Hey All, I am an experienced tradesperson working in and around London, I carry out all sorts of renovation projects, from extensions, External Wall rendering, bathroom renovations, kitchen installs, etc.
As with many other TH-cam DIY videos, the content on my channel is to show you how I work, overcome problems, and overall guide you on things you may want to consider when undertaking renovation projects, or what things to look out for when buying a property in the UK.
Renovation work can be costly and daunting, so my aim is to help you think about your options based on quality of materials, costs, longevity etc.
There are many ways to do a particular task, there are many regulations you may need to consider, so i hope to point all these out when i come across them with any projects i work on.
Hope you enjoy my content!

Building my NEW TH-cam Office in a tiny space
That looks awesome.
Great video ! If you can it’s best to punch the nails through the flooring with a hammer and punch leaves flooring undamaged need a big punch and heavy hammer !
Thanks for your advice. I usually use screws because I think it's easier to take them out if needed
Hi, the hole you made with the big screw was that only to crack through the render and not make a hole into the insulation? Presuming you made the hole into the insulation by screwing it in. Thanks
the helical fixing is screwed in to the eps board and the small cut with the knife at the beginning was to cut the fibreglass mesh that is at the back of the render
thanks for this video. Do you ever fit the insulated window sills? Important topic which is not covered on TH-cam until now.
Not really the building materials that you can easily find in the uk are very poor it's about 30% of what is in the Eastern european countries. And full insulated windows are covered on youtube but in a nother linguadge
th-cam.com/video/oe2u0oxHJQU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=T-O-mlaMaJw6dPQ8
@@How2Extreme this is very interesting way to build. No cavity, window in a ply box sticking out of building into external insulation. Maybe we should start building houses like this in the U.K.?
@smellypunks that guy is an architect and is building his own house from scratch and explains all about it on each stage. He also is buying materials all over Europe and explains why and the specs. Passive houses are a new way of building, and you have to be careful to the smallest detail. Hi definitely have some good videos on ewi. The frame can be bought in aluminium with insulation inside don't need to be build with timber, are an infinite way's to do ewi
Nice neat finish. Its all about the planning.
Thank you mr. Phil. Im glad you are still with as ❤️❤️❤️
Always.
@philedwards482 👏👏👏
Hi I would like to insulate my house Can I contact you to do it please I so much like the way you work
Yes.
good job
Thanks
Hi Bud, i asked if you could share this back a couple years ago, appreciate you showing your technique. In the end I completed my diy job and I used the metal sills mainly so I can get side end caps. Were you able to fit end caps to yours ? I couldn’t work out how using a facia. Well done for being the first on you tube to show this 👍👍👍
I filmed this about 1 year ago and i had my doubts putting it on. I think this is the best way of doing it because you can easily replace them , and yes you can stick the end caps without any problem. Let's see how much hate i will get on this clip from the window fitter's 😅😅😅
@@How2Extreme no hate here bud, your good guy that takes pride in his work 👍
Thank you very much. Your gist made my day better
Boom first one. Nice clean job🎉
Thanks, mate. i really appreciate your message ❤️
I'm expecting more vids too😊
@MrIR_warrior definitely every week will be one uploaded im working on them as we speak
Thank You so much ... Thank U for pool plumber like me....
Thank you too!
Where do you buy the fill valve for these type of cistern?
it should work with a universal one witch you can find in any plumbing shop
Do you have any videos with EWI where you had to remove old window sills and add new ones?
Sorry i don't because you can't without taking the window down but ive gist finish to edit a clip about that and is going to be released in 6 days. This is a big coincidance
@ great news thanks. Love your videos.
You are welcome, and thank you
very amazing work sorin
Thanks
Fully informative 🎉 thanks for sharing
You welcome 🙏
Great video, I need to repair my 2 yr old fiberglass roof my builder stuffed it up, can you tell me what is the best brand resin/fiberglass kit to buy?
Thank you .I only used 1 brand and i found myself ok with it. There are others out there my be better but this is what i use follow the link to check... www.cureit.com/
@How2Extreme thanks
@@funk1za you welcome
Thank you for making it so clear to follow
Glad it was helpful!
You always look so relaxed and make the jobs look so easy. Precision tiling and and perfect finnish as always. 👏👏
Wow, thank you very much
Do you recommend this in Northen California? The outerwall in my house is Siding and inside is redwood. There is insulation in the basement and attick / still house is like ice box.
Definitely yes but i don't know if you can find the full system there probably the easyest way is to ad an pir insulation like a kingspan then clad on top with the planks that you usually do around there and definetly is going to be beter than this system
never syce too amaze me with your workman ship
Thank you 😊
I live in a rental and have a standing shower stall in my master bathroom with just one standard shower head, but would like to replace it with this unit. Is it possible to cap off the existing standard overhead shower line, remove the standard operating handle/ valve and replace with this unit or would doing that be irreversible and leave me unable to put back into its original design once we are ready to move? Thanks in advance for your help!
It will not be possible without major modifications on the pipe work
Rubbish
Yes, a lot of rubbish 🤣🤣🤣
happy new year how are you keep up the good work

Victoria plumbing
@@How2Extreme In Australia?
Wow. I have never been there, my be some day 🤣🤣🤣
I've checked a few shops, but no one sells this toilet, not even amazon. I changed my address to Australia but had no luck 😪. Sorry
@How2Extreme thanks. Your efforts are appreciated 👏
My house is timber frame..I was told I can't do this to a timber frame home..
I had a few of them done without any issues. They say that eps board it will trapp moisture in and recommend mineral wool slab because it is breathable and that is going to be a bit expensive. Definitely are different way's to insulate
Spot on. very helpful. Good job..
Awesome, thank you!
Good video, i have a back to wall toilet, but didnt fit it... We have water marks forming on the celing below so i need take it off and look. I dont recommend back to wall toilets, its so much easier to spot and sort issues with a noemal toilet!
Hi. I think it's a good idea to have a look as soon as and keep the damages at a minimum. I agree they look nice but hard to spot any problem's
Hi mate where are you based? Are you willing to travel
Hi.im based in Essex. Depending on the job

Liking the videos and the channel (just found it). Please wear a mask for your health though with that amount of dust during the demolitions. 😷
Its a bit difficult while im filming , i will have take of the mask and put it back again with more dust on. That's why i'm avoiding that. Thanks for joining
I know a perfectionist when I see one & this guy is definitely one, enjoyed all the vids❤
Wow, thank you!
Please remove that music
It will not be easy to do that, but i will be more careful in the future. Thanks for letting me know
Did you use a drip bead? Your bottom edge looks serrated?
No. It's an aluminium starter rail at the bottom
Oh dear that's not going to last 😂
yes it will
@How2Extreme well not I'm my book it won't, Osb3 boards need to be bandaged not just taped, the resin actually needs to penetrate joints. No bandage to any of the trims. And no adhesive to trims drip side. Also no where near enough clouts in the trims. It won't last....
I've seen other roof's done with the bandage on all the joints, and they were cracking very loudly when expending. I am following the instructions from curit where i can
Is is common for the chimney to be single skin in the attic?
Yes. Sometimes, it will be double in the middle where the 2 breasts are fusing together
@How2Extreme my chimney in the living room measures 1500mm wide by 500mm deep. Howeven in the attic it measures: 840mm wide by 390mm deep. Given the attic dimentions. How many brackets would you use? And would they be 50x50mm or 70x70? Thanks. The chimney in living room goes diaginally to the second floor then syraight
50x50 should be enough, but always, you need to check with building control because sometimes they will ask for a still, depending on the circumstances
@@How2Extreme just out of interest what's a still. I'm not the one doing it but I wanna make sure the builders i have booked are doing it correctly 👌
@kierenhudson6331 Sorry steel or rsj
Brand new all in one unit . Runs for few minutes . Cuts off error 08 . Ive changed the fuel line to nylon . I van see bubbles moving . Pump works . Combustion or glow plug shuts off after a few mins. Absolute trash .
Yes, it's not the best build but it's doing the job if it's strting. Something is definitely clogged
@How2Extreme from new ? How
Many thanks for your very informative video. Could you please tell me the Brand name of the fixings you used including the German ones? Thanks Chris
I dont remember exactly the brand but you can easily find them on internet as helical fixings for ewi or eps boards. I will recomend to use the normal screws and plugs they will do a better job.
@@How2Extreme Thank you for your reply much appreciated. But what do you mean by the normal screws and plugs please can you give me an example I'm not sure what you mean do you mean the normal plastic spiral plugs that are used for plasterboard? Thank you
@Chris-uu6dg no i just mean normal screws
@How2Extreme OK, thanks, so normal wood screws. I just subscribed, by the way. Thanks 👍
@Chris-uu6dg thanks
What did you use to fix them to the wall?
Hi. I used adhesive and mecanical fixings for eps boards
A few mistake here but we live and learn i guess.
it's always room for improvement
what is the name of this system?
Try looking for external wall insulation
