Pumps also get damaged when they are not used. If the oil tank was left empty they run and get damaged and could seize and cause the white plastic gear inside the engine to break all the teeth off and now you will have plastic teeth floating around in the case. These engines and carburetors were not designed for premix. It of course will run but not properly.
@resurrectionauto670 the pump enables engone braking but the rotary valve and bottom end need to be directly lubed by the pump, but then not sure how much damage actually happens

Just to let you know you probably have prematurely damaged your engine by not using the pump
Thanks for the comment. The gas was premixed to ensure lubrication. No harm to the engine.
