how to determine if its a soldered CPU? newer laptops are soldered and has a low resistance as always because it should. how to determine if its just shorted or not with Soldered CPU
Thank you for your question. For checking if it's shorted, you'll need to measure the resistance on the CPU's power rail. If the resistance is significantly lower than expected or near zero, this could indicate a short. However, some newer CPUs do have lower resistance due to their design, so it's important to compare with the typical values for that specific CPU model.
Thank you for this informative video! Now that we've identified a short circuit, what is the best way to isolate the faulty component in the circuit? Is power injection and infrared analysis the most effective approach? Or perhaps a combination of a multimeter and an oscilloscope? I'm looking for a method that is both fast and accurate, with a 99% probability of identifying the faulty component. A video explaining the best method would be greatly appreciated!
I love you tutorials. Great tutorial. You can also measure the resistance or microhenries of the inductors with the MESR-100 ESR meter. The reactance formula is 2𝛑FL. That would be 2 x 3.14 x frequency of esr meter which is 100 kHz x 100 (uH) Just plug it in to get the reading. R=0.628 X L(uH) L(uH)=R(ohms) ➗ 0.628
Your teaching is excellent boss, it’s always clear to understand. Please am having issue with the psid Line. I will like you to help us touch on that, thanks in advance boss 🤛
There is this laptop of mine hp that i had connected a vga to hdmi converter for external monitor. I think there was a power serge from the monitor and the hdmi caused the board to short and some components burnt. So the laptop just keeps blinking on charge light, caps lock and power light at the same time but doesn't start at all. What could be the issue. Have you worked on such an issue before.
excellent technique , if we got specific section like around CPU section but how we identify which component gone or shorted? inductor or capacitor(s) or IC b/c we need to know and replaced it, i.e how we know which component(s) is shorted??? our customer is waiting us sold problem thank you so much!
Thank you sir the tutorial. You are teaching the basic and explaining stuff that I m having trouble understanding. Your tutorials are helping me learn🙏🙏🙏. Keep up the good work.
I’ve never heard someone say, and this so important for me, that an inductor never has continuity to ground. Such simple advice but so effective. I love the common sense. I have one question. What caused the short to ground? I know you could replace the inductor but the problem may repeat because you haven’t describe how to resolve the root cause of the short. I see that you touched on suspect components right at the end but that’s a lot of components to check. Maybe one day you can deep dive the repair a little. Thank you. 🙏 by the way I hope you don’t read this negatively because your videos are really very very good.
Pls sir i want to learn on patreon but i cant access the link you gave to join ur watsap. I have tried severally and the site is not loading. Pls help me i really need to join immediately
Thank you. I was going to watch the old video, but I found that you made a new video. Thank you
Hope you like it!
@@electronicsrepairbasics_erb I have a question. I have a Razer laptop, but I cannot remove the processor (it is soldered). What should I do?
Another very useful video.
Thank You Brother.
So nice of you
When you will repair the final motherboard?
I need to know how to detect the short circuit cause in it .
Thanks bro .
Very good sir
Keep watching
Could you use voltage drop method to find the shorting component?

Hi, i need some advice. I have a laptop with cpu warming/heating when battery is connected but no power, no light when plugged in.
That is a great tip. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
thank you very much sir for sharing...god bless.
