Is there anyone here subscribed to Tomo's Guitar Wisdom? Is it a good program for those who suck at guitar? lol. I mainly know basic chords, pentatonic scales, and just found out that I'm not supposed to use my guitar pick with three fingers (It's two smh) and I have been playing for 13 years 😅. Anyway, I love Tomo's knowledge and attitude but afraid that it may be overwhelming. Anyone else with similar experience that have benefited from Guitar Wisdom? Thank you!

The Thrill is gone! to combine that voice with that guitar is bigger than a triple threat!!! BB rules. His vocal vibrato and finger tremolo matches!!! Just a little and a whole lot!!! It's faster and wider! His bends are so accurate no more than a couple cents difference!! 😎 you need shades Tomo.

The advise you give in this video is one of the best you can give to musicians exploring the blues. Back in the 70s I only have records and no way to slow down the song. Just listen and imitate. And no clue of what a pentatonic or a triad was. Only chords and play by ear B.B. King, Shuggie Otis (extraordinary blues musician) and Taj Mahal. Trying to get the bending, the vibrato only by ear. I know practically no music theory (which now internet provides) but I learned many things just by listening. That's the reason I give you thanks for this great video!

I absolutely love your teaching style. I would love to take lessons. I have accepted that is not possible. Lol. I have never taken a lesson. I find your content energizes me to want to learn more theory. I can play lots of things and blues comes very natural to me because of internal pain. When I was 22 and my dad passed away I didn't know what to do with all the pain. I saw the first SRV Austin City Limits and I had to be able to express my pain that way. So I took up guitar. It was completely new to me. I was playing with a blues band 1 year after I started playing guitar at 23 years old. I play almost completely off feel. But I struggle with the theory. Because I just want to emote. Music isn't left brained to me. Unfortunately this makes it hard to communicate, learn or compose as I would like to. I write a lot of songs now and lack of theory limits me a lot. So I really appreciate you. You make me want to learn theory. You are very inspirational. Thank you so much for your continued content and the 335 sounds great!

I want everyone to learn one great part of theory which can help your playing amazingly! Not about just knowledges... more than that! Thanks for sharing! You can learn Major scale on one string & leann triads on 123 set strings. But you need to learn super slow & deep! You just cannot rush this at all! No memorization shapes! Learn them deeply!

Blues is a state of mind, a particular range of feelings, we have the 'up beat' blues, we have the 'jump', the 'shuffle' and then we have the anguished, soul wrenching blues-it is feel music with a definite discipline. Blues is not about scale patterns, or chord substitutions, it is a way of existing in the world. People approach blues from entirely the wrong angle, intellectually, I agree with Tomo so much here. I began playing in 1971.

A lot of people play Blues , but very few people really understand it . As soon as I hear somebody play with a lot of distortion and gain and call it Blues I am turned off . The beauty of switching between major and minor pentatonic gives that great sweet melodic sound and the minor sounding blues riffs and works so well on a 12 bar blues since the main chords are major chords, but often use 7ths which give it the blue notes.

Employing brute force methods is very important when it comes to learning guitar, especially in the beginning because the learning curve is difficult. Just to condition yourself in a way that you can properly play the guitar can take months of practice. It is very important that you learn the correct method the first time rather than having to re-learn something later on. Practicing a bad habit is very much that. A bad habit. TomoFujitaMusic channel is very good and I'm learning a lot and I personally have been playing for almost 20 years. Thank you, one thing that is difficult to teach is the dedication it takes to get it rite. Playing as clean as Tomo Fujita does is difficult and your mistakes are very prevalent. For any musician out there making an effort to learn how to play. Don't give up, no matter what you're learning.

I've been hitting ruts and feeling like I can play more than I do, and so maybe studying and trying to understand essential tunes like Lucille, The Okie Dokie Stomp, and Dust my Broom covers some decent ground. Back in the 80s I was in a classic rock band doing my thing. But I was obsessed with Pat Martino and Cal Collins. Being drawn to jazz and blues I was over my head with these two guys. And then I found Clarence Gatemouth Brown who was less complicated but was more Texas swing blues. And then I started to listen to Robben Ford. But I was still over my head in trying to figure these guys out. And then I came across Hound dog Taylor and John Lee Hooker. These two guys were a better place to start. And now it’s almost 2021 and I’m still trying to figure out the blues! 🤠🤷‍♂️

Hi Tomo, thanks for this. Really good stuff. Phrasing is all about music counting driven to perfection. For professionals like you, Robben and others this is the daily bread and butter. Therefore my advice to the others - learn to count correct and precisely. Otherwise you will be stuck in the corner of the guys "playing with feeling" - where it's just a coincidence if it fits.

This video warms my heart, thank you. Very important in blues, to understand the conversation, the call backs and answers in the phrasing.
Most important is that feel in the bend, there's a sweetness there in the way a player can let a semitone decay into the amp.

Hello there,i was introduced to the blues by Eric Clapton and the Rolling Stones..41 years ago,and since that time i play guitar and sing the blues.i love many kinds of music, but the blues is my best partner when it comes to express myself. The blues is a way of life and it calls you.And if that happens, nothingmeans more than this...The blues had a baby and they named it rock and roll.Thats it.Muddy Waters found the right words for it.The blues has many sides and also can be funky.Listen to Albert Collins...
There ain't right or wrong how to play the blues,it is inside your bones, flesh and blood. If you get the call, better be ready, cause if its inside of you,it gotta come out...
    This is it ●

So many great moments on there and the guitar tones are incredible.
