    After I did the "Boolean Difference" and hit accept, It COMPLETELY DESTROYS the main object!! While I like the video, it should be noted, that if what happened to me, happens to you, there is an option BEFORE you hit "ACCEPT", uncheck the "Auto-Reduce Result" option then it should work. (It did for me).

    great tutorial but what version of meshmixer did you use? im using 3.5 and the menu that showed after i dropped the cylinder was not "drop solid" it was "transform." in fact i have found no such menu anywhere nor boolean feature in edit. Am i doing something wrong? Thanks to anyone who can help. Cheers

      It is different between you dropping it on an object and elsewhere, to get to that menu you need to drop it on the other object.
      For me it was easier to create it as a separate object and then subtract by selecting both (in the th-cam.com/video/zQHXmjlBn2k/w-d-xo.html time)

    Thank you, I was looking for a way to easily create different sized holes in my hollowed mesh without re-importing into another software. This is super easy and well explained, much appreciated

    Thanks so much! This helped me solve this problem big time. Question: Can you duplicate a hole that you created with Boolean Difference? so you don't have to recreate it for each hole?

    Everytime I try to make a hole on my design I keep getting an error with 2 blue lines and one red one. I am trying to make a socket for a lithophane and for some reason it will not work. Uhgg how do I fix it?

    Disappointing when tutorials don't actually explain what any of the settings do. You say "if you're happy with it, press Accept". What if I'm not happy with it? How do I tweak the results? This kind of basic instruction didn't need to be a video, a simple paragraph of text could have explained everything you did. If you're going to do a video, explain what the settings mean. Give it some value rather than just basic "do this" institutions.

      @3dcosplaylab ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Some people prefer visual examples even if it's something as simple as this just because you werent happy with the results it does not mean that it shouldn't be a video.
