Yes, but you don‘t have to make the image that flat. Probably only do the color correction. If it burns through your paper or too deep, you have to use the contrast step as well :)
Does the image have to be inverted? I did not see you hit the “invert” button. The skeldon algorithm does not seem to invert on its own. Please explain.

Basically scratchpaper is scratchpaper. It‘s just a personal thing which colors you like more :)

No, since every algorithms is completely different. It also depends on your laser, not materials.

When you select the slate it inverts automatically for any of the algorithms
