- @RetiredTranquilinThailand Week 19 of our Thai House Build in That Phanom, Thailand saw the installation of our Colorbond metal roof on the carport/storage room, the beginning of the electrical systems installation and the beginning of porch columns rendering. There was only limited activity this week on the build site - it rained out on Monday, the build team were busy on another house during the week but got back to working on our house on Saturday.
Can’t wait to see the electrical!!
looking good. final stretch.
@@Juen-bq3lw - yes, now into finishing, but likely 3 more months
Good progress, it’s a wonderful feeling seeing it come together, we too are going through the same, however, ours is an extension to an existing structure, keep up the good work 😊
Because of those brown red soil around the house and your desire for cream colour at the exterior wall; talk to your builder to place medium size stone gravel around the house wall (at least 1 meter wide with soil barrier fabric between the ground dirt and stone). This is to prevent dirt marking at the house wall because rainwater splashing.
Installing rain gutters with 3~4 inch diversion pipes also reduced those dirt marking at the wall because you did not allow the rainwater to splash onto the dirt. If you decide to install rain gutters; just remember to place the water outlet pipes at least 3 meters away from the house wall/foundation to ensure the structure integrity of your house.
@@rimzalia1362 There is 1.5 meter concrete pathway around the house walls. Appreciate the challenge with light walls & adjacent soil.
@@RetiredTranquilinThailand just ensure those floor pathways are slope away from the house. Plus, consider having brushes surface (can Google for photos) finishing on those concrete pathways.
Thank you for sharing so much of your build.. we are getting some great ideas from you. The fog around our upcoming build clears with every step you post and each episode is better than the one before. Cheers!
@@blubruz appreciate the feedback - hope your build plans work out. We are lucky with our builder doing a great job, so far.
