- In this video I am applying a Silicone Render. This is a quick guide on how to apply the silicone render on the wall.
This brand of render is from a company called Ceresit. It contains a quartz stone in the mixture with additional additives that helps maintain colour, and integrity. This product and application creates a very long lasting finish, additionally the quartz finish offered by the product protects the finished surfaces from damaging UV light rays.

Still alive. Thanks for dropping by mate
Amazing really how this took off i started doing this in 1999, over 20years later its still as big as ever 👍
Yes it is .thanks for watching
That looks brilliant am 65 been a plasterer for 48 years and havint put thincoat on is it that easy
Hi . Yes , definitely it's easier than the traditional render and because the base coat has a mesh embedded in it , it will be very difficult to get any cracks in time
Great video
Thanks
Have you got a video showing putting on the base coat and meshing it?
And also can you stick the plastic beading on with Pink Grip adhesive?
Yes. Pink grip is good just in the bin , use a good exterior adhesive or silicon, ob1,ct1

@@How2Extreme Hi great job thanks for the link, so am i right using Cerisit it is the basecoat (adhesive) one coat with mesh embeded then a second thin coat when the first coat is dry, then the silicon render on the top?
If the above is correct what thickness beading do I need to buy to build out the two base layers ready for the silicon top coat, I’m confident I can do a job but just need to double check I’m on track with the process?
Thank you for your reply’s.
@Happytruth you are ready to go, it seems. Beads are not important. You can decide the thickness
Very good job my friend 👍 well done 👏
thanks'

You’re really calm and easy to listen to. Can I ask if this a one coat system? As sone other brands have to be primed and top coated with a special product. So there are three stages - undercoat, primer and top coat. Yours is only one. Would this work just as well? Also, in this case you didn’t use any mesh. Is it because there were no joints and the area was small. Many thanks and thanks for all your videos and advice.
Hi. In this video, i just applied the final coat it was already prepared with adhesive, mesh, and primer
@@How2Extreme that makes sense. Thanks for the reply Sorin. 👍🏻
@almusti thanks for the visit
Using krends Thincoat system at the minute it very different to this system. It can sit no more than a couple of minutes and we put it on as tight as possible any heavier and you don't get the finsh required
A bit more difficult but not impossible
A bit more difficult but not impossible
Thats it we were lucky there's a few areas that won't be seen so we got to play about 1st
I just used the weber thin coat and had no more than 3-4 minutes to rub it up. Virtually the thickness of a coat of paint .... good stuff but you don't want to rub a dried section by accident 😫
@@farikomike524 hello mate . What is this Weber thin coat you speak of ? I've done some rendering for the first time but there are areas where it looks terrible , I've over sponged the top coat . Do you think this product would sort it ? and do you have to rub it up or can you leave it a ' rough effect ' ?
I've just this minute been recommended by YT about this channel . . Is render adhesive the same as primer ? First vid I've seen using this method . . Thank you from England 🏴
hi and hello from Barking London. The primer it's not the same its more liquid and the quartz in it it's sandy. Thanks'for drooping by.
Great Stuff ,your one calm geezer , I am going to do the external insulation with silicone render to an old stone cottage i have there is approx 80 m2 ,what brand of silicone render would you recommend
thanks D
I always use the ceresit ct74 silicone self clean render you can finde different acrylic types but they're going to get dirty quicker. Thanks for the visit
Great video, can you put ct74 straight on yo sand and cement render, also does the cement render have to be sealed with a primer before ct74
Yes it's going to stick on everything but I recommend to put the primer before doing it
Hi pal . I’ve just completed an acrylic job on one of the walls the rain has washed parts off . Nightmere .. can I just patch it in with the left over acrylic .. my question is do you think it will blend in or does the whole wall need doing again ???
Definitely not. You will need to do the entire wall. If not you will have patches and if to much water went on the fresh render is going to lose the chemicals in the render and the strength of it. Is going to bubble and peel off
Thanks for getting back to me.. do you think I can go straight over the old acrylic or do I need to prime it again ??
It's fresh, so there is no dust on it yet. Yes, you can go on top of it, but make sure it's hard and grip well on the wall. If not, it can peal off after a few month's
Thanks mate 👍👍
@dominicdurso3672 no problem im glad i could help
Nice job, you make it look easy but it's not 👌👌
everything is easy when you know how to do it :)
Hi thier nice work.
How much water do u add to your silicone topcoat?
hi.if is to cold outside gist a god mix with the mixer if it's worm up to abot 400 grams
you can see here when i mix the color
th-cam.com/video/pL8XdZSZ2VQ/w-d-xo.html
Wasn't the render too moist when you started smoothing it?
A bit yes, the wearher wasn't helping
@@How2Extreme ok good to know, planning to do the same work in 2 days. Thanks!
Good luck. If you have any questions, im here
@@How2Extreme i fucked something up. When i try to smooth it, it sticks to my shovel. Is it too moist still? I've been waiting for over half an hour and it still seems moist🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
All good, that means you are in the shade and have more time have some patience
Hi great vid , is the under coat just sand and cement with mesh and fibers ? Thanks
No it's render adhesive
@@How2Extreme thanks mate
@@dominicdurso3672 you welcome
Hi, I've used acrylic rendering and it's surely very messy and even though it looks all nice and smooth in some daylight, it looks rough and uneven in different angles when Sunlight hits it. I am not happy with it. Can I reapply primer again and new layer of acrylic render top coat? Thanks for your time.
Hi.The base need to be perfect to get a nice finish. The topcoat only it's not going to solve the problem you need base coat and a straight edge. You can try with the top coat maybe you get lucky. Send me some pictures on my Facebook
@@How2Extreme Thanks for the reply. I discovered that I can sand down the imperfections and that I can then put a new layer of paint on top once it's fully dried. I don't like the final gray colour anyway so I'm going White that way future touch ups should be easier.
Excellent.i didn't know you can sand it down and have a good result Good to know
Thanks
You welcome
Can you get a finer stone for a smoother finish.
Hi.This is the smaller one 1.5mm stone and it will go up to 4mm stone but is possible to leave it with the adhesive and paint with silicone paint or exterior paint.Aditional coat of adhesive need it
What products do you use? Is it British products or eu?
I know in other countries they do silicone plastering for indoors
Hi it's a eu product and yes some people are using it for inside but it's not the purpose of it.Thanks for the visit
@@How2Extreme subscribed you as i live in the uk and want to watch your work for ideas and tips.
So is it completely fine to use this for indoor areas like porch etc? And it is completely same silicone product?
Yes it's fine the render it's breathable and you shouldn't have any problems

clean the surface if old flaky paint (don't go crazy with it) apply the adhesive with the fibreglass mesh ,primer and then the top coat you can find similar product's in selco under the name Stormshield.
www.selcobw.com/info/johnstones-stormshield-performance-render
if you don't care much about cracks to appear just primer and render it with the top coat
i can guide you more on Facebook all details on my youtube channel
Buy yourself a hawk ,and but 4,6 oz of water in the finish it will spread better👍
I have a hawk and I don't like to work with it and the render was mixt with water.thanks for your message I really appreciate your tips.ty
Can this be put over sand cement lime render.
Yes. Just primer and apply
Can I silicone render onto painted brickwork?
Course you can just make sure that is no flaky paint if there is take it down and most important is to have a flat surface if not all the joints are going to be noticeable
Pozdro dla królika😂😂😂
😅😅😅
Why don’t u just use a hawk instead of just putting in straight on the towel just seems like more work
Not a good idea for this type of render
Salutare.

Good afternoon. When doing a large wall, do you work in small sections? As in you apply 1-2 square meters and then immediately go over it with a plastic float. This material dries pretty quickly, doesn't it?
Thanks.
Hi.yes it's drying quite quickly depending on the weather.i try to do as much as i can before touching it up with the float if not you might notice where you stop.best to have some one with you to help ,work in the shade, put some more water in the mix if to hot outside be fast and don't stop till you finish.more clips with this system next week.thanks for the visit

Hello 👋
Hello 👋How can i help
are you romanian bro?
Yes
My name is Sorin.😂😂😂
hi.....if you are doing a huge big wall, (finishing silicone) and you are just one guy doing the lot...im guessing you need to do the wall all in one go, or else if you stop and start from one day to the next you will have lines etc ?......or is there a 'trick' or secret on how to do a large wall on your own with breaks and not leave signs of having done so?
I do it alone sometimes, and the trick is not to stop and to increase speed as you go. I recommend 2 people
@@How2Extreme thank you for your prompt response
You are welcome. Also, you can add some water to the render but not too much as it is going to be to liquid and fall off the trowel
Tragedy this job

I've done my best to show how it's supposed to be spread. Thanks for watching 👀
