    Small thing but I love that little divider between bed/kitchen sink and counter. I see a lot of conversions where I wonder if their beds get wet!

    Nice build. I prefer the gas cook top too, and she has enough power and inverter for anything she will ever need. Very resourceful and smart she is. How refreshing is that nowadays? Kudos Carrie! Well done!

      I'd like to see more with fire extinguishers and CO2 detection if you're using gas. But that's just me.
      Carbon monoxide is odorless and tasteless. The rotten egg smell in natural gas is put there on purpose. It can of course asphyxiatate as well as blow up when it finds a spark.
      If you don't feel so great, unlike any other illness, and you also feel tired, that could be CO2 poisoning. It feels like a combo of a bad pot high and being drunk. With a headache.
      With cars, you don't get the odor warning, because it's gasoline. Any time it's running, you have a risk.
      CO2 detection goes on the floor at the lowest point. And of course, smoke goes up top.
      I don't know why they put them on one unit. I'm shocked they havent been sued yet.
      Just so anyone who doesn't know won't get hurt because they didn't know...
      If you have gas, you can have a leak. Idling at all, even outside, can kill you. Sleeping in an idling vehicle isn't a great idea, because how would you know you're getting poisoned? You wouldn't.
      Inside a garage with the door open isn't a guarantee, either.
      Tankless gas things (water heaters) can also kill you. I heard of this poor family who went to stay in Mexico. Whole family and the poor dog were killed. Not sure if they tried to modify from one type of gas to another or they just didn't vent it right, OR the machine itself was faulty.
      In the old days, I think it was an English thing. Because I've never heard of a gas geyser (water heater for the bathroom only) in the States. I've seen them in places like India, tho.
      With a small dise. You just get unpleasantly sick in a weird way as mentioned. But a large dose, especially in a closed-up, small area like a van or bathroom, and it's likely it wouldn't take long to just kill you quickly. Particularly when people are lying down relaxing.
      Maybe a bit off, but worth it if someone reads and takes precautions (CO2/carbon monoxide detector, don't run the car in the garage, even w door open for long), don't idle, even outside for long...
      Of all the ways to go, I can think of much worse, but it's still sad. And very avoidable.

    I think it would have been great if you’ve incorporated a hidden shower in this van build. An indoor shower is a must in my opinion esp in colder months.

    • @pinkscantron86
      @pinkscantron86 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Having a shower would be such a luxury indeed! I opted to use my space for components I prioritized over the shower. All personal preference but planet fitness has great facilities and can be found all over 🙌🏼

    • @kathme120
      @kathme120 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not a must - a choice. They also add moisture and of course, the loss of space. Depends on what your priorities are. Gym memberships are cheap and the deep sink is good for washing hair and spot cleaning!

    • @imshinobikai
      @imshinobikai 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kathme120 yup well that’s just my personal opinion. Who knows you’ll be in a situation where you don’t have access to public showers. It happens esp when you’re off the grid. A hidden shower would still be a perfect feature to have. It’s hidden so it’s not a wasted space or whatsoever. You could put it under the bench or put a water drainage on the floor and hang a shower curtain when you need to shower and tuck everything away after use.

    Truly a fantastic DIY build! I'm also glad that you've taken security measures. A couple of possible sources of income on the road would be as a consultant to other van builders or van lifers, or maybe even write an E-Book on your build since you already have so much of it captured on images.

    Excellent build. Very nicely done. I would have to stick to warm weather climes since the shower is outside. Nog a cold weather fan anyway. I’m not doing @on wheels@ life right now but something I have as a safety measure is (and no ond is paying me to say this but that’s ok) I purchased an Apple Watch. Being a woman of a certain age group and having a very bad knee my balance isn’t the greatest. If I fall and need help the watch will notify emergency service. Even if I’m unable to press the crown on the watch it will still notify help. Not sure if it works if you just need help. But it’s stylish, has plenty of functions and I can switch the bands out to match what I’m wearing. I can also talk on the phone through it! You have a cute pupper too! Many happy travels and Vaya con Dios!

      @@janetslicer3637 it’s advertisement that allows Tiny Home Tours to pay its videographers and video editors so that they can keep creating videos that are free to watch for you. Unfortunately that’s the way the video media industry works. If you aren’t directly paying to watch it, it’s got to be paid for in another way.
      All the footage in that ad is actual members of the tiny home tours team using radpower bikes too. They actually use the product they’re advertising, which I think is pretty cool.
      Pro tip: if the advertisement is something you don’t have any particular interest in, just double tap the right side of the screen (if watching on phone or tablet) and skip ahead until you’re through the ad. I do it all the time for channels that I love and subscribe to. I get to stay subscribed to the content I love but don’t have to watch ads for things I wouldn’t buy anyway. :)
