Hi! I am going to be implementing cooperative learning in my class-group very soon and I was wondering if you could tell us what did the teacher use to randomize roles for the groups. :) Thank you!!!
This sounds great.... if you had all the materials. That's awesome that you had those portable whiteboards, and markers, but this would be challenging for a classroom that 1.) isn't a large space; 2.) doesn't have materials; and 3.) an overcrowded classroom... I can see how a large class of 35+ students might get chaotic real quick. Friends, so many friends! Neat idea though, but if you have any of the above 3 issues, it could get very challenging.
A whiteboard can be replaced with a large (A3) piece of paper. These can be placed on tables or on the floor if you don't have tables. It is true that the larger a class gets, the harder they are to manage. That's, unfortunately, a problem that has no magical solution.
Working in groups is a noble learning programme.
This is a brilliant way to teach, in my opinion.

Is there a list somewhere of the roles and what they do to hand to students?

Which randomizer do you use?
Yes, I'm wondering the same thing!
