Hi. I have been following your channel for quite some time now from my point of view you one of the most Genuine Teachers of electronics I have ever come across online. Being in the computer repair business for about 10-15years my version of the repair was finding what part went bad and then replacing that part which is very basic since watching and studying your videos I have a better working knowledge of diagnosing and troubleshooting. I know I still have a lot to learn but you make learning easy and fun. I want to say thank you for taking the time out to make such educational videos on electronics repair. you have been an inspiration to many of us Please keep up the good work.
interesting points ,if anyone else wants to learn about pcb trace repair try Saankramer Electronic Magazine System (just google it ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my brother in law got great results with it.
Don't try bridging MOSFETS. Good advice. Back in the 70's I use to tuneup my cars replacing plugs, points and condensers. Then they started putting in fuel injectors and computer circuits. Now I take my truck to people who know what they are doing. Their experience is just as valuable to me as the parts they use. I enjoy your videos. They help me appreciate a hidden world of electronics all around me
If he did not bridge the MOSFET then the other option was to throw away the dead Laptop but by bridging the MOSFET the laptop turns on and might works for years until there is power surge to damage other components!!!
Wow for a biginner like I'am this is just awesome! Most videos on youtube are just for advanced technitian, they're only speaking for themselves. I think the most important point here was how to follow the track, that's the key. Thank you!
One of the best teachers, I'm following you for 1 year, and in every lesson you give me something that in the past years other teachers can't able to explain as you. Please never stop to do your lessons, Greetings from Italy my master Antonio Micello
Good Video.. I like the *"Beginner Point of View"* idea... Alot of us are just starting out... You should do more like these... i know this is an older vid, but the idea is good & different than everything else on uTube.. You should do fault finding videos like that too... maybe even common components & how to test them with meter in-circuit to know if they are bad, *HOW* to test them.. Thanks keep up the good work Soron...
It is nice to see something simple. I am on my third laptop to learn this and it looks like I won't find the fault...Things do go very complicated indeed and situations where you just give up pop up all the time. For a noob it may be simple when one looks at your videos but in reality it is very overwhelming. Well at least for me. Thanks Sorin for your work.
I am a beginner and have already learned so much from you. I would like to thank you for your videos and the time that goes into making them. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
There are never enough videos for those just starting to repair laptops, but this video I found excellent increasingly sorin becomes an excellent educator to find some of the easiest problems to repair and find. Thank you, excellent.
Thank you, makes me want to learn electronic basics, then being a better and more complete computer technician. It's so satisfying to be able to repair electronic boards instead of throwing them away.. Keep up the good work!!
Yo this video was perfect in every way and helped me answer and break so many barriers where my questions lay. I appreciate this video very much. I would love to see you do this again.
I've been given some faulty laptops, I know two have power issues. This is the first video I've seen that actually helps me understand the basics of laptop power distribution instead of just rattling off acronyms from a schematic.
At first I made the decision to watch your long video (1+ Hr) and it was interesting !!! But today I found, you are really awesome. Ultimately/finally I had to subscribe to avail your superb knowledge. Great work and research dear !!! KEEP IT UP. Best wishes from LAHORE
You are a great teacher...you keep it simple. I would have liked it if you had shown where you bridged the MOSFET as a beginner just to be sure thanks.
Thank you Sorin I am learning but I appreciate the time you take to teach rather than money it means a lot to me and I think many others keep up the good work
Oh hello ser good day because here from i’m from is already sunny day! And how i love watching you tweek so easy and effortless almost all loptop that comes in your shop, its very informative the way you present every situation i’m si very grateful to have come and watch your every video thank you very much My name is leonardo and i’m from the phlippines
Perfect, working on the exact same laptop, magnification was a big help. 👍 Edit: Put it back together and found the plastic on the charger tip stripped from wear and tear, positive was shorting in the port.
Excellent video 8-) Myself an Acer Laptop that doesn't light the screen, I was informed that the video 'chip' was gone! Now I can hopefully check the power jack/port side of the mobo. I have an eye glass (30x) but even that might be no good in this situation. At least I will be aware of that now thanks.
thank you sir for your videos i have really learnt a lot . your laptop repair tutorial is one of the best out there, obviously you are a genius. please i want to ask a bit confusing question 1. when do we accuse the supper io for a laptop failure? 2. why will a laptop refuse to power on when 19v, 3.3v, 1.0v, 0.9v, .. are all present on a laptop mother board. 3. what do we do when there is no voltage on the cpu power supply when the system is powered on.
Hi there, I really like your channel, I have learned a lot from you. Thank you so much for this channel you are an expert in electronics and I appreciate your sharing your knowledge with us. Greetings from Bosnia and Herzegovina
I love your practical approach to electronics it just seems to flow with you, Great teacher, Please keep making more video's I would like to learn more in your class. best regards joe uk
Thanks for another interesting video Sorin. I hope you can make another one with a faulty capacitor and how a beginner can approach that too. I'm facing a similar issue with a "dead" Lenovo laptop and via your videos I am beginning to get confident that I will be able to revive it. Regards!
just thanks man thanks i spent my free time watching you with a pleasure .keep this work this is the reason why you are so great, because you have altrouism as person
What he did here is equivalent to resetting your circuit breakers when the lights go out in your home. Think of the first two Mosfets as circuit breakers that will shut down power when something is drawing too much current. On an N-Channel Mosfet the Gate must be the same or higher than the source for current to go through. On this Mosfet the Gate was 0.924v while the Source was 19.22v. In order for current to go through he jump the Mosfet to make the Gate equal to the Source thereby allowing the current through. But what about the component that cause the surge in the first place? It's still there and may lead to more problems down the road. Is this a good fix? Would you call using a penny in place of a fuse to get the lights back on in your home a good fix?
Please please please make more videos like this, I learnt so much, or if you have more videos like this then create a playlist for beginner videos, thank you very much
Lord you are not a normal person, you have a gift for teaching, for choosing words and stooping yourself to beginners like me whom you help in a great way, for all that thank you, may all blessings fall on you and your family. Greetings from Argentina
Great video Sorin, thanks for all your videos.. One day can you make video showing how to fix the other way? like checking why Chaging IC is not opening first mosfet.
Youre the Main Man! Thank you once again for this wonderful knowledge Sir. You bring inspiration to all us who wanted to learn more on this subject matter. Thank you Guru!
This is amazing. I have a Dell laptop for a few years, and it had been working great until a few months ago when the laptop just shut down by itself right in front of my eyes. Imagine my horror - no power, no light whatsoever,. Your video gives me an idea what went wrong. Honestly I don't think I have the technical know how to troubleshoot the problem with the multimeter, but I'm really inspired by your video to give it a try . After all, I don't think I can do any more damage to the laptop as it is now. Thank you so much for taking the time to make all these videos.
