Awesome tutorial. Can you save items to a folder and then reuse them without having to draw them again? Say save 1x2 different lenghts so then you have easy accessto them?
Great video, i appreciate your efforts creating this woodworking video, upload more videos woodworking videos, no other channels upload shaper 3d videos under woodworking
Regarding the shpr3d application, does it have a free version with no time limit, and is it possible to draw sketches of furniture for woodworking? Does the free version have all the commands as in the paid version? Do you have any basic tutorial videos on using it?
I make products in wood, using fusion 360 but I’m not happy with the performance as I find it sluggish and often awkward. Just downloaded Shapr for IPad and the way you use it it looks just very swift and intuitive, if I can use it like that it’s a switch for me!
Like your style of teaching! Struggling to do a compound angle table with half lap joints on compound angle legs. Perhaps a video tut? Thanks for the tutorials. Coming from Sketchup finding Shapr 3d not very intuitive. Your vids help big time!!
Yeah Shapr3D is a different modeling program from SketchUp, so they approach modeling differently. What kind of a compound angle table with half lap joints are you talking about? If you have instagram, feel free to send me a DM on there and show me a picture?
Wouldn't the second tip/cut/joint be easier to just offset the edge and extrude it downward? Only been using it a couple days and watching videos before bed 🫠
You can do that manually, but I never account for saw kerf in my diagrams. I know as long as I leave a large enough uncut material on the ends, I’ll have enough material. and I cut the pieces out as I build instead of cutting everything out at the beginning and then build
I appreciate your videos, and have bought an iPad Pro and Sharp3D based on your recommendations. As I'm trying to learn the software (I mainly use/used Autodesk Fusion 360 on the PC), I've followed along your video here, but I've run into an issue. It's obvious that the program has been updated since this video (which is to be expected) and somethings in the video are not done exactly as shown (but close enough to figure out). However, I'm stuck replicating the box joints @16:41. I am able to select and "copy/move" them, but they seem to be "attached" to the edge of the front face of the board, creating a chamfer as I drag them to the other side. I've tried selecting the lines manually (to exclude the outside edge of the piece), but I cannot seem to copy these lines properly. I was able to replicate everything in the video before this, but I'm stuck here. Any ideas what I may be doing wrong? Thanks.
@@BevelishCreations I think I know what is causing the error just don't know how to fix. Here's a link to a video showing the issue I'm having: th-cam.com/video/wl7HR-SBCMk/w-d-xo.html
I think I've got it. The move option doesn't appear in the sketch unless you select Move/Rotate from the menu. Then I was able to move the boxes from one side to the other without affecting the model.
What am I doing wrong??I’m attempting to use the align tool to bring the two pieces together but it highlights the entire piece instead of just the outside edge like you show
@@BevelishCreations Go to Transform > Align. Select the body or bodies that you want to align. This defines the bodies that will be moving in the modeling space. If the body has snap points, they are shown in purple. Select the target that you want to align with. This selection could be any of the valid selections mentioned in the table above. Alternatively, you can select the body’s snap point and drag it to a target body’s snap point.
Hi Alex, thanks for sharing al this knowlegde. Please, can you explain how to present all the pieces for an woodworkshop? I mean, how to créate a plan with separated pieces and not the final ensamble together. It is a question about Shapr3d y have time asking me, THANKS!

Great to see how Shapr3D tools apply to modeling wood joints! You're an inspiration and a terrific teacher, thank you!
Thank you so much!
Fantastic video. Well spoken, easy to follow and you have friendly personality in your teaching. Shapr3d should hire you to teach
This tutorial couldn’t have come soon enough. Keep them coming man! I’ve been blown away with this tool lately.
Thanks for watching!
Got a new Shapr3D tutorial up! Hope it’ll help you out on your journey!
A most excellent teacher!
You are a master at this! I am 70yrs so it will take me time, I have been using Sketchup, but this seems great at 3d!
Brilliant! First week playing with 3D modelling for woodwork, your tutorials are entertaining and extremely useful 😊! Keep it up mate, great work!
Thank you!
شرحك جداً رائع..سريع و مفهوم وتصل المعلومة للمشاهد بصورة متكاملة .شكرا جداً

Thanks! I’m getting pretty proficient with Shapr3D but I actually learned a few things from your demo. Looking forward to your next one.
Awesome!
You're a great teacher. thanks

Great video, can you do one on organizing assemblies… please
Thanks for all the tips, Alex! Thanks! 😃

would you pick up the 14" Ipad pro max if they make one?

Love the shapr3D videos! Side question- is there an easy way to make cut list or nesting parts together on say a 4x8’ sheet with this program?
There isn’t an automatic way to do that right now. I usually do it manually, which I actually prefer

Question: How do you model a routed profile on say, a tabletop? Haven’t been able to figure it out!??
I’m not sure what you mean. Like a roundover around the edge?
@@BevelishCreations no more of a profile like on a pictureframe or crownmoulding. Kinda
@@BevelishCreations in sketchup i can create a profile and then use the follow me tool to apply the profile on all 4 sides of a table.
You’ll want to draw the profile in a sketch. I’d it’s a circular table top, use the revolve tool. If it’s a rectangular table, you can extrude it
@@BevelishCreations are you referring to a sketchplane? Yes the table is rectangular.
