Thanks to you for all your hard work and dedication to the nursing profession and the community in San Antonio! It is a great honor to be your neighbor and dear friend for more than 25 years! You are inspirational!
can you not type in a specific degree to cut at?
amazing tutorial, how can i learn how to make different shapes for the hole? i need a non geometical hole
Dandy video pard'...I wish you had expanded on this video and explained 'Selective' cuts, or more complex cuts where your cuts change direction such as cutting a 90 degree 'slice' out of a model. I don't suppose you made one of those? Or perhaps point me at someone who has? Many thanks in advance.
If I had a nickel for every time he said "actually"...
my problem is that doesnt work for me. when i click boolean difference it shows the hole fine like 6:37 but when i actually click accept adn to does it it doesnt make the hole and just warps the original object. dunno y it does this
How to add to or remove from the selection? If I screwed up the last step in the selection and I undo it, it removes the whole selection. How to undo the last step only?
thanks!, i was going nuts
excellent, thanks!
Finally. A video that just gets to the point. Thankyou!
Dude thank you so much. You don't know how long I've been looking for something like this
Thank you. Clear, concise and comprehensive. Just what we beginners need.
Okay so you told us how NOT to separate.... wanna tell us how we SHOULD separate?
After I did the "Boolean Difference" and hit accept, It COMPLETELY DESTROYS the main object!! While I like the video, it should be noted, that if what happened to me, happens to you, there is an option BEFORE you hit "ACCEPT", uncheck the "Auto-Reduce Result" option then it should work. (It did for me).
Saved my whole project with this comment , thank you!
meshmixer is absolutely horrible
Lifesaver
Incredible, a whole day watching videos about plane cut and nobody says how to move more gradually when you move the height of the cut with the arrows, I give up
I was having the same problem. While you're dragging the plane, tap the up arrow on your keyboard to increase the precision of the movement by adding more increments
@@ivanatinkle19 omg, i can't believe you gave me this solution (i scope you understand me, my english is realy bad lol)... thanks a lot, realy
@@jmbustosarg glad I could help!
@@ivanatinkle19 Thanks so much, this is exactly what I was looking for. No video online explains this.
@@ivanatinkle19 Thank you, dear stranger, had the same issue.
groovy tutorial. One of the cleanest and most direct ones I've found for MM. thanks!
Good evening, I have a similar scanner but I can't find the software, do you have it?
Bolean subtract no long an option in meshmixer when dragging solids onto the space...
Thank you for the help. Exactly what I needed
thank this realy helped
Crazy how this is coming from a health channel. Nevertheless, thank you very much for the explanation!
ctrl+shift+O to open Object browser
What about the slice groups option?
Master! God bless you for sharing such knowledge and more!
Wow, that really helped me. Thanks!!!
Nice tutorial, thanks a lot!
Why does mine keep filling the hole after doing this?.
Disappointing when tutorials don't actually explain what any of the settings do. You say "if you're happy with it, press Accept". What if I'm not happy with it? How do I tweak the results? This kind of basic instruction didn't need to be a video, a simple paragraph of text could have explained everything you did. If you're going to do a video, explain what the settings mean. Give it some value rather than just basic "do this" institutions.
Some people prefer visual examples even if it's something as simple as this just because you werent happy with the results it does not mean that it shouldn't be a video.
The selected area I try to stretch only turns red and doesn’t bring up a compass to pull part and when i try to smooth boundary the selected area only turns red.
Ye, im trying to fix that too
Thank you, I was looking for a way to easily create different sized holes in my hollowed mesh without re-importing into another software. This is super easy and well explained, much appreciated
thank you so much, you saved my project. it is so good to follow.
Great explanation of zotero and the process in general. Thank you!
Everytime I try to make a hole on my design I keep getting an error with 2 blue lines and one red one. I am trying to make a socket for a lithophane and for some reason it will not work. Uhgg how do I fix it?
Thanks for this! One thing, I tried to use this to enlarge an existing hole I had in a model and instead of doing that it seemed to fill it. I definitely did boolean difference
The preview even shows it making the hole like it should do so Im a bit lost
I was here looking for an answer for the same issue. I just figured it out- un check 'Auto-reduce result' before clicking accept.
@@thewarthogproject I did exactly that and it still does the same. it wont cut a hole
@@thewarthogproject Thanks for this!! I had the same problem
@@thewarthogproject thank you! Worked great for me. I appreciate your help 😊😊
thank you very much i love you
3:54 How to turn on Scanstudio HD Pro. I don't have HD Pro, while i see my account "HD Pro i copy used". Please help.
interesting that you need that extra step to separate the shells. Thanks for saving me a headache.
And all I needed was your comment to end my headache. Thx!
Thank you very much!
You should say, 'I'm left clicking' , 'I'm press and hold the right mouse button'. I know it's obvious to you, but not obvious to everyone. Thanks for video.
thanks just what i was looking for :D
in my case i have problem. Before clicking "accept" i looks ok, but after that hole is about 10% depth on 2 sides (enter and escape of object) but between then there is something like trinagle shape. imgur.com/zH0e7sh can you look on that please? :(
I got the same problem as yours initially. Then after fliddling with other options I fixed that by first turning the cutting shape (i.e. customised cylinder in this case) to "make solid" (from the "edit" tab) before performing the boolean difference. Hope that works on your object too. My guess on how that issue happened is because my STL model was a surface mesh rather than solid mesh at the first place.
@@superivanho Dude, you're a lifesaver! any way to make it mirror?
Thanks so much! This helped me solve this problem big time. Question: Can you duplicate a hole that you created with Boolean Difference? so you don't have to recreate it for each hole?
Gosh! Your videos are sooooo helpful! i really enjoy this simple way you show how the program woks, thank you a lot!
thank you very good video
Thx u bro!! greetings from argentina , good tutorial
great tutorial but what version of meshmixer did you use? im using 3.5 and the menu that showed after i dropped the cylinder was not "drop solid" it was "transform." in fact i have found no such menu anywhere nor boolean feature in edit. Am i doing something wrong? Thanks to anyone who can help. Cheers
It is different between you dropping it on an object and elsewhere, to get to that menu you need to drop it on the other object. For me it was easier to create it as a separate object and then subtract by selecting both (in the th-cam.com/video/zQHXmjlBn2k/w-d-xo.html time)
Thanks, this was helpful and clearly explained!
Thank you, I was stumped as to how you changed the length of a dropped cylinder :)

I cheated in exam by this video :D hah
