False reports are very serious. The false report could have had resulted in a rebus police response, with guns drawn. With out a doubt the woman making the false report should have been arrested. Her 911 call was a clear and conscience ploy of using dogwhistle terms such as "schoolchildren" and "guns" to punish the auditor. Consequently, the auditor could have been tased or shot. I give the police two grades; The first grade, I give the police a FAIL for letting the caller of the false alarm off with a simple reprimand. She was the the only one who put people in danger! In essence her false 911 call was an attempt to weaponize the police. The second grade, I give the police an A for a maintaining their poise when engaging with the auditor after a gun reported complaint.
The fact that the woman who reported the gun said "if you don't send someone out I will call the news stations" should be evidence enough to charge her with a crime of false reporting.
Sadly, Lawyers would argue that their client was overreacting to a stressful situation and would drag out the process. The officers did not wish to waste the court’s time. But I do agree with your standing on this.
I bet that guy called that lady off camera and asked her to make something up to bring the police down there, since the dispatcher did her job by identifying he had no legal ground in harassing the dude with the camera. That lady 100% made a intentional false call of a potential shooter....in a country with that type of problem. She wanted that dude dead.
Certain people, including this woman, never experienced consequences for their actions, so they continue to try to manipulate people and situations because they've never had to face repercussions for their insane actions.
yea im certain if the cops knew of the conversation when they showed up to the scene they wouldve charged her 10000% percent, unfortunately all they knew was a call about a gun and woman hanging up mid 911 call.

I can visualize exactly how the situation would’ve instantly flipped if one of the officers while they were surrounding her had called dispatch & heard the part about threatening to call every news channel. Actually it would’ve made for an amazing video for us as viewers to see that unfold as they were scolding her already. “Wait u threatened to call every news channel saying a guy has a gun out here and the police aren’t coming??? Lady put your hands behind your back.” Then would come the tears
That right there indicates she knew no one was in any real danger. If they don't send cops, she's already assuming she'll be fine in the future to contact news stations, and that came to her mind while pacing around an alleged gunman. Very fishy
That's the situation where a cop shoots someone unarmed and loses their career & goes on trial, I'd be mad too. If she thought he had a gun, she wouldn't have kept going back out to "see what was going on."
It was certainly the attempt to get a needlessly large response in a city the size of San Jose, when there are better uses for this scarce resource. There should have been charges filed.
Female caller should’ve been charged. She was inside the business and the sidewalk was at least 200 feet from their front door. Absolutely 0% chance you can identify a gun handle in a back pocket at 200ft.
I used to work for the emergency services using the same MPDS system used in America. It was infuriating the amount of false calls and blatant lies that were told by callers like her which generated an emergency response. To my knowledge, none were ever punished.
If i was the police officer, i would have asked her to describe everything that happened in detail just to see how believable her story is. I would have let her incriminate herself first, then scolded her. And maybe would have gotten probable cause for an arrest too...
if he was ON his property, I could see him feeling entitled to identify people on his property--- but he cannot FORCE them to do so, and his only recourse would be to demand they leave his property--- at which point refusal would constitute criminal trespass if he refused to leave... but in this case, dude clearly needed a little "EDUCATION" about how little power he actually has in this situation :)
Yeah, that was really heartening. And ALL of these cops were in agreement. This gives me some hope that MAYBE things MIGHT start to change with how the US police force treats our constitutional rights.

That's a good point. They likely see 911 as a sort of 'door dash' for dealing with situation that make them uncomfortable. Or, in their haste to shake a finger at him and say, "You're sure going to be sorry now", they accidentally tapped the phone screen. (...it is their favorite part.)

its such a gray area, cops responding to call about a gun. they have to investigate when they show up to a call but that gray area is crazy as far as detaining/identifying etc, its all about ''suspicion'' which gives cops a great deal of power in general. One of the few things that need to be worked on in our justice system, cops love minor infractions that lead to ID'ing people for warrants etc, smell of ''weed'' in the car resulting in searches that lead to gun possession charges etc
"He's recording a school and has a gun!" "Get here faster or I'm calling every news station!" "I never said he had a gun..." She should be in jail. She put so many people in jeopardy and caused a massive police response for nothing.
I honestly didn't watch all of this because I have seen it but imagine if the 911 operator was in training and called out the SWAT because she took the " He's watching and recording kids and has a gun" serious. at least should have cited her or something.
I'm extremely hesitant to posit jail/prison as a solution to *anything* (especially given the current state of the criminal "justice" system) and this is no exception. However, a severe reprimand, emergency services education, and community service of some kind would be very much appropriate.
To be fair. I hate cops, etc. But the amount of shit they have to take by any Dick, Tom and Harry is ridiculous. That is why I call for mandatory psychiatric evaluations every year and mandatory visits to a therapist at least once per month. Civil officers with guns should be strictly regulated and highly educated so that they would not become bullies with guns... as is the case in the US.
@@timduncan2981 That's the only reason why in my book, the police would get a 90 instead of a 95, still an A, but a slightly lower grade. That should have been left to the prosecutor and judge to figure out.

Judging by the size of her, she's just going to deteriorate all on her own, anyway. Her own existence is a punishment. Her bones, her heart, her organs, every joint and tendon... All going to be in pain, and the longer it goes on, the worse it'll get. Problem solves itself.

But there are circumstances when we should consider ceding a right or two temporarily for good of all. Like in the video he let them search and seize so that the situation could be deescalated immediately. It definitely helped that these cops seemed to be very well trained with quality supervisors.
@@nanook6620 I like driving examples. Let's say that you just stopped on one of those all-way-stop crossroads. And you can see that there is a car coming from left side. It has to stop. but it is going fast. Really fast. You are in the right to go, you came first and stopped first. The other one broke a rule. But if you will insist on going, it will hit your car from left, so most probably right in your door. Is this the hill you are willing to die on? Maybe it is because I spent a lot of time with historical fencers and more than once we met cops, so we knew that step one is putting down all swords, axes, polearms and removing gauntlets. Of course we didn't have to, but it made everything much easier.

The woman purposely sounded frantic, mentioned children and a gun and then hung up hoping to create panic and cause cops to arrive ready to shot. This is why they were so angry when they showed up - I'm sure it's not the first time someone has done this.
She literally swatted him. Under California law, swatting is considered a crime against public justice. California Penal Code (California's criminal code) section 148.3 states, “Any individual who reports, or causes any report to be made, to any city, county, city and county, or state department,… that an “emergency” exists, knowing that the report is false, is guilty of a misdemeanor.”
Trust me, even getting reprimanded like that by the officers royally pissed her off. Wish we could have seen her after the officers left. I bet the meltdown was spectacular.

Her actions were not in service to, or representative of, her place of employment or her duties therein. There is/was no reason to sue the company. Although, I wouldn't call that 'peak fascism.'
It’s one thing in a car. You must identify yourself. But doing a constitutional act you do not need to do so unless they’re is probable cause. You can’t fight it at that moment but you can sue for violating rights.
The police should have arrested the woman who claimed there was a gun, kept hanging up on 911, and kept going outside. She escalated the situation for no reason.
While it would have been cathartic, I do not think they had a reason to arrest her on the scene. If they DA decided, upon reviewing the situation, that she should be charged that can happen at a later date. These police did a phenomenal job, and part of them doing that was realizing that instantly detaining people for everything is bad police work. Further, at this point they would not have heard what was on the call word for word, only what dispatch told them, so they were clearly operating in good faith. People really should only be detained if they are an imminent risk for some reason or if they have to be detained for the purposes of investigation or due to the possibility of flight.
If you call claiming someone has a firearm like that you deserve to go to jail. You’re potentially creating a lethal encounter with police, that’s disgusting A+ to the people in blue on this one

@@nineteen96 First thing I see when I google "what is de-escalation for police": De-escalation is defined as a “reduction of the level or intensity.” During every single citizen encounter, officers are working to de-escalate adverse or demanding circumstances. To me, that is exactly what the officer did by sending out that message, basically told his backup/other officers to chill out. In case you were not aware of what code 3 is: CODE 3 EMERGENCY RESPONSE A “CODE 3” response is defined as an emergency response determined by factors such as immediate danger to officer or public safety that require an expedited priority response utilizing lights and sirens.
Seems like the first person trying to provoke a police response, or any kind of response, was Mr. slow.. it doesn’t seem to me like he was trying to learn anything except to provoke a response. Was the owner of the crane shop a target for harassment before all this went down?

The owner seems to have been charged correctly. However, the DAs in California tend to be very lazy and probably dropped the charges. The female should have been taken to jail. She wanted to get the auditor killed by the police. I hope the auditor sues for big money!

On the same train of thought, it's sad officers should be congratulated for doing the right thing. As honor guards to society, when they do wrong they should be chastised as opposed to getting a paid vacation.

Yep and he acted legally with his quick patdown. He communicated clearly that it was solely a pad down which, under the circumstances he was legally permitted to do.
Maybe the dispatcher too. I strongly suspect she informed the responding officers that she was pretty certain the gun claims were bogus, meaning the first officer on the scene simply felt the need to confirm that before informing his colleagues.

@@TrentRidley She would have to have done that VERY carefully. Dispatchers communicate with police over radio waves that are easily monitored by the public, and are recorded and audited. GENERALLY speaking, dispatchers give nothing more than the facts as they know them.
Exactly. And if you look up the area on Google Maps, you see where the front office is in proximity to where the owner confronted the auditor, there is no way Karen could have seen the guy to extrapolate that information.

I've seen other audit the audit tapes where the call to 911 was way off base. The cops arrived expecting a home invasion in progress when it was a realtor showing the house. "For Sale" sign prominently displayed in front yard. That should have been a clue. The realtor and his client got a settlement from the city. I hope they got an apology from all involved, too.

It's even worse than that. She didn't just lie to get him prosecuted, she lied to generate a huge police response and potentially get him injured or killed by telling them he had a gun. Just watched again after some time, and thinking the same thing. I’d love to see a prosecutor try to throw the book at her. Her changing statements, the post-call story, the threat to call the media if the Karen wasn’t satisfied with an immediate response, etc, could all paint a very convincing story to a reasonable person that she knew her statements were false and was just trying to escalate the response.

All the police officers all replying “no” in sync was great they all are on the same page and someone is doing a great job training and leading these officers
Yeah, being in-sync and on the same page isn't necessarily a good sign (think back to the authoritarian-state cops and military who did horrible things throughout history), but when they're in-sync and on the same page, *and* right about something, that's a great sign for sure!
@@mikeexits Actually in this cause being in sync and all officers aware of our rights, and the proper way to deal with the public is 100% not authoritarian. It is the behavior we want out of LEOs. When they all know the law, it is much easier to stop bad interactions with the public.

me too the first time i watched this, cop isn't playing and it's understandable why he's upset but i wouldn't have wanted to be that lady, one or two wrong words from her would've meant jail for her, call the news lady you nearly got filmed getting hauled off to jail.

@@acynthus3587 This comment comes from a place of complete ignorance. Do you realize that on average in the USA there 2.5 MILLION police-citizen interactions DAILY. Yet there are only a handful of bad interactions that we see occur. 99.9% of all police interactions are the police "just doing their jobs properly". The problem is that the internet and mainstream media hyper focus on the handful of bad interactions in order to gain views and clicks and sensationalize a problem that is quite minor. No one publishes the body cam footage from all these interactions because when the job is done properly and nothing of note happens, it's "boring". So we only see the videos from the very very few interactions where something "exciting" happens. This leads to selection bias and misleads public perception into believing that a far higher ratio of police officers are bad actors.
This is what happens when a cop "tries to understand the situation" rather than "assuming of the situation." A lot of cases in the ATA would never exist if only cops used their common sense like this. Upon arrival: 1. Asked about the situation 2. Told the camera guy why they are there 3. Get the sides of the caller and the other person having issues with the camera guy 4. Reprimanded those who are really at fault without assumption. Lot of videos here bypass the #1 and #3 then proceed with #2 then #4.
Yes, a rare cop who actually knows people's rights. I'm SHOCKED by the cops who don't, and who even arrest people because they won't give their name or even speak to them. Somebody has to go and listen to the training these cops get, and ask the trainer if people have to identify themselves when they're standing on a sidewalk, and see what he says. Because it's clear, the training these people get is horrible. They need to be told the difference between obstruction and choosing not to aid an investigation by talking to a cop, which is 100% within their right. It's really nice to see a cop who respects his job enough to actually know the law.

Come on scene and not see any aggression, ask questions yet still dispel the cause for alarm respectfully, investigate and learn what is actually going on, and educate when needed
She most definitely should have been arrested. She 100% knew what she was doing and knew exactly what type of response she wanted. She actually threatened to call reporters if they dispatcher did not send units faster.
The officers on scene most likely didn't know about those threats and the conflicting statements she made on the 911 calls though. And just because she wasn't arrested doesn't mean she can't be prosecuted later. They know where she works, probalby have her phone number, and know how she looks like, so it should be easy to identify her later.

I can agree that the responding officers may not have been privy to the full content of her comments to dispatch but dispatch most definitely relayed the lie of seeing a gun or something that looked like a gun. Yes I do know she could be charged and even arrested later. But I would be willing to wager a beer via cash app that she was never contacted again concerning this incident.

It is in fact a criminal offense. I know that’s not the claim you were making. I’m just making sure to be clear on the matter. Definitely not trying to twist your words or stance. I personally believe that nothing was done due to where this took place. The nature is not favorable for law and order.
Sadly it would only make people more reluctant to call 911 because they person they claim to be a problem can simply lie once the police get there, which then results in a wrongful lawsuit

In sales we call it "pushing a hot button", you know a certain phrase or claim will illicit a specific response. It's like yelling fire in a crowed movie theater, you know people will panic and crowed the door.
The officer who searched the cameraman easily deserves an A+. He was extremely professional told the cameraman what he was going to do. EXCELLENT JOB, OFFICER!!
@@Al-Rudigort could be considered illegal in this area. Open/concealed carry is illegal in some states and a potentially drawn or visible weapon is considered open carrying which is illegal in several states.

If the cops get a call that you have a gun and you do, they will pat you down to find said gun and remove it from your person for the safety of all involved until the investigation is completed. Once the investigation is complete and the detainment is finished, if there is no offense your gun will be returned and everyone moves on with their life. I've had this happen to me, my ccw was printing at a Walmart one day and someone called the police. The officer detained me, removed the firearm from my person, went to look at the security camera footage, saw nothing happened, gave me my gun back, gave me a couple recommendations on holsters that don't print as bad, and went on about their day.
The business owner should be charged with criminal mischief, misuse of emergency services, and sued for defamation. Accusing someone of being a pervert while knowing there’s no reasonable suspicion is pretty blatant slander

I have new neighbors who are kind, they work for the humane society and all that good stuff, and my racist mom was going to call the police on them just because they were outside in the night taking to their friends, it looked like a 18 year old boy talking to his gf , she was probably about to leave and he was saying bye. And my mom was calling them all these names and talking about they’re going to R us or rob us and all that and she was getting me so pissed off, I had an argument w her and she was like “I’m going to call the police on those mfs “

She's being held accountable in that her every friend and family member will likely be introduced to this video showing how poorly she acted. The video can also serve as evidence against her if she ever tries this again.
At a minimum, the cost of sending 12+ police officers to the scene, she should get the bill. I wish they had at least handcuffed and discussed if they were going to charge her (in front f her) and then let her off with a written warning.
And the other person that deserves an A+ in this encounter is the 911 operator who clearly saw through the misstatements of the caller and obviously knew the laws of recording and was trying to establish what was happening prior to sending excessive response.
At least reckless endangerment, of both the victim and the police who respond. She probably hung up because the next question from the dispatcher would be "Did you _see_ a gun?"
This is the first video I have seen where officers in unison conducted a thorough and proper investigation. You are a credit to your department. Nothing but high praise for you officers.

The police had every ability to return later to make an arrest or citation since the female employee worked at that location. They knew she’d be back there. They didn’t even have to do it on the spot. But yet still they didn’t. Unfortunate.

The 911 operator gets an A+, for clearly describing the suspicious emergency escalation, allowing the officers to accurately assess the situation when they arrived at the scene.
Yea i was surprised she did so well. That was refreshing but so few people anymore can actually stay calm and think objectively especially under pressure.
This wasn’t trivial. The camera man was a registered sex offender and SVP (sexually violent predator). Dressed in all black filming kids… his SVP parole restricts him to at least 1/2 mile of a school. I would have done more than take his camera, I would have put a few in his head.
Even the dispatcher that took the call was on the ball. Literally trying to see if this was an actual issue or not before sending someone out. This is the way it should be handled all the time. Kudos to them. Also, that Karen escalated when she wasn't getting the response she deemed appropriate... she should have been arrested.
This is basically swatting. Good to see cops do the right thing, and they were right. It's extremely dangerous to make that call to bring cops with ARs streaming to the scene. The ramifications of a cop killing an innocent guy over a bogus call would be far and wide. And at least 3 body cam POVs so at least 3 cops reacted correctly and professionally.
She should have been charged just so they can bill her and the company the cost for the excessive amount of cops that they had to send out because it was reported as a gun near a school.
Considering the shootings involving school children over the years you would expect an adult to not incite such an unnecessary police response. Everyone in the area was in danger once she made that phone call.

It wasn't even a civil issue. That suggests a violarion of civil code had been committed by the photographer. But he was well within his rights, violating neither civil nor criminal law.
I'm shocked that the female employee wasn't arrested given the fact that at least eight units responded thinking that a school was potentially in danger of an active shooter. This is a extremely serious accusation these days and cannot be taken lightly. The DA should take a look at this because it sounds like she knew exactly what she was doing in order to summon an overwhelming, dangerous, and unnecessary response. This innocent guy filming could have easily been killed or a law enforcement official could have also been killed proceeding to this type of dire situation. Great job by the police involved by not over reacting and the innocent victim who remained calm during the whole process.
Not sure if "shocked" is appropriate when the video explained how she may argue her side in court. Was a bit vague not an outright blatant lie, even though it was very stupid.
She should have been arrested for her actions, she put an innocent man's life in danger. At minimum she should have to pay restitution to the police department for the manpower taken away from potential serious issues. Hanging up on the 911 dispatcher was a purposeful attempt to get a swat team response. She's worse than her boss.

I do believe a grand jury would refer the matter to trial and hope that a judge or jury would do the proper thing and convict. She put many peoples lives in danger by her purposeful actions. That would include the guy filming, the police responding, automobile traffic in the way of responding police, and pedestrians also potentially in the way of police who were responding to a potential assault on a school. I will stand by my assertion of shocking to describe her not being arrested. Still believe that the DA should get involved in this case considering the video and audio evidence.
At least she was "talked" to. Now the guy can sue the business owner for damages to his camera and will have a rock solid case and might even get punitive damages.

Cops are just people man youd be surprised how many of them would make a simple slip up like telling someone to stop filming a government building from a sidewalk or something like that. I was certain that, contrary to what the narrator said, she said that he DID have a gun in the second call, which would change the circumstances, from what I understood the creator to say. As a former 911 dispatcher of 20 years, I’d like to give a big shout-out to the officer who took the female employee to task for her abysmal 911 etiquette. This element of an emergency response is usually overlooked (including by LE officers themselves, unfortunately), and it’s exponentially more difficult than most people realize. This video gives a small taste of what it’s like, and it’s great to see an officer who gets it and goes to bat for his call-takers.
The sheer entitlement and condescension both the owner and employee showed by calling, demanding a police response, lying about a possible gun, talking over the operator and then just hanging up without listening to her at all was absolutely disgusting. I give the operator credit for not totally snapping on the employee the 2nd time she called acting like that, cuz I wouldn't have been as nice and I normally have the patience of a saint. It's the entitlement that pushes right over the edge!😬

Definitely. The 911 operator(s) did an amazing job of trying to get the best facts possible for the cops, so the cops could respond more appropriately to the real situation and not some inflated threat scenario built up on lies.

This is a false 911 call, assault and a couple other crimes by the business owner.
False reports are very serious. The false report could have had resulted in a rebus police response, with guns drawn. With out a doubt the woman making the false report should have been arrested. Her 911 call was a clear and conscience ploy of using dogwhistle terms such as "schoolchildren" and "guns" to punish the auditor. Consequently, the auditor could have been tased or shot.
I give the police two grades;
The first grade, I give the police a FAIL for letting the caller of the false alarm off with a simple reprimand. She was the the only one who put people in danger! In essence her false 911 call was an attempt to weaponize the police.
The second grade, I give the police an A for a maintaining their poise when engaging with the auditor after a gun reported complaint.
The fact that the woman who reported the gun said "if you don't send someone out I will call the news stations" should be evidence enough to charge her with a crime of false reporting.
Sadly, Lawyers would argue that their client was overreacting to a stressful situation and would drag out the process. The officers did not wish to waste the court’s time. But I do agree with your standing on this.

I used to work for the emergency services using the same MPDS system used in America. It was infuriating the amount of false calls and blatant lies that were told by callers like her which generated an emergency response. To my knowledge, none were ever punished.
If i was the police officer, i would have asked her to describe everything that happened in detail just to see how believable her story is. I would have let her incriminate herself first, then scolded her. And maybe would have gotten probable cause for an arrest too...

its such a gray area, cops responding to call about a gun. they have to investigate when they show up to a call but that gray area is crazy as far as detaining/identifying etc, its all about ''suspicion'' which gives cops a great deal of power in general. I'm extremely hesitant to posit jail/prison as a solution to *anything* (especially given the current state of the criminal "justice" system) and this is no exception. However, a severe reprimand, emergency services education, and community service of some kind would be very much appropriate.

But there are circumstances when we should consider ceding a right or two temporarily for good of all. Like in the video he let them search and seize so that the situation could be deescalated immediately. It definitely helped that these cops seemed to be very well trained with quality supervisors.

It has to stop. but it is going fast. Really fast. You are in the right to go, you came first and stopped first. The other one broke a rule. While it would have been cathartic, I do not think they had a reason to arrest her on the scene. If they DA decided, upon reviewing the situation, that she should be charged that can happen at a later date.
These police did a phenomenal job, and part of them doing that was realizing that instantly detaining people for everything is bad police work. Further, at this point they would not have heard what was on the call word for word, only what dispatch told them, so they were clearly operating in good faith.
People really should only be detained if they are an imminent risk for some reason or if they have to be detained for the purposes of investigation or due to the possibility of flight.

Yep and he acted legally with his quick patdown. He communicated clearly that it was solely a pad down which, under the circumstances he was legally permitted to do.
Maybe the dispatcher too. I strongly suspect she informed the responding officers that she was pretty certain the gun claims were bogus, meaning the first officer on the scene simply felt the need to confirm that before informing his colleagues.

@@TrentRidley She would have to have done that VERY carefully. Dispatchers communicate with police over radio waves that are easily monitored by the public, and are recorded and audited. GENERALLY speaking, dispatchers give nothing more than the facts as they know them.

I've seen other audit the audit tapes where the call to 911 was way off base. The cops arrived expecting a home invasion in progress when it was a realtor showing the house. "For Sale" sign prominently displayed in front yard. That should have been a clue. The realtor and his client got a settlement from the city. I hope they got an apology from all involved, too.

Her changing statements, the post-call story, the threat to call the media if the Karen wasn’t satisfied with an immediate response, etc, could all paint a very convincing story to a reasonable person that she knew her statements were false and was just trying to escalate the response.

Yet there are only a handful of bad interactions that we see occur. 99.9% of all police interactions are the police "just doing their jobs properly". The problem is that the internet and mainstream media hyper focus on the handful of bad interactions in order to gain views and clicks and sensationalize a problem that is quite minor.
No one publishes the body cam footage from all these interactions because when the job is done properly and nothing of note happens, it's "boring". So we only see the videos from the very very few interactions where something "exciting" happens. This leads to selection bias and misleads public perception into believing that a far higher ratio of police officers are bad actors.

This is what happens when a cop "tries to understand the situation" rather than "assuming of the situation." A lot of cases in the ATA would never exist if only cops used their common sense like this.
Upon arrival:
1. Asked about the situation
2. Told the camera guy why they are there
3. Get the sides of the caller and the other person having issues with the camera guy
4. Reprimanded those who are really at fault without assumption.

Yes, a rare cop who actually knows people's rights. I'm SHOCKED by the cops who don't, and who even arrest people because they won't give their name or even speak to them. Somebody has to go and listen to the training these cops get, and ask the trainer if people have to identify themselves when they're standing on a sidewalk, and see what he says. Because it's clear, the training these people get is horrible. They need to be told the difference between obstruction and choosing not to aid an investigation by talking to a cop, which is 100% within their right. It's really nice to see a cop who respects his job enough to actually know the law.

If the cops get a call that you have a gun and you do, they will pat you down to find said gun and remove it from your person for the safety of all involved until the investigation is completed. Once the investigation is complete and the detainment is finished, if there is no offense your gun will be returned and everyone moves on with their life.
I've had this happen to me, my ccw was printing at a Walmart one day and someone called the police. The officer detained me, removed the firearm from my person, went to look at the security camera footage, saw nothing happened, gave me my gun back, gave me a couple recommendations on holsters that don't print as bad, and went on about their day.

It wasn't even a civil issue. That suggests a violarion of civil code had been committed by the photographer. But he was well within his rights, violating neither civil nor criminal law.
I'm shocked that the female employee wasn't arrested given the fact that at least eight units responded thinking that a school was potentially in danger of an active shooter. This is a extremely serious accusation these days and cannot be taken lightly. The DA should take a look at this because it sounds like she knew exactly what she was doing in order to summon an overwhelming, dangerous, and unnecessary response. This innocent guy filming could have easily been killed or a law enforcement official could have also been killed proceeding to this type of dire situation. Great job by the police involved by not over reacting and the innocent victim who remained calm during the whole process.
Not sure if "shocked" is appropriate when the video explained how she may argue her side in court. Was a bit vague not an outright blatant lie, even though it was very stupid.
She should have been arrested for her actions, she put an innocent man's life in danger. At minimum she should have to pay restitution to the police department for the manpower taken away from potential serious issues. @@beyondbackwater4933 Sounds like premeditated attempt to get police there by her will. Remember she said that she would contact the press if police didn't come immediately. I do believe a grand jury would refer the matter to trial and hope that a judge or jury would do the proper thing and convict. She put many peoples lives in danger by her purposeful actions. That would include the guy filming, the police responding, automobile traffic in the way of responding police, and pedestrians also potentially in the way of police who were responding to a potential assault on a school. I will stand by my assertion of shocking to describe her not being arrested. Still believe that the DA should get involved in this case considering the video and audio evidence.

At least she was "talked" to. Now the guy can sue the business owner for damages to his camera and will have a rock solid case and might even get punitive damages.

Cops are just people man youd be surprised how many of them would make a simple slip up like telling someone to stop filming a government building from a sidewalk or something like that.

I was certain that, contrary to what the narrator said, she said that he DID have a gun in the second call, which would change the circumstances, from what I understood the creator to say. I don’t remember her going back to thinking again (when she clearly wasn’t using more than a single brain cell anyway! 🙀🙄😹😹😹😉).
I absolutely agree that she’s psycho!! Just imagine if the cops had arrived, guns at the ready and all pointed at the camera guy. He could have very easily been shot and/or killed! Does anyone happen to know what the charges would be then?
As a former 911 dispatcher of 20 years, I’d like to give a big shout-out to the officer who took the female employee to task for her abysmal 911 etiquette. This element of an emergency response is usually overlooked (including by LE officers themselves, unfortunately), and it’s exponentially more difficult than most people realize. This video gives a small taste of what it’s like, and it’s great to see an officer who gets it and goes to bat for his call-takers.

The sheer entitlement and condescension both the owner and employee showed by calling, demanding a police response, lying about a possible gun, talking over the operator and then just hanging up without listening to her at all was absolutely disgusting. I give the operator credit for not totally snapping on the employee the 2nd time she called acting like that, cuz I wouldn't have been as nice and I normally have the patience of a saint. It's the entitlement that pushes right over the edge!😬

Definitely. The 911 operator(s) did an amazing job of trying to get the best facts possible for the cops, so the cops could respond more appropriately to the real situation and not some inflated threat scenario built up on lies.

I like how the cop straight up told him that somebody reported he had a gun rather then just showing up drawing weapons and screaming orders, just explained the severity of the situation and got him to willingly comply to the search right away.

I have seen this video several times. It is so refreshing to finally see a good cop do the correct thing. He remained calm. Explained what he was doing. Kept everyone safe and did a great job
