    As an amateur with woodworker, i typically feel overpowered with the entire arrangement th-cam.com/users/postUgkxrYREG3-7f1Aqk9ams3ZESRNzGnfdUtyQ . Be that as it may, this arrangements drove me through with much clarity and effortlessness woodplans. Works i now work like a genius. That is great!

    Great tutorial, you obviously know the program well! My only wish is you would either slow down on some of the more complicated items or be zoomed in on your screen slightly better so I can see which buttons/functions you are using. Otherwise, really wonderful. Once I get the hang of this program a bit better (coming from sketchup) I will use your code to get the subscription. Got tired of running up and down stairs from the shop to the computer, so hoping to make use of this when in the shop better!
    Lastly, and I definitely agree with you, I hope the guys @shapr3D add better dimensioning. It is such a powerful tool on sketchup to have that ability to quickly dimension anything and see it from all rotated angles.

      I feel SketchUp have a steeper learning curve than Shapr...As a design engineer who’s used a lot of different programs, I’ve been recommending Shapr to anyone who’s just getting into CAD. I’ve been recommending this program before they sponsored me. Feel free to ask me any questions about the program and I can try to answer the best I can. Thank you for posting a tutorial related to a furniture build and Shapr3D. I hope to see more. This video tutorial was very good relative to the other Shapr3D tutorials available. However relative to other tutorials for programs like Sketchup this tutorial is ok. Like the other Shaper3D tutorials out there this video progresses far to fast for me to be easily useful. When you say ‘I use the translate tool...’ for example by the time I’ve figured out where/what the translate tool is you’ve already moved on. I am appreciative for your time and thankful this wasn’t 30 minutes of music and warp speed sketching. Maybe as a raw beginner to Shapr3D I’m not the target audience. I’m sure more experienced users got much more valuable info from the vid.

    • @BevelishCreations
      @BevelishCreations  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just assumed people would pause and do the option, then continue with the video. It’s how I normally work when learning from TH-cam videos. I’ll keep that in mind for next time

    • @vetguy2494
      @vetguy2494 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually you assume correctly. I use split screen with TH-cam and Shapr3D side by side but still find it difficult Probably more my issue as obviously with over 400 likes I’m likely in the minority. I find Shapr3D difficult to use in general. I meant no animosity toward you or the tutorial , and I appreciate you responding to my comment. I look forward to your next Shapr3D tutorial and really enjoy your build videos.

    I’m wondering how you go about creating a “finished” plan once you have your model complete. In other words, is there a way to export this or print this with measurments on each piece showing. One other question, I saw your video over on the Shapr3d channel, and notice you incorporate a cut list app. What app was that? Great content! Thanks.

    • @BevelishCreations
      @BevelishCreations  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @BevelishCreations

      Sorry for the super late reply. Yes, you can absolutely use the subtract tool to do this

  •  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Loved this video.
    I’m going to try It.
    Just a question: when you make your cutting diagram don’t you need to account for the thickness of the blade? With the pieces all butted up against each other the measurements are going to deviate at the end, right?

    • @BevelishCreations
      @BevelishCreations  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don’t account for them when I make my cutting diagrams because I use referential measurements when I build. And when I break down the plywood, I’d make one cut, then measure from the new edge anyway. The sizes wouldn’t differ

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve downloaded the App and I like it very much. The tutorials are very explanatory also.
      Two side notes: I have a regular iPad 6 and it works great; I don’t have an Apple Pencil but a Chinese one instead that costs a fraction of the price and it also works great 😊

    Hey Bevelish, thanks for all the tutorials you have so far produced. Really helped me along the way with learning shapr3d. Have you come across any better ways of taking your parts and optimising the layout on a sheet of 8x4? Im just at the point of getting training on a industrial size cnc machine, which i will use for wardrobes and doors. So jobs consist of up to 10sheets at a time. Wondering if there is something quicker and more organised. Currently use CutList Optimiser and manually input measurements and then cut on a wall saw, but transferring to cnc shortly! Thanks in advance!

    Hello this was the best Shapr3D tutorial. I primarily want to use for designing furniture. Thanks I’ll probably hit you up with questions. How did you get so proficient with Shapr?

    • @BevelishCreations
      @BevelishCreations  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I’d say the best way to get good at it is keep using it. I’ll practice with it any chance I get. When I’m watching tv, I’ll pick it up and draw a random table lol

    Great insight into the app. My brain doesn’t work that fast but I picked up some valuable tips. Just need to watch it again and again. Is there a TH-cam slow mo button??

    • @BevelishCreations
      @BevelishCreations  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, there’s an option to slow the video down in the options

    Random question- wanted to do the iPad setup as well. Do you use the iPad for film editing at all? Torn on how much on board storage to get. 512gb , 1tb, 2tb, thanks!

    • @BevelishCreations
      @BevelishCreations  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey I don’t use my iPad for editing. Even if you do edit video, you can edit off of an external SSD drive. It’ll be just as fast without taking up internal storage

    Does it matter if you’re using the first pencil? Any difference? Great video thanks.

    Awesome. Neat CAD application.
    12:28 The second leg axis isn't exactly symmetrical to the first one, though. (Not that it matters much for this demonstration. It's just that I feel that programs with emphasis on easy usability often allow for easy mistakes. // Or to put it differently: Ease of usability often comes with a lack of control. But I want to try it out, myself. Shapr3D looks great.)

    • @BevelishCreations
      @BevelishCreations  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it probably wasn’t completely symmetrical, but it wouldn’t matter much if I’m building it

    Only just started watching your videos recently I was curious if you had any videos where you discuss your thought process when working through a design and how you’re about to think in terms of millimeters and different things like that. I’m assuming you grew up with the metric system.

    • @BevelishCreations
      @BevelishCreations  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah I grew up in the US. But we only used metric in engineering school (in the US). And I worked as an engineer for Honda for 12 years, and we only used metric.

    Love you channel, but have one question. Right now the pro version no longer exists. If I would want to add dimensions would I need the standard version? If you don't know no biggie, you have really inspired me!

    • @BevelishCreations
      @BevelishCreations  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know they’re working on adding dimensions to 3D parts like Sketchup does. I’m not sure what version it’s finally going to be on though

    brilliant video LOVE IT but by all the brilliant CAD you forgot that your saw cut is bigger than 0mm. ;-) How you manage the cutting with of your tools in the layout?

      I never lay out the kerf of the blade :) the diagram is just for reference. As long as there’s leftover material along one edge, it’s fine

    I’m curious about how you would center up the leg assembly. It seemed that it wasn’t perfectly centered in the drawing from the start and the half lap and the position of the legs would be in different spots. I realize once building for real you can center everything up but just wondering how to set this in place. Seasoned SketchUp user and brand new shaper3d user.
