I think the worst thing Mario has done is acting like a prick to Luigi
He doesn’t do mean stuff to Luigi. Sure there may have been some instances where we can question it, but Mario has done some nice things to Luigi, like save him ever since they were babies, he even helped Luigi save Peach in Luigi’s Mansion 3, be even saved Luigi from Boos I’m Super Mario Galaxy and the super Mario 64 remake on the DS

In some of the games that Luigi is in with Mario he just so greedy and undeserving and acts like Luigi is some dead weight
Remember that time when Mario was aggressively crushing Luigi’s foot in Mario Tennis after he won the tournament. Besides congratulating him he decided to put Luigi emotions down for winning instead of himself.

10. There’s no evidence that he’s actually cheating. The game’s just at a high difficulty.
9. Okay, I can see what you’re coming from. But I think Mario was just trying to take Donkey Kong away somewhere far away so he wouldn’t terrorize the city.
8. Yes, I can see that the Mega Mushroom is too OP, but other characters like Luigi, Peach, and Toad have used this powerup too. Why only put the blame on Mario?
7. Gooper Blooper is not an animal. It’s a monster that Bowser Jr. created using his paintbrush to pollute Ricco Harbor. Mario had to kill it in order to save the Harbor.
6. Wario was trying to steal that statue out of greed. Mario was just taking it back to the Mushroom Kingdom. He was doing the right thing.
5. His heart seems to be set on Peach. Mario only saved those other princesses out of doing the right thing. It’s said that Daisy is Peach’s best friend, so maybe a Peach requested Mario to save her.
4. This one, I kinda agree on. So I’ll give you props.
3. The manual said the Toads were turned into BRICKS, not brick BLOCKS. Mario was just breaking apart the blocks so that the Toads aren’t stuck together when they get turned back to normal. On top of that, he might not even KNOW the bricks are Toads.
2. Mario’s “punching” is actually him pointing his finger out. The SNES doesn’t have the power to show it. Yoshi comes back as an egg after you “sacrifice” him.
1. Capturing bad guys is okay since it serves them right. Capturing inanimate objects is kinda weird, but nothing against it. But capturing civilians and animals is messed up. But Cappy’s the one who gave Mario this power. For all we know, Cappy might be controlling Mario to do all these heinous acts just to get his sister back. CAPPY’S THE TRUE VILLAIN!

Well #4’s as I said, there are multiple kinds of doctors and a doctor in medicine is most likely where Mario falls under. Also, there is no proof he doesn’t have a medical degree

Well said. Also, Mario's actions(with the possible exception for #4) is nowhere near as bad as Link's! I mean, Link enters people's houses at will without knocking whatsoever, places bombs right outside people's front door or/and inside their houses, violates gravestones, slashes chickens(even though it doesn't go unpunished), smashes pots, ruining people's gardens and spent an entire TV show sexually harassing Zelda!

You have to remember that in his early years, continuity wasn't Mario's or Nintendo's focus. Mario exists to serve the player, and his makers prioritize game play and interactivity over story. When you're Mario (or playing as him) you either go big or go home.

#5’s: He is with Peach. Besides what’s wrong with saving other people because that’s what Mario is doing. Besides the hearts are most likely the princesses showing their appreciation to Mario for saving them.
#4’s: There are multiple kinds of doctors in the medical field. A doctor in medicine is one that Dr. Mario would most likely fall under because he does stuff with pills.
#3’s: Nintendo themselves have said that Mario doesn’t kill lots of Toads every time he smashes a brick or stone.
#2’s: Mario using Yoshi to get an extra jump is the Player’s decision and Mario shouldn’t be faulted for that. And Nintendo has stated that Mario punching Yoshi was the originally their idea, but they didn’t go for it because it would see Mario as abusive. Plus, he is putting his arm as if saying “Go!” because it said so in the Super Mario World Manuel.
#1’s: It’s for a good cause, besides it’s not like he’s killing them. And some of the characters themselves seem in good spirits after Mario possesses them.

I absolutely love the choice you put at number 6. I've seen videos in the past that talk about how Mario isn't truly a hero, and they never mention that. That's the first one I always think about because I never playing that game as a kid in the 90s and seeing Mario snatch that away from Wario

People keep doing that just to make Mario look like a bad boyfriend to Peach (and Pauline via the early 1980s and even Princess Daisy via the 1990s), an enslaver of Yoshis, a jealous rival to Bowser and Wario and a bad brother to Luigi despite everything he’s done for them! It’s Nintendo’s equivalent to Sonic (the franchise, the titular main characters and their reputations having really soured over the years).

Most of these things are false or justified. There’s no proof that he’s cheating at Go Fish. Mega Mushroom usage/damage and Yoshi killing is SOLELY dependant on the player, not Mario himself. Gooper Blooper was created by Bowser Jr. to pollute the water. Mario hasn’t killed ANY Toads due to them becoming Item/Hidden Blocks (which are unbreakable). Miyamoto originally planned for Mario to hit Yoshi, but it was revised to directing Yoshi instead (SNES sprites had limitations). Mario isn’t in a relationship with any of the princesses (nor Pauline anymore), he’s been stated to have “romantic interest for Peach”. Wario was LITERALLY going to sell off Peach’s statue until Mario intervened. Capturing a Bowser’s EVIL minions isn’t bad, plus Cappy’s actually capturing them. You got me on DK and Dr. Mario, but y’all tried hard af to make Mario look eViL😂😂.
