard about the spell gems before, though being from OotA mostly explains things
Another quality video, Ted, as usual. Also, 👍👍👍 on the new intro and closing segments.
Ooh, I’m liking the new intro
You’re so close to 100,000!!!!!

I hate to be a wizard main and always go last on this kind of videos. Jokes apart, this is great, thanks
To be fair, since Tasha's Artificers have gotten nothing even with books where we expected crumbs at least, Spelljammer...
Monks didn't get a class item in Tasha's because they got the pretty awesome Dragonhide Belt in Fizban's. The other three martial classes didn't get items either, though could argue that magical weapons are kind of their version of that.

They need something that adds or benifets their stunning strike imo. Or gives them back ki on a crit that would be cool.
@@DeadpoolAli Dragonhide Belt increases DC of stunning strike and gives back ki as an emergency fallback

Did I say thunder? If so I misspoke. I think I knew the spell was Thunderwave and my brain just course corrected to thunder
@@NerdImmersion honestly, it makes more sense that it would grant resistance to thunder and lightning.
Hell, I just realized that I original wrote "Boat Scepter". Lol. Now I want to know what that Scepter would do?

This is great Artificier item list.
Spell storing gem: I'm not sure a single spell slot is worth an attunement slot all the time. But I'm playing the front-line Battle-Smith Artificer.
You only need to be attuned to store spell in the gem. Once they're stored anyone with the spell on their class spell list can cast them. Monks for the dragonhide belt to boost ki saves and ki replenishment
Should consider doing one for hexblades they play very different from standard locks and need diff items
Mind sharpener is pretty awesome
Do you think an all-purpose tool could also be enhanced as a dragon touched focus?
Probably a touch OP.
Wonder if we could get a top 10 fizbands monsters as a follow up to the full monster video...thats a thing right, no way we skippdd that XP

Take from this video... Ted needs a working crystal ball, lol.
Am I reading it correctly that the Blast Scepter has no limit on the amount of times you can cast that Thunderwave spell? It seems a little insane.
Correct no limit on Thunderwave
@@NerdImmersion That's a little ridiculous, isn't it? 4th level Thunderwave every turn on any character? Nuts.

The item says that you can use an action to cast a spell from the gem. This means using the item overwrites the casting time of the spell
