    Love your straight forwardness. I related to so many of the things you said. It is really strange how we accustom ourselves to a 'look.' How we don't easily recognize ourselves without it. On a side note, you were talking about hydration, I didn't know! Thanks. Here are some other supplements, specifically for hair, that a friend told me about. I love the response in the growth and health I have experienced with my hair, probably skin (but I haven't noticed): Glutathione, N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine and BioAstin (Astaxanthin)

    I'm white, I have always felt that black women often have a natural beauty that gets hidden when they wear wigs or fake things. I would say I feel that way in general about women of all races. I've seen plenty of black women without any of these things and thought "gorgeous, wow" but I've never felt that way about the ones who have fake stuff all over.

    • @etherealessence159

      That’s funny my white husband rip demystified how you your sister your mothers and grandmothers wear wigs toppers hair pieces clip on falls, etc. don’t play obtuse like you guys aren’t the queen of fake care you are
      it’s just that you aren’t over exposing yourself nor are the males of your race dissing you because of it

    • @pinkchilldivestmentor
      @pinkchilldivestmentor 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      I have mixed feelings I think this is an individual choice and black women are the only ones who have to make all these announcements as white and nonblack women are steadily wearing their wigs clip ons extensions toppers, falls, etc. they just don’t advertise their insecurities like black women do

    • @rosemary_and_vines
      @rosemary_and_vines  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Thank you for the comment. Unfortunately the "standard" of beauty in media and the zeitgeist isn't afro or natural hair. It's getting better don't get me wrong, but a lot of black women still feel its better to use wigs and weaves to fit in. They still look beautiful and amazing and wigs and weaves can be part of their style and if they boost confidence I love that for them. But as you've seen, its hard not to notice a full, wonderful afro.

    Ngl, I was initially against wearing wigs & weaves early in adulthood b/c i didn’t want to succumb to an unhealthy motive for wearing them after going natural. Black female beauty is always under such scrutiny because we stand out naturally in all the ways that women of other races naturally fit in- our hair textures, complexion, and sometimes, our natural endowments. It’s a fight to accept our natural selves. Wtbs, I want to see my hair at its full potential -long, strong, and nourished, so that’s why i’ve decided to wear wigs in the meantime. I don’t want to over manipulate my hair while I’m caring for it (with the hydration, oils, natural products) and giving it a much needed styling break.

    Thank God I have never felt like this, I have and always been proud of my afro and feel more confident with my natural hair, I also do different cuts, tint and shave bald.. mind you my hair is brittle breaks a lot but still am happier in it than the few occasions I wear straight hair wigs, afro wigs turns to be my most preferred

    I believe thats why people was so jealous of our type hair way back then...if you really think about it... If our hair type wasnt so important back then..nobody wouldn't said anything, but obviously it was and still is. Im excited right now!! Im a black woman that wears her hair natural all the damn time.... And proud of it!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤ So many things that happened to us black people back then!!! I know im still proud to be Black!!!!!!❤😂❤😂❤😂❤😂❤❤❤

    Remember where this body and beauty image has stemmed from. Beauty comes from within. There are so many people who society/media have named beautiful but these people cannot hold on to a relationship. So it’s not all about looks, it’s about you as a person. What is the point of being with someone because they fit in with society as being beautiful / handsome and they are boring as hell . So glad your hair is back to its healthy state. 🙏💖

    If we keep the focus on us and care about our self,,then we shouldn't be stressed out about people focusing on our hair... If anything they need to focus on them. Our Kinky hair is the most strongest hair,,,if anybody didnt know..well now you know lol!!!!!!❤😂❤😂❤😂❤

    You’re beautiful without weave , wigs or makeup. It is vanity to be obsessed with things contrary to the way God made us . May the Lord grant you husband and many abundance on this journey of life . Jesus will free us from anything that is oppressing us ❤. Jesus is the way , the truth, and the life . Blessings to you sister.

    I love braids on black girls but I feel so unreal when I have them I can’t recognize myself and I have trouble doing the things I do so easily I don’t feel comfy in my skin until I have my natural hair back so the braids end up lasting a week lol. I loved everything about your video
