Love these Winter pointers!! I am consistent depending on the season. Winter - It’s twists, head wraps and wash day every 2 weeks. Summer - It’s wash-n-go season with co-washes every 2 days & Full Wash Day every 7 days. I have retained length (behind shoulders w/shrinkage; just above bra line without shrinkage) and find that I need to be concerned about friction on my ends…..even in Summer. I will be following you closely for styling tips and guidelines for Spring/Summer!! *New Subbie*
I love these videos, thank you! Can you share your favorite bonnets or silky barriers? There was a vendor I used on Etsy who closed her shop, she used mulberry silk.
Thanks for constant reminders to be consistent. Perhaps the word you were looking for to describe winter is miserable? Lol that's my Canadian winters in a nutshell! May I ask, what do you do with your hair when you don't have twists in?
Hi Mya! Thank you for the tips. Could you please tell me how you dry your hair, esp. since I know you have low porosity hair like mine. After washing it takes mine about 2.5 to 3 days to dry. Do you use different products in the fall/winter? (for styling, leave-ins etc.) BTW...You look elegant as always! ❤
Hey MJ and thank you! It takes my hair forever to dry to as well. When I do not stretch my hair with the tension method and allow to air dry it can take 1-2 days for it to dry. Trust me lol, its not just you ! For right now I use the same products it just depends on the season: Curl Enhancing Smoothie Curls Blueberry hair and scalp oil Curls Blueberry Bliss Aloe & Blueberry Juice Moisturizer Spring/Summer I use the Curls Juice Moisturizer on the length of my hair and the Curl Enhancing Smoothie on the ends. Fall Winter I am heavier with the Curl Enhancing Smoothie, I will put it on the length/shaft of my hair and of course my ends as well. I find that my hair dries out more during winter months so my re-moisturize schedule is tweaked and upped a little bit.
My mom told me long ago not to go out with soaking wet hair. I've followed that advice. I just sit under a bonnet dryer to dry my hair to at least 80% dry and let the rest air dry (usually in less than 1 day). I've never gotten heat damage from that.
Absolutely there is, but some of us have tried for DECADES to grow our hair past a certain length and videos like this are invaluable. Irish girl here with fine kinky hair that breaks very easily. Finding channels like yours has literally revolutionized my hair care and its length! Thank you Mya!

Thank you for the reminder to stay consistent. I notice I was getting lazy as it got cooler. I'm just so cozy in my sweater lol but I hear you :))
Ok so it's not just me lol. I LIVE in sweaters during Fall and Winter.
I have straight hair and I’m a new subscriber. Hair is definitely the ultimate fashion accessory for sure.
