@7:43 Mel Torme was an old singer with a career that started at 5yrs old. He sang traditional songs, the opposite of Nick Rivers Rock n Roll. He has a cameo in Naked Gun 2 or 3 I think.

Torme's daughter sang the theme for the 007 movie You Only Live Twice. While she had a singing, acting and even writing career her father was one of the classic singers that also included Frank Sinatra listed on the billboard. Often sang on Broadway or Vegas as headliners.

I think you're thinking of Nancy Sinatra, who sang "You Only Live Twice". Her father was Frank Sinatra.

Mel Torme wrote and performed The Christmas Song-1945 ("Chestnuts roasting on an open fire...") among other music in the field of jazz mostly.
Pintos (car) were known to have a defect that made them explode back in the 70s. A massive recall was issued.
Evel Knievel was one of the 1st motorcycle performers to jump buses. Hence the spoof of him w/ the stunt.
Hot shots is even sillier than this movie (but better) and The Naked Gun. It does have Lloyd Bridges (from Airplane!).
You could dive into the world of Mel Brooks movies. Best start w/ Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein (this is somewhat like Airplane in comedy type,, (not style) but w/ a story).

There's an Airplane II: The Sequel movie you guys might like. I also recommend other comedies such as Three Amigos, Clue The Movie, Oscar, UHF, Wayne's World 1 & 2, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, Serial Mom, The Addams Family, Addams Family Values, Ghostbusters 1 & 2, Dumb & Dumber, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Spaceballs, Young Frankenstein, Liar, Liar. Another good Val Kilmer movie is called Tombstone. Another Leslie Nielsen comedy is called Dracula: Dead and Loving It. Thanks for the video. Take care.

That loudly singing horse that begins coughing gets me to burst out laughing out loud every single time!😂😂 She asks "Is he alright?" & the man says, "He caught a cold the other day. He's just a little hoarse.." And the camera pans back to show he's actually minature & pulling a huge wagon. So, yes, he is, indeed, a LITTLE 'HORSE'..🤣🤣 Smfh.. Love it.

You should watch Forbidden Planet (1956). Leslie Nelson is the star, so you can see him in a non-comedic role. He's basically Captain Kirk in the precursor to Star Trek. It's also a sci-fi version of Shakespeare's The Tempest.

Other great spy comedies which are not a spoof like this movie are Gotcha! 1985 (With the guy who played Goose in Top Gun in the lead role) and If Looks Could Kill. 1991. De todas as piadas desse filme, a minha favorita é: "He is a little horse/hoarse." Eu adoro essas "Dad Jokes".

There is actually a sequel to Airplane! ! It's called Airplane! 2: The Sequel. I love it, but recently found out some people don't like it as much. It's about a space shuttle instead of an airplane and has many returning characters. The court scene kills me!!
Other than Naked Gun movies, Leslie Neilson was in a couple other slapstick movies.
There's "Spy Hard" which I believe is mainly a parody of James Bond films down to the opening theme song by Weird Al Yankovic.
One of my favorites is "Wrongfully Accused" which mainly parodies "The Fugitive" with Harrison Ford, and other movies like *Usual Suspects, Fargo, *North by Northwest, Titanic, and *Mission Impossible (and many more). Besides obviously the Fugitive, you might need to see the movies above with an * to get the scene parody references. I think those are the important ones, but it's been a while and I may be forgetting others.
Mr Magoo is a comedy based on an older cartoon of a nearly blind old man. I don't recall if it's slapstick really as I only saw it once long ago.
Speaking of cartoons made into real live action movies, I really dug the movie The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle. It has the same sense of humor that the old cartoon had if you've ever seen those.
Then of course you have the Scary Movie series, Leslie shows up in I think parts 3 and 4. This would require watching some horror movies of course. The main ones parodied I can think of are for the parts (usually the movies loosely follow the plots of 1 or 2 films, but includes a scene or two from many others. Which could spoil the real film or just be a reference):
1 Scream, I know what you did last summer, six sense, matrix, Halloween, usual suspects, exorcist, Blair witch project
2 Haunting, what lies beneath, poltergeist, hollow man, Charlie's angels, nightmare on elm street, mission impossible 2, hannibal (the sequel to Silence of the Lambs), exorcist (again), amity horror, dude where's my car, frighteners
3 Signs, the ring, 8 mile, the others, matrix reloaded, airplane!
4 saw, war of the worlds, broke back mountain, grudge, million dollar baby
5 paranormal activity, cabin in the woods, evil dead ("remake" from the 2000s), mama, rise of the planet of the apes, black swan, inception

    • @ptthatswhatshesaid
