Great stories and video. Two new favorite quotes: "Not everything is about you." and "You're bound to the people around you and the people that bring you joy." Safe travels.

I agree with the points you made in this video. Traveling broadens your perspective on life , removes prejudice , makes you appreciate what you have at home and inspires you to do things better if you see that somewhere else they are able to do them better. I wish you safe travels and always happy returns home.

Excellent and very insightful post. I resonated with story #2 very much. Spent some time in Zimbabwe, Africa a number of years ago on a medical mission trip. The local people were clearly among the most joyful, giving, and wonderful people I have ever met. By "western standards", they were very poor with their small mud huts and thatched roofs. But, their hearts were full and they radiated such joy for living--makes me well-up every time I think about them. Proof that it's not the "things" that are important, or have deep meaning, it's people, family, and relationships.

    I agree with you 100%...
It is just so heartwarming and refreshing to watch your videos because they are so genuine and from the heart. I've spent time on medical mission trips in Central and South America and I am absolutely humbled each time. By the way, can we just take a moment to appreciate your belly laughs at the end of the video?!

Just discovered your channel, I’ll tell you what I like about what you say. It’s genuine, authentic, and comes from the heart. So well done for not putting your ego on the front line like most pilots channel do. Your channel deserves to thrive and touch other crew members and passengers all around the world.

Just came across your channel, this is the second blog I have watched . Your stories are great and very uplifting. I love to travel and love to hear of others adventures. When I start off on a trip, I often think that the journey is what matters more than the destination..Be safe!

That was awesome! Hearing you guys laugh at the end on the water was actually heart warming. I reference it to hearing little children laugh or babies laugh when their parents are playing with them. It’s the utmost purity of the laugh that you know comes from so deep that it’s perfect! Thank you for sharing

So Very true. When you go to Romania and Serbia you’ll really appreciate the US. It was hard to realize that are local guide couldn’t get even a visa to visit the US, despite assuring our government that she would return to Romania. Thank you for your videos. I’m finding places I want to visit.

I am terrified of flying and have refused to fly for the last 40 years. but now as I’m about to retire, I realize I’ll die in the next 10 to 20 years and I won’t have seen anything I’ve dreamed of. so I’m getting on flights, going overseas and finally seen my long awaited exotic locations these last 5 years. I’m still terrified, but it’s fun.

I work at a resort with people from all over the country and all over the world. Part of my job is going to pick up the internationals at the airport or the bus station. For many of the international employees, it is their first time in the United States, and I'm their first point of contact upon arrival. Referencing my travels, I know what they're going though: New country, new culture, new language. Oh, and jet lag! If it turns out I've been to their country before, or I know a few words of their language, I'll use that to break the ice and calm their nerves. They usually open up after that. Travel teaches you empathy!

I agree with you and having stuff is alright but there is more to life than material goods. I also like your story about your grandfather and it says that you are not the center of the universe. I traveled mostly within the US and worked with people from all over the world and learned things from traveling and listening to people's experiences both good and bad.

I’m curious, you said the company pays for your hotel and ride when you’re away, but how many days do you stay away before flying back?

Here I am watching this, used to want to be a pilot. But now considering new jobs that are still remote but require %60-70 travel each week. Is that about how often pilots travel?

That’s about right. Over the course of a normal month, we’re gone anywhere between 12-17 days depending on your seniority.
