R2 and Jabba were the most egregious omissions of my collection, so I’m absolutely thrilled to finally have them both! So glad I waited for a properly scaled one! He’s a beautiful little figure, and I can’t wait for R5-D4 and any other astromech droid they do on this body.

Thank you for going over this figure! I was having a hard time figuring out what was supposed to come out and how to pop out the leg. I was expecting the twist for the head, but glad to see they changed that. I also didn't even know about the storage feature, so that's amazing!

Finally one the right size. Up to now, my R2 is the Kotobukiya Artfx one. It does have the panel lines darkened. I have ordered the version in the Mando packaging. Looking forward to comparing the size.

When Steve Evans was on board the SW team at Hasbro he almost succeeded in getting the scale updated to this, but for some odd reason it wasn't realized until now. It's nice to finally have the right scaled R2, especially since I haven't gotten around to assembling my bandai R2 and R5 :D
That's interesting about Steve... This needed to be done years ago. The Bandai kit is quite nice. It's a little unforgiving when putting it together, but the finished product is great. The new BS R2 - the fact that it's not a model, you can actually 'play' with it. So nice... Thanks so much for watching!

Also I do wish they give the astromech droids a better paint job on the accessories, and put black paint on the outline panels for a realistic effect, but great toy either way

That's the 50th anniversary of Lucasfilm "Power of the Force" cardback Luke. It's the same figure as the original Black Series farm boy Luke, it just has the 'updated' face. Thanks for watching!

I believe it's a welding torch. There's a scene I recall where R2 is using one and it looks like a gun - although I dont now which movie it's in.

More paint detail is always welcome. A simple dark wash would really bring out the panel details on the body. I may do that at some point. 👍🏻👍🏻
I do wish black series r2d2 life scanner panel do open like in the movies, instead of taking it off, but I still like how it is
