    Hi Derek, personally I find this HiLux the most beautifull PickUp from Japan. I like the "bigger" Toyota's, by my self I own a Landcruiser HZJ74 in nearly perfect condition. I liked this video, because its shows also a little bit of the japanese daily life!
    Merry Christmas to you and your family.
    I'm looking forward for the next upload!
    Greetings from the Netherlands.

    Merry Xmas from Fiji Islands Derek. Hilux is the best 4x4 for us here. Hope you can feature the Crown Comfort (supercharged version) in one of your video 😊

    I used to own a 1995 Mitsubishi L200 diesel 2.5 truck. Unfortunately we scraped it and I regret for doing that! :(

    Lovely looking Toyota truck. IMHO, this was the last of the good looking Toyota trucks before the Tacoma debuted.

    Hilux is life. My family has own several and here where I live they are everywhere. I am a farmer so we use them as tough they come. The engines are high quality and the pick up will take big loads 1 ton and more aesily. We had a 1994 and it was a beast now we bought a more modern one from 2018. The 1994 was a Japanese and our new model is made in Thailand but it gets the job done.

    I used to own a USA spec 1994 extra cab 4wd... I remember having a different key in ignition chime. The chime in this video sounds like it’s from a 90’s Ford Explorer. Super weird.

      Yep, it’s because this pickup was sold in and designed in Japan’s. Their market is different compared to America so, they have different specs and features in their vehicles. That’s why this truck is called a Hilux in Japan but was called the “pickup” in America until 1995. There’s always going to be slight differences in our cars vs theirs. Just like their steering wheel is on the opposite side.

    Hey Derek, I’ve got a question, I’m just wondering but do they only sell hilux over there or is other Toyota truck lines, like the Tacoma? I know the tundra is North American

    So how do people avoid the 25% chicken tax? Because pickups are 25% vs the 2.5% of cars and suv’s

  • @FuzzyBagels
    @FuzzyBagels 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Could one of these be imported into California? From what I understand 1997 and older diesel vehicles are exempt from smog in California, so does that mean they would be more easily registerable?

    • @mitchcardosi92
      @mitchcardosi92 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      mrfuzzybagels yes they can, however, be aware that pickups carry the 25% chicken tax on the price of the vehicle
