    The clerk lied to the police when being interviewed. She DID send a text to her sister claiming that the gentleman from the UAE was claiming allegiance to ISIS. She should be charged.

      They did what they should've done based off the call. The girls sounded frantic and at his time isis was a big issue. I commend them for actually calling it off after they figured out it was a lie and nothing prejudice to still lock him up bc that's what you expect if other cops normally. I don't agree with them breaking his stuff but they did what they had to do they weren't overly violent like most officers, and they did the right thing by letting him go. Some of the officers were being rude but the main officer seemed to be doing it all professionally just like the narrator said.

      the key here is that in the language of the law you have to prove that the sister 100% knew the claim she made to 911 was false. Whilst the actions are motivated by racial bias, in this particular instance her actions did not rise to the standard of a false alarm which means it was not a crime. ( i agree that this is not fair and that there is obviously improvements to be made to the text in order to avoid these situations from happening again)

      The sister didn't know. You can hear her stop talking to read the text from the receptionist. The receptionist made it all up, and the sister was calling because of genuine fear. It's 10000% on the receptionist. How could the sister know any better? If my sibling texts me someone is pledging allegiance to isis I'll take them at their word and call it in. The receptionist should without a doubt have been charged, no question. She lied and she knows it.       Actually the 911 receptionist has to take responsibility for all the info that she transferred to the police, it therefore follows that she must try to verify that the info before passing it on to the radical cops is correct and accurate, cause the cops assume everyone is a terrorist or drug dealer until proven otherwise.

It sounds like a game of "telephone" like kids play. The clerk probably exacerbated what was going on and then the sister probably did the same when she called 911. The clerk was definitely in the wrong though. Good luck on getting a prosecution though.

      Well it blatantly shows (regardless of whatever statistic/stereotype and the likes that exist) he had more sense than everyone there, put together. Outside the fact that his responses (when concerning how he and his personal property was being handled) the way that he behaved was sound and the statements that he made aligned with normal behavior, it's likely he already knew what direction he was going in.       I actually disagree here, and I’m usually on the side of critiquing them harshly. Based on the call, it was the right decision to detain and search him as soon as possible, although they were extremely rude and childish whilst doing so. The blame is 10000% on the caller for putting them in the position to have to act instantly.

    Based on the 911 call alone you can tell that the caller is being discriminatory. While the officers do have to perform due diligence, they should have recognized the stigmas for persons in that dress at the time, and realized the discriminatory nature of the call

In the UK the police assassinated a completely innocent Brazilian guy in the London Underground on the assumption he had a bomb because he lived in a block of apartments where a previous suspect may have also lived at some time. In this case they had no knowledge there was any risk. They only had a third party report and they made no attempt to check the veracity of the report
