I love how many absolutely horrendous talent show Eruption covers there are on youtube and then there’s you absolutely nailing a way more difficult live version

So nervous before going out there and then not being able to see the audience because of the spotlight. Also that half stack was a bitch to bring LOL
Its actually ideal to not try to emulate artists that influence us . Is makes it harder to find out own personality as artists if were trying to be someone else

When they said it, I just figured they were being hype men, but they were not lying. That was literally incredible. I'm a guitar player myself, and someone else said as well, most Eruption covers are alright, but a lot of missed notes and mistakes, but I didn't hear any noticeable mistakes. This was pretty clean all the way through. I'd say 98% perfect. There was someone else who did Eruption for a talent show here on youtube, and he did Sweet Child O Mine along with it, and he nailed it. Like, you can tell he was a seasoned guitar player. Just like you. What makes yours more impressive is that you had to transcribe the Live Without a Net version. Eruption by itself isn't really that hard, if you're into tapping. (I'm not into tapping, so I've haven't spent as much time with it) but if tapping is something you practice regularly, then I'd say Eruption is one of the easier pieces that involve tapping. Your's isn't just Eruption, it's an intricate solo on top of a guitar solo from a live show. You did fantastic bro, I was legit impressed. That's why I said, your friends weren't lying when they called you the Korean Eddie Van Halen. Because you might as well be the Korean Eddie Van Halen. 😂 Keep playing bro 👍
@@cs-7 yeah it was a little tricky finding the intervals he was playing. and sonetimes the camera didn't show his fingers lol. I can't believe I still remember where I first heard and saw Live Without a Net and thinking I will never be able to play it. Was in the back of my dad's Tundra @night. We were looking at land or houses or something.
@@drdre4397 blackmore is one of the other greatest guitarists too if not for him and jimmy page and eric clapton or hendrix eddie van halen wouldnt have made the leaps and strides in the same degree possibly without their influence as well all in all theyre all awesome to learn from especially evh

I think I was @4 or 5 on the lead channel master gain. Micing helped with projection even though it was just mono L&R. Auditorium was a little wide for that 4×12 cab I think.

From another guitarists perspective, it was great, since it was a little faster it was hard to actually know it was eruption, but hey it was still great
Talk about a skilled and very talented guitarist. If u r listening 2 this but not viewing it, u would think it was Eddie Van Halen himself. Those licks and riffs r extremely difficult play and master. I can honestly say that 2 do Eruption, one cannot have a girlfriend. They would just get in the way of ur totally intense practicing of said. I've finally learned how 2 play it as well, but it took me 2 long years 2 acquire the speed and fashion that of Eddie. I am a perfect listener. I know if one note or lick is wrong and this kid nailed it😉👍🎸🎶

Just think that this kid brought the sounds of Van Halen...an outstanding and accurate replication of guitar's Americana...to an audience that might never otherwise heard this. I've been playing guitar for over 30 years, and I have to say that I am beside myself watching this. This kid is disciplined, dedicated, and has an incredible guitar teacher. At that age, with intense practice, progress comes quickly. But, mastery, at his age, is rare.
Everyone's talking about the pick throw and how closely it resembles the live version, but why is nobody talking about the small thumb's up he did just like Eddie at 3:41

Not only does he have the Frankenstein guitar, but the "Eddie" moves, which is just casually walking around the stage not even looking at his guitar. Somebody needs to start a band with this guy, even they haven't already....

In tune? Eddie never played "in tune" and he definitely muted a ton of his notes, that's how a lot of his legato got its signature tone.
