A lot of bridge QBs are better than these young players getting paid 30 million a yr. At least 4 bridge QBs this year along are better than Trevor Lawrence who just got 300 million dollars. It’s all about the organization and if the front office is delusional. It’s about 15% how you play. 5% how old you are 50% if the tv tells you they’re good 30% popularity. It’s rarely about the play on the field.
Lol, either you have a loose definition of "bridge QB", or you undervalue Lawrence. I'm not sold on him making it another five years in Jacksonville with the holes that have emerged in his game, but he's good enough that the Jags kind of had to pay whatever he wanted. He offers stability and above-average QB play, and he's been improving before the injury-riddled mess of this past season. If a bridge could offer more than that, they'd get the treatment Goff got in Detroit.
@@thatonewriter8043 I disagree that these teams need to "pay whatever he wants". The players have gotten way too much leverage in the market. No chance Lawrence should have been paid all that, and it will set the Jags back even longer. These teams are sticking on QBs for too long when they could be looking for legitimate answers, gaining cap space, and building the rest of their team, and forming an identity outside of the QB. Look at the Lions. Goff is more like the "icing on the cake" than the "face of the franchise" for them, and it works. They have an identity, a scheme, interior players, and THEN they have their QB. If you just want to sell jerseys and season tickets, that's one thing. I know that the owners value that. But when it comes to winning, the guys that have been paid recently is absurd. Daniel Jones, Trevor Lawrence, Dak Prescott, Lamar Jackson (yes, Lamar Jackson), etc. These guys are fine, but they're not THAT guy. None of these teams are getting over the hump with these guys. They'll put up some decent regular season numbers, maybe win a playoff game, and that'll be it.
What the pats did to Mac jones still doesn’t sit well with me. With that being said, I hope they learned their lesson and take better care of drake maye and boost his confidence instead of destroying it
Jacoby Brisset will finish the season about even..he always has...New England traded Brisset back in the day to the colts and he started after Luck retired..same story..in Cleveland..same story...Brisset has a problem of holding the ball too long waiting for the wide open guy..now as that has lead to not throwing very many interceptions..it has also lead to a ton of sacks..so look out New England..your getting a sack lunch every game this year..
Agreed. The stats look very respectable, but it never passes the eye test, and the results never quite show up. He's solid and won't lose you the game, but he'll do very little to help you win. He'd need to be on the 2000 Ravens to win a Super Bowl.
Richardson can be elite if he can make the casual throws, but he's often inaccurate on these short throws. Remember, he only had a 48% completion percentage at Florida. He's great at making the spectacular play, but consistently hitting short to intermediate throws is how you survive and go to the playoffs in the NFL. He's only 22, so hopefully he can stay more healthy and then cleans up his passing process to be more consistent.
As for the Vikes they may have a top 3 skill set group. And a top 3 deffense. They should be desperate for a viable starter, specially if the o line is decent. I´d call Brady, I´d call Atlanta and propose a trade for Penix giving JJ and a second. I´d call the Pats for Brisset
First, Brady is not going to answer at this point. He's done. Second, you're going to call for Penix, why??? He has no NFL experience, plus why would Atlanta give him up after just drafting him? And then you'd call the Pats for Brisset??? And now Sam Darnold is actually looking good. Your career as NFL GM would be a short one haha.
sportscasting is in the toilet. no way these teenie boppers actually have enough guts to stand up to the authority which will water down their scripts and clearly 20 YO like this one dont actually hold intelligent skill based knowledge cause everything has been handed to them.. so what does he do.. what been done for him... he hands us the same lines weve already heard via mainstream.. for example could you telll me anything about WHY displaying smooth power transfer the hips is related to a throw which never looses velocity while throwing on the run and for how long which of these QBs displayed this?
I think the Pats has two Rookies they should want to start over Brisset. If Maye ain´t ready give Milton a chance. Worst case they lose games and get a better pick. Best case they find a diamond in the rough. Start Brisset is not smart at all
Brissett is not as bad as you’re making him out to be and NFL teams don’t want to lose games. It may seem fine on the outside but regardless of what pick you get people lose money and jobs by losing games.
There are levels to good. Bridge is in that serviceable qb range. The way you say is like tua and patty are both good. No pat is exceptionally good and Tua is good.
What are you even talking about? He's saying that the teams need a bridge QB due to scarcity in the market and other reasons. But even with that, you're forgetting about guys like Big Ben and Eli Manning. Both were drafted with a full expectation to eventually play, but sat at first. Baker didn't start right away. Tebow didn't start right away. Manziel didn't start right away. Rodgers didn't start right away. Hurts didn't start right away. Mahomes didn't play right away. Herbert didn't play right away. Lamar didn't start right away. Love didn't start right away. Rivers didn't start right away. Vick didn't start right away. And so on and so forth. funny how i just watched goodfellas the other day😂😂😂😂
Then there’s the packers 😂😂
Golden Jacket Bridge QB?
Teddy Bridgewater was the ultimate Bridge quarterback.
fitzpatrick or brissett are better choices for definitive bridge qb
@@matthewhovanes270 I’m pretty sure he said it cuz Teddy had “Bridge” in his name
Ohhh ya I'm dumb @@ItSaBeastNerd
Fitzpatrick has been all of those
Me watching this, learning the best way to play myself out the bridge and make it as QB1 🧐
Glad the patriots brought Jacoby brissett back crazy he was drafted there and win a superbowl there
A lot of bridge QBs are better than these young players getting paid 30 million a yr.
Sam darnold is the Tom Brady of Nathan petermans.
I stick with being a Packers fan... yall have fun though
Sam D playoff win now!!!!
What the pats did to Mac jones still doesn’t sit well with me. With that being said, I hope they learned their lesson and take better care of drake maye and boost his confidence instead of destroying it
I heard Jones had a bad attitude and the players didn't like him.
NFL humbles you
Oh wait. Trey Lance is a multimillionaire.
The ultimate bridge quarterback... Nick Foles...
Super Bowl whattt?
The Steelers are weird, two crossroads starters in the truest sense of the word. Neither have a contract beyond 2024.
I won’t take Geno slander!! No no no🥲🥲not a bridge QB was supposed to be
Jacoby Brisset will finish the season about even..he always has...New England traded Brisset back in the day to the colts and he started after Luck retired..same story..in Cleveland..same story...Brisset has a problem of holding the ball too long waiting for the wide open guy..now as that has lead to not throwing very many interceptions..it has also lead to a ton of sacks..so look out New England..your getting a sack lunch every game this year..
Agreed. The stats look very respectable, but it never passes the eye test, and the results never quite show up. He's solid and won't lose you the game, but he'll do very little to help you win. He'd need to be on the 2000 Ravens to win a Super Bowl.
Gardner Minshew is a better QB than Richardson who plays a jacked version of high school QB.
✝️
Lost me at Russ bro!!!
Your talking about journeyman quarterbacks...why are you calling them bridge quarterbacks...
Top 3 defense?
Top 3 defense 😂😂😂
Edit: I may have spoken too soon, my apologies.
I'm not even sure Minnesota has a league average defense. Jefferson's great, but the team was a bubble team at best even with McCarthy.
Trey Lance. Lol.
sportscasting is in the toilet. no way these teenie boppers actually have enough guts to stand up to the authority which will water down their scripts and clearly 20 YO like this one dont actually hold intelligent skill based knowledge cause everything has been handed to them.. so what does he do.. what been done for him... he hands us the same lines weve already heard via mainstream.. for example could you telll me anything about WHY displaying smooth power transfer the hips is related to a throw which never looses velocity while throwing on the run and for how long which of these QBs displayed this?
Is your channel supposed to be a Baseball Doesn't Exist knockoff?
People have also said I’m a KTO, Foolish Baseball, and Brett Kollmann ripoff.
Sam darnold did not age well
So happy for Darnold! He’s crossing the bridge to the other side.
I think the Pats has two Rookies they should want to start over Brisset. If Maye ain´t ready give Milton a chance. Worst case they lose games and get a better pick. Best case they find a diamond in the rough.
Start Brisset is not smart at all
You have no clue what your talking about
wrong
Brissett is not as bad as you’re making him out to be and NFL teams don’t want to lose games. It may seem fine on the outside but regardless of what pick you get people lose money and jobs by losing games.
Please stop calling it "the dance" lol. Once is fine. Use other terms, phrases and analogies
alternatives include: "the jig", "the waltz", "the frolic", and "the prance"
No such thing as a bridge quarterback. There are good qb's and bad qb's. If you call a qb a bridge qb then you are saying we have a bad qb.
There are levels to good.
Bridge is in that serviceable qb range.
The way you say is like tua and patty are both good. No pat is exceptionally good and Tua is good.
There’s literally a such thing as bridge QBs. It’s always been a thing
There are good comments and bad comments.. guess which one yours is 😂
The good ones don’t need a bridge. They’re expected to play right away. BTW your take sucks 👎🏾
Patrick Mahomes had a bridge. A lot of the best QBs had a bridge lol.
@@n8q_ Mahomes wasn’t expected to play for a couple years. Alex Smith was their qb1 and he was no bridge.
And regardless of their career success, ALL of them were drafted with the full intent for them to be the franchise guy, but sat behind other guys for a variety of reasons.
So..... YOUR take sucks.
@@2infinity_and_beyond how you long you been watching football man? None of those guys you mentioned was ready to play day one. Also the others played behind ballers. I ain’t t even got time to address all entire comment as I didn’t read it all. But obviously you don’t know football either
@@freshprince7999 Been watching football my entire life. That’s LITERALLY the entire point of this video. The guy isn’t ready to play, so you have a BRIDGE QB. You clearly don’t know a damn thing.
How a Minshew/O'Connor combo is considered the crossroads starter type bridge instead of true tank commanders is beyond wild to me...
