I'm really hooked on Grunn to keep playing when the full game comes out. I found how to make 4 of the 5 demo endings, and I can't even imagine what's coming next there
Ive got one for ya: Tactical Breach Wizards. It's by Tom Francis who made Gunpoint and Heat Signature, both of which are brilliant. Like those, it's full of well-written sarcastic humour and throwing ppl out of windows.
It's amazing to see so many talented developers showcasing their work at Steam's Next Fest. The demos are incredible, and it's inspiring to see what others have achieved. Thanks for highlighting these great indie games! By the way, maybe one day I'll share my own game with you too ;)
arranger is amazing puzzle game after playing little nightmare started enjoying puzzle games as they let you play without a rush but enjoying the thinking even better if it has a great story!
I liked the demos of Last Moon with its old Zelda games feel, Lords of Ravage for its atmosphere and art style and Sworn for the same reasons. Still lots to discover...
The Big Catch also great as a sort-of-ps1-but-not-quite mascot platformer. Up there with horny rabbit-deer game Psuedoregalia for "How is the platforming this polished?".
I'm glad you're out here playing these demos, but it feels Next Fest is too big to be a very useful discovery tool. I think I'd prefer it if they limited demos to games with firm 1.0 release dates that are happening prior to the next Next Fest. I just can't get excited about a game that may or may not be coming out this year, and/or may or may not be coming out in early access. I guess it's not in Steam's interest to limit wishlists and potential future sales, but with the ever-increasing quantity of games releasing each year, something has to be done to differentiate/segment the market into more manageable chunks.
it is super overwhelming to try and sort through all these games. kinda helps when a bunch of them were already on your radar so you have a nice starting point, but yeah most of these don't have dates. i guess when your wishlist is 700+ titles then there's always something coming out right around the corner lol
@@nocapsbb You're a good egg cap-less. The whole demo festival concept somewhat fails _my_ process. It's good for the gaming media, developers, Steam, content creation, and generating buzz with those peeps who pay attention (or want to pay attention) to indies but don't have the time or inclination to deep dive all the time, so for all those reasons I'm glad they're out there available for everyone, but if you prefer to go into most games cold, as I usually do, demos also run afoul of that aim.
Hey! I have a cool game recomendation that i think youd like! "Unbeatable" was shown at the PC gaming showcase, its demo has been out for a while though. Its a rhythm game where music is illegal and you do crimes!
Dang, at first glance i thought you were talking about Undefeated a game thats also out for quite a while, and exactly the opposite of Ubeatable as you are a Hero that defeats villains and rescues civilians, a free student project This game was planned and created by three students from Vantan Game Academy, Osaka. I guess they just need a good playerbase following, as they are working on a sequel.
Ace video. Subbed. Caravan Sandwitch was a good time - definitely looking forward to the full release. I also enjoyed the following: Tactical Breach Wizards Aloft Reka Dungeons of Hinterberg Tiny Glade Creatures of Ava Akimbot Plan to try Alters Blue Prince Feed The Deep Moon Mystery Parcel Corps Steel Seed Vampire Dynasty Codename: Ocean Keeper Hmmm. Probably won’t get through all of those but gonna try.
It has been like 3 hours! Granted I have been in class all day but I have barely had time to find 35 demo's and play 2 of them. Much less make an 8 minute video going over 8 of them.
What do we call horror games that aren't quite horror enough to be horror? 🤔 Spooksy games? :D That room roguelite game totally reminds me of boardgames with tile building :) Hey, by the way! During this video, I suddenly envisioned your videos enriched by small whimsical lower thirds for presenting the game names. I bet there's some graphics out there that totally fit your minimalist, laidback style 🌈
If you liked caravan sandwitch, don't sleep on Dungeons of Hinterberg. Kinda same vibe, but with a little combat. I liked both, but enjoyed this one more. If you like chill out games like "my time at portia/sandrock, creature cove is cool. The most interesting demo for me though was Alters.
Not sure if it was on next fest but The Big Catch demo just released and i sunk 8 hours into it by now. It was a small kickstarter project that will come out sometime next year! It's a throwback to old n64 style 3D platformers but quite punishing if you fail to learn all the movement mechanics the game has to offer.
the demo for tiny glade and the sequels for Airborne kingdom and What the Golf, both called Airborne Empire and What the Car! are definitely something I'm looking forward to
Not sure if this one is your jam, but Hollywood Animals is great. It's from the makers of This is the Police, and it's shaping up to be one of the best management games out there.
Grunn and Mirthwood are very interesting visually, though not my usual type of games....Parking Garage Rally Circuit looks Awesome! Love the graphics and I've found I really like silly arcade racers...and Pipistrello definitely looks up my alley. Thanks again!
Im excited for Caravan Sandwitch. By the way you said performance was polished and I agree but I use the steam deck and had to set it low for 60fps. Were you also using a steam deck? just for comparison
Maybe the Athenian Rhapsody Demo could be something for you, not sure its your humor though, you can make friends or decide to kill everyone that attacks you(kinda like undertale), because they are hungry for EXP. Also the Game starts with a Personality test, i was very amused at the answers you can give😉🤣
Out of the 30+ I've tried so far, GUNCHO is probably my favourite (with Rise of the Golden Idol, but no surprise here). It's a really clever tactical roguelike, mostly reminiscent of Hoplite but with a cowboy theme. Other games in my top: Observe, KILL KNIGHT, Pup Champs, Push the Cat with WAST, ODDADA

I love nextfest its so under-rated
Blue Princess, Big Catch, and caravan

I was a major fan of the Angeline Era demo, the next game by the studio behind Anodyne 1 & 2 and Sephonie!
ok i really need to play that, been hearing a lot of people talk about it
I have 98 wishlisted games with demos in Next Fest. I’m going in!
i have 46 wishlist on my game)))
You have such good taste. These all look amazing! Big fan of Caravan Sandwitch too!
Best next fest vid I've seen so far, downloaded pretty much all the suggestions. Thanks!
you're cool, nocaps :-]
hey, you too!
"Blue Prince" looks really intriguing to me. "Parking Garage Rally Circuit" isn't up my alley but I'm super excited about everything else.
I liked the demos of Last Moon with its old Zelda games feel, Lords of Ravage for its atmosphere and art style and Sworn for the same reasons. Still lots to discover...
Thanks for the recommendation, just tried this, really like it & it looks gorgeous.
The Big Catch also great as a sort-of-ps1-but-not-quite mascot platformer. Up there with horny rabbit-deer game Psuedoregalia for "How is the platforming this polished?".
been messing around with that one the past few days!
Caravan SandWitch looks dope, I'll check the demo.

Ah ive seen a game like ARRANGER before, maybe on the DS or 3DS... bah can't remember :-( looks intriguing
Ace video. Subbed.
Caravan Sandwitch was a good time - definitely looking forward to the full release. I also enjoyed the following:
Tactical Breach Wizards
Aloft
Reka
Dungeons of Hinterberg
Tiny Glade
Creatures of Ava
Akimbot
Plan to try
Alters
Blue Prince
Feed The Deep
Moon Mystery
Parcel Corps
Steel Seed
Vampire Dynasty
Codename: Ocean Keeper
Hmmm. Probably won’t get through all of those but gonna try.

a lot of them released early over the weekend :p

😮😮😮😮😮...Parcel Corps is Jet Set Radio meets Crazy Taxi... I didn't know I want this until now!

You should check out the demo for Dimhaven Enigma if you like puzzle games!
the demo's been out for a while, but I'd recommend LOK digital
Yo this channel is pretty dope. Added some games I’ve never heard of to my wishlist
Could you do an update for the big catch? It recently released its demo and I would love to see you cover it
Grunn and Mirthwood are very interesting visually, though not my usual type of games....Parking Garage Rally Circuit looks Awesome! Love the graphics and I've found I really like silly arcade racers...and Pipistrello definitely looks up my alley. Thanks again!
Hollywood Animal was my favorite from this event.
Great line up! Subscribing to your channel!
Im excited for Caravan Sandwitch. By the way you said performance was polished and I agree but I use the steam deck and had to set it low for 60fps. Were you also using a steam deck? just for comparison
nope, just on PC. cool to know that it works on Deck though
Mirthwood, I'm waiting :D

The big catch got a demo recently

You are crazy fast!

Seems like there wast news from Nivalis but there are some other very promiseing titles i did not know about. Thx for the Video.
Dope
picking up the Bikecycle out of the Backpack is a good invention.
Jeah its much cooler than just jumping on a new one whitch appears out of nowhere.
Woohoo! More Caravan gameplay! Love to see it.
Literally how is this video already up 😂
it's all thanks to a bunch of devs trying to beat everyone to the punch by uploading their demos early..
