How to reset LTE Modem Polestar 2 Step-by-Step (full TCAM reset)

The LTE on my Polestar is not working since software update P2.1. I attempted to fix it by power cycling the TCAM, which involves unhooking power from both the 12V battery and the TCAM backup battery. Here's the process.

I would try again but you need to add two steps. 1) Once everything is disconnected, you need to make sure that the 12V circuit is indeed powered down. Check the LED in the charging port. If the 12V system is down, then the LED will be off. 2) Once you are sure that the 12V system is down, then you need to connect a jumper between the negative cable (the part you removed from the post), and the positive side (under the plastic cover) you remove all the residual voltage from the TCAM module. Leave the jumper for a few minutes, then reconnect the TCAM backup battery, and then reconnect the 12V system. WIthout putting the jumper to remove the residual voltage, the entire procedure will often have no effect. Good luck!

Hey thanks for the info! I'll give that a try tomorrow. Do you see this often? Polestar service tells me that it could be the actual TCAM module that failed. I would say that's pretty suspicious timing, because my LTE was flawlessly working until this software update, and since then - nothing.

@@AaronCunningham Let's say that I see it often enough. Is it possible that the actual TCAM is defective? Yes, it is possible. But in 95% of cases a 12V battery reset with a TCAM backup battery disconnect is good enough to resolve your issue.

Question: Do I have to disconnect the positive Kabel from the Batterie before I set the jumper ?

Did you try the demister reset immediately after the standard IHU reset? This works for many TCAM issues.

It didn't work for me. Pretty sure they nerfed the ability to perform this soft reboot, without the service center re-enabling the capability to use the defrost button in this way

Any updates on this? I've got a Polestar 2 that ilove to death. I've not had the tcam issue, but I know it's too common of an issue that Polestar/Volvo really should make a priority in resolving. Common, it can't be that hard

I tried the whole process 3 times, including adding a jumper to the negative 12V lead as Roger Jin described to drain any residual voltage. It never solved the issue.
Ultimately I had to take it to Polestar again and I think they reinstalled the software update that broke it initially
