Thank you. If you want to know more about Tarzan, the original books are still in print, they are however a product of their time. Though compared to some writers of the time who are still popular, the author, Edgar Rice Burroughs, was somewhat less offensive to modern sensibilities. Phil Collins, who is the primary vocalist, recorded his songs in French, Italian, German, and Spanish for the dubbed versions of the film's soundtrack, so it is likely you saw a version where the songs were in English. This version of Tarzan is reasonably close to the books. Most of the alterations are obviously to make it more appealing to modern children. If you want a more book accurate movie there is really only one, however alongside that one there has been another decent attempt in more recent times. The first movie, "Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes" (1984) keeps remarkably close to the original story, and is certainly the closest adaptation of Tarzan to the book. The second much more recent movie, "The Legend of Tarzan" (2016) and is largely adapted from portions of a later book by the author and historical events in the Congo, while also taking time to show much of the original story in flashback. Both movies benefit from excellent acting and are well worth viewing if you have any further interest in Tarzan.

Oh, I forgot to mention. I believe you mentioned that the girl is a lawyer. So she is more rational. And I believe you mentioned that she has not been to many movies. I do not know if I am mistaken. But I see that she is becoming more and more intrigued by watching business movies. I may be mistaken. But I think I see a development in her character as a viewer. Which is great to see. Otherwise, about the very difference between "IT" 90 and "IT" from 2017. Psychological horror is not in the hysteria. It is just panic. Horror is in the slowness. "IT" new version (this version) has too much hysteria. The scene in the bathroom is my favorite scene, but in "IT" from 90. And in my opinion, that particular scene there is especially scary, because it is slow, there is no hysteria, there is no exaggeration with blood. In other words, it feels much more real and is something that if nightmares really existed in reality, maybe this scene would be exactly what happened in a very similar way in our reality. A slow way, a subdued way, but a saturated way. I would be happy if you could compare the old and new movie versions. In the movie it was never explained what really happened. In the movie there is no turtle and no divine power. Nor was IT itself explained what it is. But it would be great if you could compare the two versions.

They eventually made this movie into a broadway play. The costumes are pretty amazing. It traveled around the USA eventually and my mother and I went to see it when it came to town. I have no real idea but I'm guessing the sets weren't as good as the actual broadway play because it was a traveling show. But still they were very top notch.

"As George approached the canal's mouth to search for his lost boat, he saw two orange eyes staring at him from the subterranean darkness of the canal. George thought it must be some animal that had fallen into the canal and gotten stuck inside. George stood up to leave when a voice from the canal called out to him. George saw that there was a clown inside and his eyes were sky blue." "As George reached out to pick up the boat, the clown grabbed his arm and pulled him away. The boy twisted his face in pain and horror to see that in the darkness of the canal the clown's mouth was full of sharp teeth and his eyes were orange."😁 Tim Curry is a Mr. Butler in Clue and he is an Pennywise in first movie TV series adaptation from 1990 and for me he is my favorite Pennywise. The movie was so old and it didn't have those effects capabilities, but I can only imagine what Tim Curry would have done with the power of today's effects. Unfortunately, we'll never know. But I've been obsessed with IT since the 4th grade. Or maybe even earlier. I'm not sure. This new IT movie from 2017 i saw it in the movie theaters. Bill Skarsgård did a good job as Pennywise, but maybe his performance was overshadowed by the special effects. Or maybe I'm just too big a Curry fan. I don't know. But either way, In my opinion, neither film adaptation is particularly good compared to the book itself. The book is one of my favorites.🙃 The original movie wasn't bad. Especially the first part. But still I'm expecting a new adaptation of the book.😁

The actual medal of honor citation Citation: Private First Class Desmond T. Doss, United States Army, Medical Detachment, 307th Infantry, 77th Infantry Division. Near Urasoe-Mura, Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands, 29 April - 21 May 1945. He was a company aid man when the 1st Battalion assaulted a jagged escarpment 400 feet high. As our troops gained the summit, a heavy concentration of artillery, mortar and machinegun fire crashed into them, inflicting approximately 75 casualties and driving the others back. Private First Class Doss refused to seek cover and remained in the fire-swept area with the many stricken, carrying them one by one to the edge of the escarpment and there lowering them on a rope-supported litter down the face of a cliff to friendly hands. On 2 May, he exposed himself to heavy rifle and mortar fire in rescuing a wounded man 200 yards forward of the lines on the same escarpment; and two days later he treated four men who had been cut down while assaulting a strongly defended cave, advancing through a shower of grenades to within eight yards of enemy forces in a cave's mouth, where he dressed his comrades' wounds before making four separate trips under fire to evacuate them to safety. On 5 May, he unhesitatingly braved enemy shelling and small arms fire to assist an artillery officer. He applied bandages, moved his patient to a spot that offered protection from small-arms fire and, while artillery and mortar shells fell close by, painstakingly administered plasma. Later that day, when an American was severely wounded by fire from a cave, Private First Class Doss crawled to him where he had fallen 25 feet from the enemy position, rendered aid, and carried him 100 yards to safety while continually exposed to enemy fire. On 21 May, in a night attack on high ground near Shuri, he remained in exposed territory while the rest of his company took cover, fearlessly risking the chance that he would be mistaken for an infiltrating Japanese and giving aid to the injured until he was himself seriously wounded in the legs by the explosion of a grenade. Rather than call another aid man from cover, he cared for his own injuries and waited five hours before litter bearers reached him and started carrying him to cover. The trio was caught in an enemy tank attack and Private First Class Doss, seeing a more critically wounded man nearby, crawled off the litter and directed the bearers to give their first attention to the other man. Awaiting the litter bearers' return, he was again struck, this time suffering a compound fracture of one arm. With magnificent fortitude he bound a rifle stock to his shattered arm as a splint and then crawled 300 yards over rough terrain to the aid station. Through his outstanding bravery and unflinching determination in the face of desperately dangerous conditions Private First Class Doss saved the lives of many soldiers. His name became a symbol throughout the 77th Infantry Division for outstanding gallantry far above and beyond the call of duty. He actually saved double this amount, and one time, after a bought of pneumonia! And another time, actually shot by a sniper 😮. And the amazing thing was, when he went out with units, and prayed first, they were always successful. One time he forgot to pray first and that unit got hammered! He never forgot again! Mel Gibson directs true story or truth based movies and they're always beautiful violent and very graphic! This, brave heart, once we were soldiers, and passion of the Christ, Apocalypto. Not sure he directed himself in Gallipoli, but he was in it. Pro tip, the guy with the blown up legs lived! Maybe the bravest soldier who ever lived, type in here, Roy Benevidez the lazarus soldier! I met him once in the early nineties when I was stationed at Bragg? He was a shell of his former self but still so proud to wear his uniform! th-cam.com/video/9iyjpyjswGE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=oCwTU6-huIZLMJGw My Dad had me when he was older. He was in ww2 and a true hero! He fought the Japanese in the island hopping campaigns. He got shot through and through, the spleen. I saw the scars front and back. He patched himself up on the field with mud, big leaves, his torn up T-shirt, and a first aid bandage. Then kept fighting until he got to the rear. He said he could have waited for a medic or stretcher, but he said no way he was going to risk being captured by the Japanese, their brutality was unreal and grotesque. My Dad hated the Japanese for a very long time after this, until I was a teenager, and he became a Christian. Some other great true type or true story war movies are, lone survivor, American sniper, 13 hours, zero dark thirty, hamburger Hill, Big Red one, Dunkirk, 1917, saving Private Ryan, Blackhawk down, once we were soldiers, the longest day, a bridge too far, battle of the bulge, bridge at ramegen, band of brothers, the Pacific, something I think called Masters of the air, and some surreal ones are paths of glory, heaven and earth, apocalypse now, Platoon, thin Red line, boys of company C, full metal jacket, inglorious basterds, catch 22. Kelly's heroes. From the founders of this country who knew they were signing their own death warrants, many of them being killed by the British in their twenties, to some of the heroes of the civil war, to guys u should type in here.... Sgt York, the mother of WiFi famous actress Hedy Lamarr, the British guy who cracked the Enigma code Alan Turing, Audie Murphy, Carlos Hathcock, Chris Kyle, Gordon and Shugart, Roy Benevidez, Marcus Latrell, Desmond, the first medal of honor winner while it was all caught on video, and too many others to list, all are worth watching and typing in, here! Another irony is, his own kids and grandkids had no idea he was even in ww2, until filmmakers came to them, to ask about Doss! He said he wanted no movie made about him. Then documentary guys came to him and said, we are only doing a documentary, no film, but all proceeds from it will go to vets organizations... Doss wanted no pay! Then when this movie was made, Mel agreed to not pay him or the family, to only use documentary footage already shot with him, and profits would go to vets organizations. He agreed! People in media and Hollywood will never give Mel Gibson credit , because he hates Hollywood and is religious. Yes, Doss had a best friend who was catholic, like Smitty, who first hated his guts! But they became best friends, but then he died in Doss arms. Some other individual soldiers tomlearn about. Type in here... Sgt York, Audie Murphy, Carlos Hathcock, Roy Benevidez the Lazarus soldier, Marcus Latrell, Chris Kyle, and finally, Medal of honor winner caught completely on video. Also remember, Doss had previously had pneumonia and caught tuberculosis, which took part of one lung, and in previous battles shattered an arm and leg. And supposedly after this battle, Japanese soldiers talked about throwing grenades right at him, and they either didn't go off, or did, but nothing hit him, or the Japanese talked about having him in their sights many times, but their weapons jammed! But imagine being him, and doing all he did, for 3 years, with arm and leg injuries, and about half lung capacity, plus always near starvation, because he didn't eat meat! I don't know but supposedly the 2nd half of this battle, not one American soldier was killed 😮😮😮😮. Pro tip...the guy with the blown up legs actually lived! Another story is, he was offered many times to do his life story as a film. He always turned it down. He didn't want any money. The documentary guys told him, Mel said he would do a movie, and send profits to vet organizations. He finally agreed. But accepted no money, himself! War is terrible, but sometimes necessary. Germany would have ruled all of Europe north Africa, and Japan had ruled with a death grip, from half of India, all of Asia, and the Pacific islands, with murderous brutal rule. And God has a special heart for soldiers. He said, wherever soldiers go, their feet carry the gospel. We broke Japan's hold on all those countries including China, and even in Korea and Vietnam, they are much better off now, prosperous, advanced, God fearing, than they were, before we got there. Japan was intensely brutal over all countries, specially China and the Philippines. And we freed them. And Japan, became a moral and technical powerhouse, and economically. Thomas Jefferson once said, the tree of liberty must sometimes be watered with the blood of heroes and tyrants. He was right.

The novel and the original film/miniseries from 1990 have both the kids and adults storyline happening at the same time, with scenes switching from one time period to the other. What these 2 films did different is having one part being about the kids and one being about the adults (and change the setting of the kids part from 1960s to 1980s).

This is one of my favorite movies of all time, and I’ve watched it every Christmas since I was a little kid. There are a ton of fun facts about the movie. Edward’s creator was played by the legendary Vincent Price, who was famous for his roles in classic horror movies, and this was his very last film before he died. The a**hole boyfriend was played by Anthony Michael Hall, which was a wildly different role for him, because he was previously known as the geeky, squeaky clean nerd in The Breakfast Club (another fantastic movie you all need to check out!). The neighborhood they filmed in was actually a real suburb in Lakeland, Florida. I’ve been there a few times because I used to live in Tampa about a half hour away. All the houses were actually painted those neon pastel colors for the movie, except the house with the tent, which was covered because the owner refused to paint their house lol. This was just one of many times Tim Burton, Johnny Depp and Winona Rider worked together, and they’ve all had a close working relationship ever since.

I like both versions of It. I like somethings in one and other things in the other one. I'm not really afraid of clowns, so I didn't find Pennywise as scary looking in the original compared to this one. Sure scary things happen in original, but look wise not as scary. I really liked what he did with the Pennywise clown character here. Lucy nailed it on his smile, there's interviews where he shows the smile he makes without the make up. It's a great horror smile. I think you prolly should watch Chapter 2 of this one before watching the original since it has the full story in the original. Same story of course but there are differences. Maybe more details here and there. Naturally these movies have better effects. The original did have more practical effects, but keep in mind, the original was actually a miniseries made for tv on one of the American big three networks. That channel also made miniseries for The Stand, Rose Red, and the Langoliers. So tv budgets are surely smaller than a modern movie, plus there won't be a huge amount of gore and stuff being made for tv back in the day. Today tv shows have a lot more gore like on The Walking Dead, but I dunno if you'd still see real gory stuff on the big three networks like that even today. I do like how Lucy might be coming around to horror movies, as well as other stuff she has watched. Horror is one of my favorite genres. Keep up the good work!

It is not exactly what you think it is. I would agree this film isn't very scary, but it is very unsettling.😉 The casting of the children is very good here, especially Beverly as a strong character. The 80s theme is pretty accurate here. Kids did hang out like that and there were many abandoned houses back then, too. 80s stuff is really in right now, "Stranger Things" for example. Even physical media from the 80s is seeing a big boost in sales right now. Plus, with the worldwide feeling of CGI fatigue is making films with more practical effects in demand. As always I enjoyed Lucy's way of analyzing the film.🥇 Great reactions to Chapter 1, Daniel & Lucy!!!!🎬👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Since I just found your channel a couple of days ago, I just now watched your reaction to this classic film. The lighting and shadows in this movie are incredible. The way faces and expressions are highlighted really add to the dramatic effects. Back then, people were more reserved, but when they spoke, it was with effect and emotion. One thing I did not see mentioned was that most of the crowd in the bar were actually refugees who had fled the Nazis and come to America. When this was made, Germany and Japan were winning the war. It is rumored that the original screenplay had no ending and that the final scene and Rick's dialogue were written the night before the final shooting. I am still loving your thought provoking commentary.

If you’ve seen Stranger Things, did you recognize Finn Wolfhard as Richie, he played Mike in Stranger Things, his character here is so funny. Also, when Beverly is in her bathroom all that stuff that comes out of the drain, represents all the hair she cut off.

The 1990 version was better. Beverly was really nice. I can understand why those boys were hung up on her. At their age, I would have been as well.

How is Beverly an asshole?I’m a bit confused on that assessment 10min in, with no provocation.😮Also, in America, the bullies were just this bad if you were a gay kid ( me) or a nerd, especially in the 80’s.

"Ascerbic" is probably better (based on the bathroom dialogue), but not at the tip of the tongue for English as a second language folks. The bullies are supernaturally enhanced by Pennywise.

@ -I get it, I was hoping you didn’t really think that of her, she kinda has to be that way to get through.I sure hope you react to the sequel or part 2, it has an amazing cast and is so good.

Theater kids got it pretty bad from the bullies, but I guess they're a kind of nerd (fair gay representation, too, least in the '80s).

Hi..I love your reactions! Just wanted to comment though on your perception of the "white pages" you see at the phone booths. I notice you were commenting that it's crazy someone can just look up your address. BACK then you had the option with the phone provider to keep your listing private which meant your info wasn't found in those white pages however you had to pay a fee to the phone provider to keep it private. I find it much much worse in today's world with technology..as all someone needs to do is input your name in google...there's a million sites that list your address so in my opinion its much worse in today's world. At least back then you had an option..today your private info is all over the web...so I'm surprised you guys didn't realize this..everyone's info today is a click away...but love your reactions!

I love Richie's speech in the scene when the Losers Club goes into Pennywise's lair ro save Beverly. "I told you, Bill. I fucking told you. I dont wanna die. It's your fault. You punched me in the face, you made me walk through shitty water, you brought me into a fucking crackhead house, and now....(picks up a baseball bat) I'm gonna have to k*ll this fucking clown. (turns to Pennywise) WELCOME TO THE LOSERS CLUB, ASSHOLE!!!! (bludgeons Pennywise)

One thing they don't address is Double Jeopardy. In the end, they ruled unanimously for acquittal. Under US law, this means he can never be charged again for the same accused crime, even if he was to confess to actually being guilty. Having served on a jury in a murder case before, I can attest that this fact also weighs heavily on your vote. You don't want to wrongly free someone and leave no possibility of justice for the victim's family.

6:19 hun it is relevant. You should always tell your family before bringing your boyfriend/girlfriend of a different race home. You may think you know your family but... you should maje sure and not put them in a very uncomfortable situation. And no, you do not have to give your id if your not driving the car and have done nothing wrong Chris had to take the cotton out of his ears because he needed to hear if someone was sneaking up him. None of jordan peele's movies deal with spirits. And no it would not be possible to put your brain into another human and either of you survive. The brain is way too complex. I don't think this will ever be possible. They can't even remove most brain tumors without killing you. Or making you blind or deaf or changing your personality.

Nice reaction. Yes I think it’s important that you realize when you react you are bringing an adult perspective when the movie is designed for kids. But some concepts in the movie will interest the adults and parents so they enjoy it too. Another movie you may enjoy is “Coco” which is a collaboration between Disney/Pixar. It won an Oscar award for Best Animation.

He did say i shot the clerk but he said it in question form. 😆 the police weren't lying. The reason why Vinny was able to sleep through the riot is because he is from new york city. It's the city that never sleeps. He's use to that kind of noise so he felt at home. 😆 And yes lawyers can be dramatic. Like your said there is a jury. They just need to convince one person out of 12. People are persuaded by drama. I've been a witness in a murder case and a plaintiff in a civil case. There was a little drama on both
