I’m a ford mechanic and used to have to work on a 2005 gt. I hated it. I was sweating bullets the hole time. Always having to run people off wanting to sit it, take pictures of it, etc. Road testing it was a nightmare, people I swear would almost run you off the road staring at it.
This guy was interesting to listen to, please have him back
Jason tuned my 2005 in(2006)ford GT and it was a missile.

The word he was thinking of regarding making a certain number of road cars to go racing is "homologation"...very grateful for all the knowledge shared by Jason here...his brain was fried at the end.

I really enjoyed every section of this video. Hearing experienced people talk about their history is a lot of fun to me. this reminds me of asking pointed questions to get coaches who were teaching a class to talk all hour.

Its awesome to hear from a local shop. I remember he brought out the new gt to a cleetus and cars event, that was the last time I saw Heffner performance (i dont get out much) but i know they have some incredible builds.

It would be interesting to see your and their differences between them starting on the real street now doing more no prep track stuff to compare to you not even starting your car unless the track prep is perfect I think you all could learn from each other

The Saleen S7 has a 7.0L 427 cu. in. engine in it, and enough downforce to drive upside down at any speed above 160mph.
Mod Motor FTW! Accufab/m2k 300mph in 1 mile, the other Ford GT is "badd gt" and took multiple of miles to run 300mph. Totally different levels of car and engineering

me and my dad met jason and his son at the dirt bike track probably 5-7 years ago let me ride his kx250 and talked to them at the track a when i seen them from then on but anyways very cool down to earth guy

The lightning is a cool truck but if anything GM started the resurgence of a cool truck with the Typhoon and Cyclone! AWD turbo V6 and fast for the time.

It’s not IF. ITS WHEN! The v10 platform breaks. I have had four major transmission repairs in the last year and I’m only at like 1300 wheel horsepower. The shops have done a very good job of selling us the dependability of this platform and the reality is, it’s just not true. They are pretty good don’t get me wrong, but when they break, it’s 15 grand minimum every time it breaks. So it’s good for them. Actually it’s great for them.
Hefner, is the original gangster. I don’t think he was ever in it to try and make money off of the repairs but I think he would be the first to tell you that if you’re going to double the power output of a factory vehicle, it’s not if it’s when.
The DL 800 transmission is a problem in that depending on where you are finding someone to fix it can be a real problem locally.

So there are actually factory efforts at Pikes Peak, Ford had their latest EV SuperVan out this year competing, VW’s factory team holds the record with their I.D. R, Peugeot had the record before them with Sebastian Loeb, Honda is always doing something there it seems, etc…

Hey Coop, the number and frequency of commercials in your podcast it ruining the listenability of the podcast. It seems like just as you are getting into it here comes another set of commercials you have to skip, if you can. There must be at least twenty spots for ads, maybe many more - I lost count. I realize that if I could afford it I could buy the upgraded version of TH-cam, I would not be bothered by this. But I can’t. So I am stuck with having to wait till I can skip ads before going on to listen again. I don’t know how much money difference it is to you cut back on the shear number of ads, but consider it please. Thanks for listening.
That is a pain point for me that i think about a lot. I take about 40% of them out from what TH-cam puts in. I currently have 18 ads in a 3 hour episode. You can listen on Spotify with much less but at this point i don’t have much of a choice but to have ads to make money off these episodes. Like i said its a pain point i stress a bunch over it but i cant do much about it without doing this for free.
