Yes but this is not a classic sure it’s old but not worth restoring or keeping but it is a way to upgrade the looks

Short wheel base step side 4x4….that’s a rare find right there especially in that good of shape. Would’ve went a different route but to each his own. Super nice truck

I noticed people are doing that a lot nowadays. I also notice people look at old trucks revitalized like this video more often than the brand new $50,000 truck. Great video

You'd be surprised how many well restored classic vehicles there are in Alaska. There are also a lot of older vehicles, non restored on the roads. Partly because of distance from the lower 48, but also because there is no inspection required for cars like down south.

    Got a 98 z71 extended cab.
Could use a few things but by the time I did all the superficial stuff I'd probably have more in it than the trucks worth.
New seat covers, rocker panels and a paint job before I even got to new headlights, taillights and grill would put me in the why bother category. She runs great. Got new brakes, lines, new tires, plugs, distributor cap and rotor all in the last year or so. Only 116k miles. Think I'll just drive it as is for awhile. Usually doesn't see 4k miles a year.

The 90's Chevy/GMC fullsize trucks would run forever if you could keep them out of the roadsalt and salt brines. The engines are solid. I have a '91 C1500 with the 350 that has 312,500 miles and the engine is still original without an overhaul and doesn't need one. It hasn't seen any winter driving since 2002. When someone asks me how I keep the truck so clean I respond..."Easy...I don't drive it in the winter time."

I just wanted to point out an important note for safety. That is not how you check the ball joints on a short arm long arm suspension. You need to put a jack under the lower control arm to take the weight off the upper ball joint to be able to see the inward outward play. It is a common mistake but can have serious consequences if missed. I find it easier also to have the tire close to the floor so you can use a pry bar to lift up and down on the tire while looking for play in both upper and lower ball joints, while pushing in and out on the top of the tire. Ideally having another person helping while looking for play but if by yourself can be fun getting your head around the tire. If the upper is bad enough it will be very apparent, I’ve seen them where there was so much play I was surprised they were still attached to the control arm…

OK, someone has been watching old Top Gear? Nice to see a video thats more than a simple fixit. This is probably a great way to get certain parts sales going. Looking forward to seeing more. Only critique would be some of the after shots where way to close and didn't give the best view of the final look. Nice camera technique though.

Stock headlights and taillights were far better. Tempted to get a new grill on mine since I do like the darker look and a bright red emblem would look nice. Hate the new wheels too, even though the old ones were shedding. This helped me get some ideas of what I'm looking for, but I'm definitely going a different route.
