Hopefully we are seeing the start of better prefab boxes hitting the market. This is the way to build one. I for one am looking forward to what Stinger has planned for the future. Very nice review and demo Justin. 👍👍
After a ton of research, I ordered this sub and amp. After installation, I was absolutely blown away by the performance of this setup. Got very loud and quallity seamed very good for the price. After about 2 weeks I was noticing the driver getting a bit quieter. I thought maybe I was just getting used to the bass level. But by week 3, listening to country music, believe it or not, the driver froze up completely. I was very shocked, to say the least. I have never had the gain higher than 50% and ran the bass nob to the front of the car and was set right around 1/4 on. I called Stinger, and they told me to send it back through Amazon for a refund. I told them that I liked the enclosure, and I just wanted to swap it out. They told me that they would only give me a refund. Im a little disappointed because with the way it was built, thought I would get many years of life out of it. I will keep you all posted with the conclusion of this return. But maybe I should take the money and order a Skar like I originally planned.
No it isn't lol... They have like 3 amplifiers, biggest one being 1000w and it's chinese crap. They have 1 subwoofer which is decent, cheap basket, chinese coils, single tiny tinsel lead. The box is decent but that brace in the center is 100% pointless and if anything will make the sub sound worse.
@@jesselusky2074 I just noticed that’s actually monoblock. They also have a whole series of two channel and four channel amps as well. Looks to me like someone doesn’t know their amps very well. 😂

I don't care if they were Phoenix Gold, Audiocontrol, or or anything else. They're Stinger now, and they're good stuff. I feel the prices may go up a little bit, now that the word has gotten out on the quality and craftsmanship for the price.
That enclosure is pretty impressive the way it has the bracing for the motor makes the sub and enclosure a one piece fusing the sub and enclosure making everything stronger and more ridged making for less box flex meaning more output im 100 % impressed by stinger on this job well done..
The whole combo is perfect for my daughter. I just gave her one my older vehicles (2012 Cruze) which is perfect for school and a lil bump but not too bad to bother others. I’m loving the construction details.
After going through over a dozen different subwoofers.. from Covid til now.. I finally settles on 2 10 type Rs in a JL HO Box.. INSANELY loud and still sound Good. I did take 1 look at these new Stinger Subs/Enclosures and Knew they would be Awesome. Their unloaded enclosures are impressive as well.
Earlier this summer there was a little confusion on Amazon with the pricing. I picked up a 12" DC model for the price of the lower model in your video. I've picked up their 700, 1,000, and 1,500 watt amplifiers and their 10" and 12" loaded enclosures this year, before the chaos cleared. Systems for all three of my vehicles for under a thousand dollars!
Man, Justin you’re killing it thank you for the great content. This is right up my alley to put in my nieces vehicle. She is a young college student and wants something simple to put in and out perfect.
I told u this back when I seen your hyanka vid. I have one with the thousand watt amp is perfect with it. Than I bought two thousands and linked them together boy she really pounds sounds great gotta be careful now not to bottom it out. But I have never smelled it. I have a bigger veter sub now but used that with the wrapped amps for over a month.
I'm buying the Stinger combo that comes with the 12 inch subwoofer, same box as in the video, Stinger 1000 watt amp, and their 4 gauge wiring kit for $329.00 this Friday. Thanks for the video...I made a box a several years back for (2) Power Bass 10s sealed with internal bracing similar to that but it didn't actually support the magnet...I'm putting this Stinger combo into a 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport GT...Hoping it's gonna be a banger!!!
My memphis mojo's prefab has internal bracing like aswell as double baffle and 45 corners. Tuned to 35 hz with aeroport. Box weights 53lbs empty for just 2 6.5 inch subwoofers.
Philips head screws are supposed to cam out by design and they're often used when we should be using square/hex/star pattern. Those give us no cam-out torque and thus less likely to strip. It's $1 more to use good screws. We should start making this part of our quality assessments.
I paid $1,000 for a kicker amp few years back. Been using it and have been blown away with the performance. It completely runs almost double the advertised power. Kicker kxa 2400.1 (2400$2ohm) I was running 2 skar evl 12 at 1 ohm I think they handle about 1250rms each, just blew one of my skars. This amp must be making like 3500watts Going to change to dual evl 15s or possibly three 12s
The magnet bracing comes on the skar evl prefab also. They added them cuz the magnet was snapping off the basket during shipping. Happend to kspace guy in his video. Idk if you've ever seen that enclosure or not? I've got it in one of my other vehicles. It's a really nice box for Skar too🤷♂️
Looks similar in quality to the Audio Legion 12 I started out with 4 years ago. I paid around $150 for a 12" sub in a nice ported box with about 1.75 cubic feet of air space off ebay when Skar was selling off the Audio Legion stuff. It could only handle about 600w rms so I upgraded after a year.
When they first came out you could get the DC2 (1000 rms) loaded with a MT1500 for $269. It sounded great but it was lacking on the lows. You could tell the box was too small for that specific sub. I think the box is the same as the one in the video.
Same! I also grabbed the 10" and the 1,000. And the one in this video, with the 700. I got three subs, in enclosures, three amplifiers, and three Stinger installation kits for just under a thousand dollars. Taxes and everything. Now all three of my vehicles are bumping.
Yeah good sounding sub. Definitely need to keep in mind with the price. I like Stinger products. Overall quality is good to better throughout everything they sell. It's crazy some of Stinger's prices, because I don't see Stinger as a "budget" brand. I'd say probably some of the best loaded subwoofers boxes out there since they use 3/4 inch MDF.
After seeing your videos I don't feel so bad about getting back in to car audio after 20 years i thought it was a young man game (not calling you old) 😂 but all the TH-camrs are like my nephew age..

nice test. i would venture to say that the downfiring position is going to offer the smoother response of the 2 options. no one really wants a huge bump at 50hz anyways.
There Amps are no joke! I got the 700.1 and been playing it at 2ohms and now 1ohm. It's rated at 700rms but I think it's pushing 1000w because it makes my 1000w max sub start to smell like it's burning at full volume

I think the preloaded sundown box from down for sound is a much better setup. But it's also a lot more expensive. At this exact moment it is on sale, so it's only about 50 bucks more. At that price point I would go with the down for sound enclosure.
Cost is great but once you look that is actually their best subwoofer so vs scar no it’s not better, look and you’ll see you get more power for cheaper
But how long does it last??? That's the biggest problem. My friend got his first sub and he was like dude I got this shit for 50 bucks and sounded crazy. Hit the lows great I said bet I'll come hear it. It was a boss sub.... yea it was cheap and ACTUALLY sounded ok but then two months later he was like awman it blew... Looks like they both have a cast frame.
Cost is great but once you look that is actually their best subwoofer so vs scar no it’s not better, look and you’ll see you get more power for cheaper
Audio Control uses the same sub.
Is it the exact same subwoofer?
I hated the way mine sounded it it sounded so much better in a bigger box
Most subs do sound better in a bigger box.
I was like duh hahahaha it was a 50 dollar sub. Meanwhile I've spent 400 on my sub and I've had it for 3 years. I feel in audio you get what you pay for. Good box. Good cone. Seems to look pretty sturdy but the voice coil is probably trash. Idk I wouldn't trust it. I like my stuff to get broken in and be able to take a beating.
Wait, what, no t/s param measurement of the subwoofer driver?
That information is not relevant for people who buy preloaded enclosures.
@@DIYAudioGuy It could give an idea of what went into the alignment (box size and tuning) they chose for the driver
So much low end not being heard with 30-40hz tuning... SQ is hearing/feeling the lowest of lows to the highest of highs and everything in between...
