    Thanks Andrew
Very good illustration of Ernest Jones method. I have just finished reading his book “swing the club head” and it was a revelation.
Thanks for the pen knife demonstration, I am doing the same practice now.
Just got back from the golf course today and whilst I remain a bit erratic there are a couple of things I noticed when trying to use the Ernest Jones method :
    1. How easy it is to generate the necessary power. To assist with an easy swing I dropped back a club so I did not have to concern myself with generating extra power. On a number of occasions I got a nice clean strike on the ball and sent it just as far or further than before with jalf the effort.
    2. If I made a bad shot (usually a hook) it was always because my wrists took over instead of remaining passive, or I was trying to steer the ball. To correct this all I had to do was concentrate on swinging the club head smoothly on my next shot and NOT think about corrective action to my earlier errors, in the past this lead me down a bad path.
    3. The principle of swinging the club is uniform throughout all shots from putting up to driver AND BEST OF ALL......
    4. It teaches us to relax and enjoy the game. Also I note that in a more relaxed state it is easier to lengthen the swing arc on the longer shots.

You need to read Jones' first book, "The Golf Swing (Illustrated)". Jones said later in life that this book set the stage for Swing the Clubhead and Swinging Into Golf, and that it was critical to learning how to wield the club properly with the fingers and hands. Important in that few understand how to move the club without this introduction, and that the pen knife swinging will only utilize the arms and body, where Jones says proper movement of the club should use only the fingers and hands, and mostly the principal fingers of the thumb and index finger of each hand.

Good video. As far as someone saying you have too much tension to be demonstrating Jones' drill I say rubbish. If you listen to Jack Nicklaus or Colin Montgomery they will insist that they have no tension in their forearms, arms and shoulders and light grip pressure. But they both have to go out of their way to insist it is the case, because to look at them you would think they would at least have some decent tension in their hands\wrists\forearms\shoulders etc... . Looks can be deceiving. Not only do they try to make this point clear in their videos (since it is not apparent) I actually got to see Jack NIcklaus in person give a golf clinic in 1982 while standing just about 10 feet from him. Unless he told you, you would not have guessed it. This was just weeks before he lost to Tom Watson at Pebble Beach. Nicklaus was at the top of his game and his ball striking at that clinic was unbelievable. By the time he worked his way down to his 3 wood, the balls were taking off like rockets, climbing to an apex and disappearing God only knows how far away from the tee.

Yep been there, thats why Manuel would say concentrate on the target and the swing, remember the swing sends the ball, so become swing and Target obsessed if anything.
